Now now joc, I didnt say Yankee fans dont do some rubbing in themselves, but in my own experiences I have been on the latter end. I for one know that MOST Yankee fans don\'t do the sort only because, well, simply, we don\'t have to . But like I said, my friends who are Red Sox fans, even people I don\'t talk to on a regular basis, seem to
feel the need to make it a point that the Yankees lost. Even after the Yankees beat the Sox last year in the ALCS they made it a point to call my phone after the Marlins won to rub it in, what is the need for such a call?  I had to shut my phone off after the Super Bowl too. Only New England sports fans can show so much passion to feel the need to hassle a non Patriots/Red Sox fan at any given time.

Note: this post probably makes no sense since I feel as I just completely blabbled my way through it, but I just can\'t put it correctly on paper/type my view, heh.

No way that was totally coherent I know what you\'re trying to say. I do have to comment that every time I am in the New Haven area, not even in fucking NY, I get hassled all night by Yankees fans. Regardless of how the teams are actually playing. Also I got 3 phone calls last night after 2 AM which were NY fans (well 1 was an Orioles fan) just calling to rub it in. I really think it goes both ways. BUT you are right, a Boston fan will probably never turn down the opportunity to give a NYer a hard time. It\'s an inherent part of a Masshole\'s personality. We can\'t help it. It\'s a part of who we are. You have to either love us or hate us, and we totally understand if you hate us. We just don\'t care!    :stoned:

not when it\'s uneeded, not when new york beat boston to get where they were even though they lost, not when it\'s a football game and I could care less who won/lost.,

I\'m sure it works both ways, don\'t get me wrong. But it just gets to me when people rub it in my face, that\'s all. I don\'t call them, so why bother me?  And as for the love or hate us, thats exactly it, it\'s great so I love the Boston fans for their passion, but  I hate that their passion extends beyond the game. And it does go beyond the game, that\'s what sickens me. How on earth can you actually approve of a \'Yankees Suck\' chant at a rally for the Patriots Super Bowl win? That\'s what disgusts me, that Boston fans can\'t even celebrate something, I\'m personally afraid of a Red Sox World Series win cos that\'s all that will be heard in Boston for months, is Yankees suck, then us Yanks fans will have to walk around with t-shirts saying "Us 26, Them 2"

Yeah it does go beyond the game, because, for many Boston fans, it is more than I game, it is a huge part of their life that was instilled from as soon as they were young enough to go to Fenway with their fathers. I myself leave it in the "game" status. But many don\'t. It may be annoying to NYers, but, it\'s pretty amazing from my end of the table!

BTW, a "Yankees Suck!" chant is always appropriate. Any time, any place.

I wouldn\'t say it\'s annoying, it\'s more of a. . .. . let\'s say. . . .hassle, yea that\'ll work. It\'s a hassle for people like me for sure, when I\'m more of a die-hard Bruins fan than a Yankees fan (hockey was a much bigger part of my life than baseball) and go to a Bruins game to hear Yankees Sucks chants, although now that I think of it, it is kind of ammusing.

any time and any place \'eh joc? if you even dare start a Yankees Suck chant at  a breakfast show in the tri-state area you may not make it out  of there

Note to self: Bring enough of my Boston friends for a chant to the next Breakfast show I can make it to. Well, except for Cafe 9, it\'s too small there....

Seriously though I can\'t believe we lost a season opener! :rolleyes: It just took Pedro too long to find his groove I guess. And Timlin? What the hell!? And leaving 14 guys stranded on base!? ugh

We\'ll see how Schilling does tomorrow starting against his boys the Orioles....

As a lifelong Sox fan who grew up with Red Sox wallpaper in his bedroom, I have to say that the Yankees Suck chant...sucks!  I am sick of hearing it after 4.5 years and 2 ALCS at UMass.  It is a rallying cry for the meatheads of the universe.  Listen to Baker Quad 5/5/1 disc 3, and at the end of the show you can hear all the meatheads who stumbled into the quad starting this chant to drown out the Psyche-B chant.  After PB played their best show ever, period, this is what some people chanted.  It\'s disgusting.  

Look, I\'m no saint, I go to Yankee Stadium when the Red Sox are there in my bright red Ramirez shirt with a Red Sox beach towel worn as a cape and stand on top of the bleachers getting in the eye of everyone for 5 sections and I even bring pro-Sox signs to Yankee Stadium.  (Just ask Pecoraro, he had the honor of seeing me in action.)  But I will not do the Yankees Suck chant.

Probably not the correct answer but yahoo! gave me this, 1990 Topps Baseball card set had 792 total cards, which includes Sosa\'s rookie card. Actually now that I look at the search again most sets had 792 cards in the 80s too.

I do the same at Fenway Wolf, for Yanks/Sox games, not that far out though. I just stick with my Jorge jersey, unbottoned with my 1918 shirt under and my yanks cap.

There are 792 baseball cards in a complete set of any year (this is at least true of Topps).

Wow, you guys are good.  I was looking for someone to get really nasty on me and give both answers the first time, but that\'s incredible work on both of your parts, I thought the cards in a complete set would come out much faster than the doubles record.  I guess the Internet really does have all the answers.
