Just saw them tonight in Denver. First time.

Bottom line: If you live in Colorado and you don\'t go see them at Trilogy Lounge in Boulder tomorrow night 10/7, you have the brain of a gnat.

See you there.

That second set looks freaking ridiculous.  Plus an encore?  Maybe they are starting to blow up in Colorado - it is one of the few jam-friendly regions left.

That whole show, I can sum up in only one word.....SER!!!!! Hope the tape ran well!!

Small crowd when they went on at like 10:45 - about 20 people. They immediately made believers out of all 20 of us. Through the first set people trickled in and the crowd energy increased accordingly. By midway through the second set it was crowded and everyone was getting their groove on in a big way.

So, I would say the CO folk were way into it. I think they were selling lots of CDs, which is a good sign.

My awesome wife agreed to stay home last night when our sitter fell through, and I went with a buddy. When I got home I left my note on the kitchen table before I went to bed that said "Holy crap. We are going to Boulder tomorrow night." She\'s down. I have about 12 hours to find a sitter now.

It is frightening, really, that a band can be THAT FUCKING GOOD and I get to see them for a laughable six dollars. Laughable.

I think that drummer is the best drummer I\'ve ever seen. And I\'m a drummer who\'s been going to shows since 1986, so that\'s a lot of drummers.

Obviously I can\'t compare the trio setup to the prior four-piece, but I will tell you that the energy was incredible. The guitarist pulls double duty on keys and guitar, and he totally makes it work.

OK, I\'ve got to make coffee and get ready for OU/Texas.

gauging after the Shag show, the boys seem to be full-speed ahead, the entire tour from hear on out should rip.

A vocoder (name derived from voice encoder, formerly also called voder) is a speech analyzer and synthesizer. It was originally developed as a speech coder for telecommunications applications in the 1930s, the idea being to code speech for transmission. Its primary use in this fashion is for secure radio communication, where voice has to be digitized, encrypted and then transmitted on a narrow, voice-bandwidth channel. The vocoder has also been used extensively as an electronic musical instrument.

The vocoder is related to, but essentially different from, the computer algorithm known as the "phase vocoder".

holy shit that looks intense.. Quixote\'s always has such a great appreciative crowd. i mustve went to 15 shows there when i was living in Lakewood, CO, and if the music was on -- the floor seemed to fill with boggie pants. i actually remember seeing New Monsoon there for the first time in \'03, they put on a great show, someone wrote a huge review on jambase for them the next day, and they started blowing up. the Colorado crowd is key in my opinion, there are so many jam-band folk out there who seem to travel quite a bit to see shows. at least that was the impression i got when i lived there. anyways, that setlist is huge, unbelievable.

I talked to Gavin today he said that this show was off the hook. He told me that at first the place was pretty empty but during  the intension jam the place filled up and people were gettin down. It sounded like this was maybe the best show / turnout of the tour so far. CO is heady! lets hope that broseph is in pacific north west and cali as well.

this was definitely the best show of the tour, at least attendance and energy wise.  it looked like it was gonna be a dooze when they hit the stage, but like georgie said, people filed in during intension.  it was something that the band really needed, a little spirit lifter after a rough week.  This show changed our attitudes and reminded us what we are here for.  musically, moorhead has the trophy thus far.  That was an amazing show also with a good crowd and energy, but it didnt compare to the energy in denver.  today we are heading for park city to chill for a couple of days which should be a blast.  take care folks, talk to you soon !!

by the way, the flower punk > drums is actually spunk > drums, my error on the text :  goodthingspunkdrums
