fucking ser show..the boys did their job,and did it well..talk about forcing a band to kick it up a notch..great show, great party..happy new year!!
-
A great set. Highlights were Puppetry>Vera>Puppetry and Buquebus. Crowd completely raging. Great to see everyone. A fun time as always. Happy New Year. More to follow when I see the proper setlist.
-
Puppetry>Vera>Puppetry niiiice. Well did anyone stay for the Max Creek ? No Tim sitting in? Glad you all had fun.
-
Tim, Adrian and Jordan sat in for a few Creek tunes at the start of their set...from what I heard...I left after the Breakfast to go to SideBar and watch the testicle descend. Not a smart choice, but it really didn\'t matter after the Breakset.
-
Sweet thanx. Should be interesting to hear.
-
my pics are all uploaded in the gallery.
-
this show was sick...i was the guy right in front of tim with the red sox hat...in case you saw me or i just happen to meet you
-
wasnt there an escher\'s before or after superfly or somewhere in the beginning? maybe i imagined it.
-
After Doughboy

nice pics paul. Hell of a way to end 04...if only we had one more set...but i guess that left more time to act like idiots... HYPERSLUTS!!! The sit ins were freakin awesome and the Puppetry Vera Puppetry was chaotic and freakin beautiful.. Great time. New York City in 05 BABY!

-
Jon, what do you mean the sit-ins were awesome? You weren\'t even there. You were with me at SideBar you fucking poseur! You\'re up Max Creek without a paddle.
-

here we go:
I: Sleeping Beauty, jam > Superfly Phaddy Fat > Doughboy, Escher\'s Etchings > Puppetry > Vera Street > Puppetry, The Chase, Lady Madonna, Buquebus > Bugs > Drum Solo, The Man In Me
---
great show for only 1.5 hours.. top notch performance, and the sound was incredible.. ric - definitely spotted you in the front.. saw that you knew all the tunes and was wondering if you were an .inforumer (<---hey, i jus made that up.. i like it!).. i made it up there a few times.. i was decked out in my new year\'s shirt & tie..
anyways.. what a fantastic night/morning! there were AT LEAST 200 hypersluts consumed last night.. went to bed at 8:30am, woke up at 11 and talked mike, todd, and al z into going to the diner (SER veteran move!!).. the last person to officially leave the party was mike at 4:30 this afternoon!! :D poor al z just could not get his game together - t-mac\'s and all.. mandler - when did you leave??
anyways... all across the board!
-
Sound was perfect.
I remember the band jamming particularly hard at the end of Lady Madonna.
Very fun trip to Toad\'s!
Good sized crowd too. Those Creek fans are fucking weirdos!
So much happened at the afterparty so I will start a new thread for recollection of everything that happened.
Great night!!
-
One of the guys threw out the possibility of playing Jive Talkin while they were putting together the setlist prior to hitting the stage.
That would have been the one thing I wish we got to see live.

-
you got it man...that was me...i got tims hand written setlist...it goes
sleeping beauty, superfly phatty fat>doughboy, escher\'s etchings>puppetry>vera st>puppetry, chase, lady madonna, buquebus>bugs, rufus>drum solo>rufus>taboo or not taboot, man in me, inner glimpse
i talked to tim before the show and begged him to play rufus...he said they would and then apologized after the show and said i owe you one and i said yea fucking boston...2 weeks
-
Looks like you all had a good night/morning. And what where now are all those doubters who complained about too much of the new stuff being played? Looks like more of a pb than breakfast set.
-
I cant believe how this band never disappoints me. Ever not one fucking time yet (last night was my 80th breakfast show). The stage presence that the guys have developed is a hard core "we are coming out to rock the fucking schnot out of your faces" type of attitude and it comes off like gangbusters.
I love the sleeping beauty opener. Great to get the crowd movin and ready.
The jam into Superfly (I just relized that Wah was wearin a superfly tshirt last night) was sick sick sick, and the version last night topped my previous favorite version (Cafe 9 Night One August 04).
Dougboy was tight and had the best Dougboy ending I have ever heard them play.
Eschers ending (my favorite part of that tune) was one of the best jams of the night.
and then a Puppetry>Vera St.>Puppetry. I am still looking for my face after this musical sandwich ripped it off my head. Great "cricket jam" by jordan going back into the puppetry.....
The FUCKING Chase. I still have not processed the lyrics to this song, so it means something different to me every time I hear it. Just a great tune...
Followed up by my complete numero uno highlight of the evening...Lady Madonna. All I kept thinking during it was, "These kids are a no fucking joke rock and roll outfit". The music lifted me up up up.
I have the following songs as an Encore for some reason. I dont know, call it what you will...encore....last 3 tunes of the show.....The Buquebus>Bugs. Drum Solo (first ever on new kit), The Man In Me was the giant cherry on the beautiful sundae that was my NYE \'04-\'05.
The crowd was electric. Ric I saw you all night long. I was the big sweaty guy blowing pot smoke in Timmy and Jordans grill.
Great fucking late night gettogether as well. Peck, kudos on your hosting abilities. Lost some money at blackjack, but it was worth it to have timmy come up to me, grab pecks acoustic guitar from my feeble hands and bust out Harrisons "Wah Wah" (A tune that I am sure timmy is sick and tired of hearing me shout that he should/the band should play) I couldn\'t have scripted a better New Years Eve. You are all wonderful fuckers and I love ya.....
Heres to 2005 baby!
Gencs
There was definately some Timmy banter right before Man In Me....
-
YEA,ON TH EORIGINALY SETLIST,MAN IN ME WAS GONNA GO INTO INNERGLIMPSE,BUT THEY RAN OUT OF TIME....BTW,MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION IS THAT I POST IN CAPS 24/7

He was staggering all over the place when Creek went on.
The other weirdo was the 50 year old acid head trying to play the flute while the Breakfast was ripping through their set.
Now I know why they are called Creek Freaks.

The Creek fans are the laid back type that tries to be as weird and far from mainstream as possible. They are the types that name their kids after constellations and latin names for plant species.
Breakfast fans are high energy, fun and have a solid grasp of reality. We are certainly a reflection of the grooves produced by the Staven quartet.
-
very good call..BTW...i cant believe we both drove all that way and didnt even meet up or anything
-
That 50 year old playing flute soudns like SpinRay. And just as a guess the other sounds like Pat the Head Dancin\' Hippie? Just guessing.
-
ding ding ding...give this man a prize.......

I have been listening to this show a lot lately. Thanks again Dave for the turnaround....Great fucking show... Listening to it has also brought some memories back to my brain from that night....heres a question, whoever gets it right gets a beer on me the next time I see you.....
Why are Max Creek fans fucking idiots???
-
Cuz they don\'t have a clue?

I have never seen a bigger bunch of morons acting so collectively stupid in my life.....tons and tons of balloons are floating all over the place, people were all tweeked and having a blast, so what is the first thing that comes to your mind? "yeah why dont we just pop them all as fast as we can" :sigh: idiots....

New Years photos are now up on the photo page (http://www.thebreakfast.org/content.php?photos=photoindex)
Crowd and party pics coming soon.
Enjoy!

Cool to see \'em in the Phish line up (Jordan on Stage Right ala Page) VS Dead style (Keys on Stage Left) as I am used to.
