Title: Favorite Shows of 2005
Post by: ccarmiencke on September 15, 2006, 07:46:55 pm
I am always curious to check out shows recommended by experts on the subject, so here on .info I am curious to see what some of the better shows of 2005 were.  This curiousity spun off of reading the Best Show Ever post, with a nice list of early shows that I dont have in my Breakfast Vault.  But I would appreciate the dirt on 2005.  I want to hear what you all have to say about this year, what shows were standouts.  I have just a few b-fast shows under my belt, all west of the Mississippi, and am looking for wisdom from the die hards out there.  Thanks.

As I said that weekend: The Puppet House is the candle that all shows will be held to.  And atleast for me it certainly still is.

Ans as Spacey said: you could feel the page turning.  < ab-so-lutely!

Yeah I consider myself one of the luckiest people on earth to have experienced the Breakfast shows I did last year back east.

Every single one of them are in my personal top 25 shows of my life except for UAC III but hell, shit blew up @ that show so it was special also!

My favorite show of 2005, and perhaps of all time is Porters 6/10/05.  For me an incredible show depends on two factors.  The first being how the crowd is feeling the show.  If the crowd is receiving the band well and rocking out, that intensifies the overall experience.   From my perspective everyone was equally feeling the energy.  The second factor comes from a particular musical epiphany that  occurs at some point in the show.  That epiphany came during Ep2 >WUIAC> Ep2.  In my mind that was perfect combination that touched something in my soul, and I\'m sure much of the audience could atest to that as well.  That was the type of moment I can recreate in my mind, and it still gives me goosebumps if I think about it today.  In general Ep2\'s roller coaster format easily allows an emotional explosion.  Adding Ep2 + WUIAC = SER Bliss.  Honestly, after Mooboos ended I wanted the show to end.  There was nothing the band could play after that, that could create such an emotional high.  I think 1 or 2 songs placed together can make a good show into unbelievable.

The wheel show was in April.
And I wasn\'t implying that this show was THE best, but def. one of them!!! Off the top of my head, I\'d have to say Porter\'s (forget which one) and Puppet House Sgt. Peppers for two of THE best! There were many and I was just adding to the list.
