Reba was just the jam portion of the song (I\'m pretty sure). Lexington heard it from a mile away, nice ears!

Living Daylights had to be aborted right before the lyrics since it was past 2. Damn shame!

Last night was one hell of a party. I passed out close to 6 (new time) but am pretty sure most people partied until they left this morning.

Oh, it was taped too. It should be on archive in a few days.

thanks for the hospitality jay.

thanks for driving bill.

thanks  for coming out bfast.

I don\'t believe they stopped playing between mfd and the tlatg.

I don\'t think LD should even be on the list either as they played only about 30 seconds of it.

best breakfast show I have ever seen.

hands down.

the setlist doesn\'t even tell the whole story for example \'space city affair" was more like a 15 minute off the wall improv.  just total insanity all night long. they let it all hang out like I have never seen.

can\'t wait for sterling stage!

Great fucking show for a show that almost didnt happen.  it was like we were playing the rebel base on the ice planet hoth....anywho, upstate NY is where its at........

Thanks to Dwight and Jason for providing the fuel to the fire.  Ser latenight, mario brahs, blind melon, eat a peach, derrik and the dominoes sessions circa 1970, Tommy......some good ole school ragin till the sun came up......

The second set was written as: Ep 1 > Mayfly, Vortex 3 (Matt\'s Journey Revisited), Rufus > Late > Rufus.....

However, the opening jam of the night was the true vortex, going on for what seemed to be almost 20 mins.  And the Vortex 3 Jam should be renamed Chauncy\'s Journey, as Chauncy The Truss Monster was whisked around the stage playing keyboards and drums.....

Truly inspired jamming all night long..a psychedelic experience for the ears and eyes from start to finish.......cant wait to hear this one.....

May Fly IS THE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

Hold onto your hats kiddies, cause Overexposure is coming and when it does, ain\'t nothin left but the cryin.......

Reba was a short jam on the part right before "The Chill" where Trey plays that lick, then the 2nd time page plays it and Trey is like a second behind "following him." Then right when they would start said "Chill" was the ending of the set. Pretty ser.

I agree with what everyone has said so far. Show was out of control. Highlight for me was probably the May Fly and all the new songs sounded great too, especially Synergy. TLAGT Jam > Rufus > TLAGT > Rufus > Reba Jam was beyond redonk.

No problem driving justin.... myself and the Explorer is used to the snow! Good to see everyone and party it up in the cuse for the millionth time in my life :)

Oh and the setlist said Synergy > Sylvia > Puppetry to close the first set. I guess they had to cut that a little short too, which is cool considering the bomb of second set that was dropped on the cuse.

The encore was a little weird (That\'s right motherfuckers) but those 2 sets were so insane we all knew they didn\'t need to do an encore, plus they ended the second set at like 1:57 I think it was, which was about to turn to 3 AM. So I understand about them getting the boot.

Post show party was epic (thanks Jason)..... and if anyone wants to take me on in Marble Madness for Nintendo I welcome the challenge. Not to toot my own horn but I pretty much own that game! That\'s what happens when you played it everyday for like 5 years or whatever.... that shit gets burned in yer brain.....

I can hardly wait to hear this show! Thank god it didn\'t go untaped. I might\'ve cried. Must hear material. Peace

Needless to say, I probably should\'ve headed over to Jason\'s with ya\'ll but my mind was running all kinds of wild on me... driving home was an adventure all in it\'s own respect... I live about 20 minutes northwest of the cuse, and drove into a good 3 feet of snow at home

this mayfly is a serious contender for best ever. i think itwas even grimier than the one from utica. jason, you da man.
the segue into rufus was really great. matt started playing late&great contrary to the written setlist. the band followed along with an instrumental version of the verses until matt unexpectedly started playing the rufus melody. adrain and tim were cracking up as the band eased into the rufus intro. the reba was incident hppened when matt started playing that melody that trey and page play, as fiery bill stated. matt was playing the melody, then tim started playing and soon everyone was playing the parts, but eclectically and not as in the traditional version, and then they played it as usual. fucking tight. pretty wild shit, it was cool to see matt totally take the reins and have the band follow him around.
chris did the same thing in mayfly. he started strumming bass chords andd created this jam revolving around the ser bassiness (kinda hard to explain).
good crowd, probably like 75ish heads in there

That was pretty good considering how windy/snowy it was outside. Also, all the Lemoyne and Syracuse students started their Spring Break on Friday so that also had something to do with it.

is that chris bowing (sort of) to matt?

i really wanted to go to this show, but i had gotten to oswego with my brother around 8, and the conditions there were literally the worst ive ever seen in my entire life.  just getting to the show would have taken over an hour, and it was a blizzard like none other up there (pretty much baldwinsville exit on 481 and north of there).  im really pissed i missed it though.  glad it was a good time.

