Title: **The Official Tim Palmieri^ Stage Banter Thread**
Post by: Stephengencs on November 18, 2004, 03:37:01 pm
Tim Palmieri is undoubtedly the king of wacky (and often corney) stage banter.  For me it is one of the many endearing qualities of The Breakfast.  After listening to the 5/24/01 Blues Cafe show last night, I wanted to form a thread where we could post funny Palmierisms as we hear them from shows, radio joe, etc......

Please lets try to just use this thread for the posting of such quotes.

^I would say it would be fair to post banter from other members of the band if stubled upon.

So, to kick this thread off....

"Do you smell what the Rock is cooking?"

or after Pearl street...\' ithink we got an album here\'..it will never be heard because its only on the original recording for Bona Fide but the way he said it was hilarious

An early (end of 2003) Timmy Tour moment:

I also remember Tim saying something that night about how this song (I think the Garcian>Tribal sandwich but not certain) was dedicated to "Chudweiser and Beaver Squats." This hails from a Junk n\' Jams Diesel Experiment from days prior at the Living Room where me, Tim, and Justin were among the 10 people in attendance. And that includes members of the Living Room staff. A great night of music and the first time I remember the Price is Right theme getting played (it both opened and closed the show), but to compensate for lack of applause following each song, we\'d occassionally yell out "Chudweiser" and "Beaver Squats" following songs. I still have no idea as to the relevance of those phrases. But that\'s what being in the Living Room for four hours with 10 people will do to you.

not really banter, but a lyric change:

Horse\'s ass surrounding me..

- The Vermont Song; Knitting Factory 11/26/04

tim actually improv\'d a lot of those lyrics at the end.. couldn\'t understand half of them, but i heard a \'beautiful women surrounding me\' in there as well..

but possibly the funniest thing on the whole recording was at the end, when all was said and done, you hear someone from the audience scream:

TURKEY TOUR BITCHES!!!!!!!!!

i\'ll let you guess who that was.. ;)

a funny one that come to mind was sometime back in 2000-2001... a doozie of a show @ the Colorado Brewing Co.... there were a few non-regulars there before they started playing, but shortly afterwards, they all got up & left.....

"Buquebus, Buquebus, Buqeeeebus" turned into "we\'llcleartheplace, we\'llcleartheplace, we\'llcleeeartheplace"

I always thought it debuted that night.  You are right Chris.  I have noticed that I have had several of my "facts" wrong lately.  I think Tim may have said we are going to keep playing some new originals after Dig debuted then went right into Escher\'s.  I thought it was the first night for all 3.  I never realized that it was played a few days earlier.  I used to be a setlist slut back then so I am surprised that I missed that one.  3 originals in one week is pretty major.

There are some great gems coming out of the 1-19-05 Richter\'s Solo Timmy show....

Here is a great verse from the Hard Luck Harry that night.....

"Was he a danger taker
Inebriated.....Hey watch your halfyards okay?
A Crazyeazer....A Crazy Scaezer???
Looking for road head...Freddie what are you doing out wandering?
It was more serious
Lane appreciation
He loved white lines.....what lines are we talking about here?
The risk decimation"

Then after the end jam part, Tim drops into this lounge lizard riff and....

"hey!!!!!!!!...
thanks for comin out tonight everybody....
your lookin beautiful, can I tell you that....
don\'t forget to tip your bartender, alright?....
I\'ll be here at the Copa Cabana every Wednesday"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was definitely some classic banter on this past tour.  I wish I had remembered to document it.....

The one great one I can remember was from Vancouver I believe.....
It was towards the end of the show and in between songs when Tim looks over to Ron and says, "Hey Ron, how are you doing" (or something to that effect)....Ron just looked at him and then away and they went into the next song.......Classic Chit.......
