This is exactly the impression I got from this band.  Way too much ego for my taste.  Should have gone to see wilco, instead.

who cares, like none of you here liked a band that had assholes or dudes with egos in it.  their music is like the best shit out there right now, in my opionion.  but hey, to each their own.  can\'t wait to hear this and i can\'t wait to see them, once their egos allow them to plan a u.s. tour...

The Mars Volta is the most frustrating act in all of music right now.  The talent is undeniable, but the direction?  I\'ve decided they don\'t want me to get it, and I guess I\'m giving up. For me listening to them is like watching LeBron James, if, during parts of every game he decided he really didn\'t basketball and sat on the ground and played with his headband.