All things considered, I didn\'t think it was that bad of a drive. It just sucked fighting the wind. But you go the speeds you need to for the condition, give plenty of room around other cars, take the off bends/off ramps at 30 or less and you\'re fine.

were you coming from north of the city though?  anyone who knows that area knows that once you get about 10 miles north of cuse, the entire world changes...trust me, the conditions were AWFUL.  My father was about 5 miles north of cuse and he said it wasnt that bad there.  up where i was on the lake it looked/felt like the end of the world.

I\'ll second that, DS...

I was up at my buddies parents Lake George house and the drive up Route 9 right along the lake was like drivin through Hades.  Trees were fallen all over the road, power lines down everywhere, no place to buy beer was open... luckily his parents had a stocked wine cabinet....

Looks like a wild show, cant wait to listen, thanks for reviews!

Well if you had already driven 50 minutes in the worst snow ever why not drive the hour or so in the worst weather imaginable to \'Cuse? I mean you already got through the worst snow ever right?

rant-I hope a good new venue opens up in cuse soon. we have had some amazing times at mezzanote but I am over the place. Time for the band to move on up in the emerald city. The neighborhood sucks, the sound is meh, the owners/managment and bartenders are not friendly, the downstairs is never open, no beers on tap, stale bottles, strict rules, mean security,  local crowd is often very thugish, and unfriendly, and that guy from hollerback I can not stand at all.  hopefully the wesscot theater or the other one open up soon.

I was talking to someone before the show about this. They recently renovated Planet 505 and the Westcott Theater across the street. I haven\'t been up there in a while but I\'m pretty sure both are ready for business. They are 2 blocks away from thousands of Syracuse students. Charge $7-10 their first time there, to fit the college budget, and the place will be packed to capacity. That block is a very popular area for students so promo would be simple and very effective. Great food across the street too. Though it\'s unlikely, they should try to get a show there before finals week (mid-May) if they can.

Hollerback Dan is doing the Westcott along with my friend Sam... I can\'t wait to see it when it\'s all finished... it\'s going to be the best live music venue in syracuse hands down... hauling all the cast iron theater seats out of there sucked... they were so heavy

so is it gonna be similar to higher ground then I wonder? same concept prolly smaller. never actually been inside though.

regardless bfast needs to get in there asap grand opening style and just rip it up and own the place.  hope they put a good sound system in.

the hollerback website news section confirms wescot is opening soon. also on their calender there is a string cheese side project booked for april 13th and it says "venue TBA" so they are probably hoping to have wescott open by then. might be time for the breakfast to squeeze in a gig before school gets out.

as we head out to the funeral, let me just say, that latg>rufus serness brought a tear to my eye...

how did you hear the show? is it up somewhere

Probably just from reading it in print. There\'s no way he heard the show where he was.

exactly. rufus is jill\'s all time favorite song. latg needs no explanation. put the two together with some reba magic to top it off and it seemed like an amazingly timely tribute/homage....

That\'s just plain stupidity.  Nothing close to being the truth in any of those comments.  Some of the best times/sound/atmosphere for the Breakfast has happened in that very room, in that very hood.  The place has only 1 simple rule:  Don\'t be a doosch!  Can\'t you follow that?  I guess not.  :rooster:  (shrugs)

I agree with spyder!! I have always had a blast there. They have really good beers, in bottles of course...waaa, and I\'ve never had a problem with the owners or locals. Why do you think I drive 4.5-5 hours to go to a show there? I REALLY wanted to go to the last one, but was feeling a bad vibe about driving in a possible snow storm. And I would have been given the time we would have left. I have no problem driving in the snow, but when the adviser inside me says stay home, I try to take heed. One thing though...DON\'T EVER stay at the Econolodge down the road!!!!

jeeze take a chill pill there guy. no need for personal insults.

I never said anything against the shows or atmosphere. I\'ve seen as many breakfast shows there and raged it as hard as anyone else and always had a great time and the band has always played very well there.

I actually used to love the venue as well, but it\'s gone downhill and gotten stale at this point and the boys need a bigger better stage in that town anyway.

That said...the neighborhood is shadey Someone was stabbed to death two blocks from the venue just a few weeks ago.

The sound is meh. To state some of the best sound ever heard at breakfast shows has happened there really makes me wonder what your referencing that claim against.

THe beer selection SUCKS. Maybe it\'s great if you like magic hat but I do not because they all have that same gross fruity taste. So that leaves you with a choice of four maybe five decent bottled beers at $4 a pop with about a 50-50 shot of them being skunky. Never seen a bartender buy a drink for me or anyone else and been ignored at the bar many times. Seriously it\'s not good vibes. It\'s not a bar owned and operated and frequented by people who are into live music. Go down to a show at river street or even castaways or the electric company the vibe from the staff and place in general is 10000 times more friendly and accommodating.

I could go on but I\'m not gonna bother.

The place was once a lot more chill and charming in my mind.

It\'s gone down hill though.

I won\'t be sad to leave it behind for something new which hopefully will be an improvement in all respects.

Def high percentage of skunk beer there.....any variety.......its like playing russian roulette each time you order a beer.......

PS has this show been posted yet?  I know, and I am bad with names, that it was taped by our regular cuse taper, but really dying to hear this one again.......
