SO this has been done for the band, but how bout Timmy Tour.....
I\'ve been trying to get Tim to play Sunday Morning Coming Down (maybe change it to Thurs?)
Also (more of a Tim and Adj thing but..) I would love to hear Paul Simon\'s "Late In the Evening" Honestly don\'t know if that\'s even possible with the horn part and what not, but anyway......
-
I think he should play some Smashing Pumpkins. has he at all?
-
he has only played today. rocket and cherub rock have been played in side projects, but not in 3+ years.
-
Cop Killer by Body Count

breakfast played it 2 years ago today at porters. jimmy t sat in on guitar and they played it without tim. ron sings that tune.
-
i\'ve always wanted to hear some neil young, Hey Hey, My My, or Cowgirl in the Sand?
gotta put a plea in for some ween here too... maybe some Pandy Fackler? Freedom of \'76?
-
best ween song EVER= Piss Up a Rope!! would love to hear Timmy do that one
-
I would love to make a guess appearance on vocals for Pandy Fackler
-
you can piss up a rope and feel the pissy dribble
you can piss up a rope and watch me giggle
for the last six months I\'ve been packin your bags,
you can wash my balls with a warm wet rag
I know, I know I amuse no one but myself, that\'s ok though cause I ammuse the shit outta myself.
-
I would love to see Tim play "Sage & Spirit".
-
that would be sweet. what about Loser, but GD instead of beck? uncle remus or cozmik debris would also be out of control

Sublime-smoke two joints
  Great call!!!
-
freedom of 76 is a good call, helpless would be sweet
and any seu jorge bowie
Life on mars, queen bitch, rock and roll suicide, starman et. all
-
Freedom of 76 would been quite a tune to hear him play, not your normal TT song.
-
Poopship Destroyer by Ween
-
Poopship Destroyer would be quite a tune to hear Tim play, not your normal TT song.
-
Sublime-smoke two joints
while i agree on the song choice, it is SO not a sublime song.....
kids these days not knowin\' their roots.....
;)
-
Freedom of 76 would been quite a tune to hear him play, not your normal TT song.
i doubt tim can even hit those notes, they get pretty high and definitely out of his range, but i\'d still like to see him try it.
are you ser with the poopship destroyer?? lol that would clear richters out!!!
-
Top ten reasons why we smoke two joints:
#10 They mate for life
#9 1 is lonely, and 3 seems greedy
#8 One good twist deserves another
#7 Too stoned to count to three
#6 Better safe than sorry
#5 Why not?
#4 Every doobie needs a brother
#3 We forget we smoked the first one
#2 It makes us feel allright
and now (drum roll 2 joints please) the #1 reason we smoke 2 joints...
#1 High Tolerance!
rotfl
-
I want Poopship Destroyer with Wah on distorted Vox and Tim throwing everyone into a shit frenzy using his Boomerang and drop D notes.
-
quick trivia~ anyone know who originally wrote Smoke Two Joints? hint: it\'s NOT the two guys listed on the sublime album notes.
i\'ll send some kind of freebie to ya if you can figure it out.
-
Jim Croce?
-
 not quite.... but with the quality of songwriting, i can see why you\'d get confused....
-
I can hear it in my head right now.....
-
wasn\'t it The Toys....or something like that.
-
nope.
this is kind of an unfair question, as i don\'t think they ever released/recorded another worthwhile song.
-
The Toyes or Bob Marley
The Toyes are a band described as a cross "between Bob Marley and Bare Naked Ladies" (Jim Foley, KXCI, Tucson). They are the original songwriters and recorders of the song Smoke Two Joints (not Sublime nor Bob Marley), which can be found on their debut album, The Toyes. For the story behind Sublime\'s cover of the song, there is an exhaustive description on their website: http://www.thetoyes.com (more specifically, http://www.thetoyes.com/smoke2joints.html). The band is well known for their use and advocacy of the legalization of marijuana.

Oh snizap
-
huh... then good call todd. i owe you and spacey a freebie. how about some jon stewart and something else?
i was told that it went from a florida band named The Windjammers to a guy named ron (whom i heard the story from and i know well, who learned it from the windjammers while on vacation) and his band Foilball, who showed it to the Yams from Outer Space in the 80\'s, who then spread it around to a bunch of folks, including the guys who showed it to Sublime.
but i guess i\'m wrong.... (http://www.phishhook.com/board/images/smiles/icon_redface.gif)

bold are "hell yeaa"
underlines are "hell no
everything else is indifferent/dont know the song
I have a million suggestions, but the first 2 that come to mind are:
Presidents of the united states of america: Naked and Famous (give me a "hell yea" if you know this awesome song)
The Salute Your Shorts theme song: would be a GREAT closer when everyones smashed up
-
Presidents of the united states of america: Naked and Famous (give me a "hell yea" if you know this awesome song)
I\'ve been trying for a long time for some Presidents. Though, I\'m not sure Naked and Famous would be my first choice.
-
Dave Matthews Band - ANYTHING (i still can\'t believe there\'s not a single dmb song in tim\'s catalog)
I can. I\'m being an assole I used to like Dave, but it just doesn\'t seem very "Timmy" to me.
Presidents of the united states of america: Naked and Famous (give me a "hell yea" if you know this awesome song)
Todd and I had talked about trying to get the trio to play either Lump or Peaches (if for their recognize-ability as PUSA songs if nothing else) as I remember the idea was quickly and immediatly rejected, but that was the trio.
oh and....... *clears throat* ...........hell yeah........
-
When I suggested PUSA to Tim, I got: "Lump?" from him. I said "yes". Got a thoughtful look...and that was all. So...I wouldn\'t really call it an outright rejection. Hopefully it made him ponder and entertain the thought. :chin: That being said, I think I may bring it up again this weekend, sometime during our 13+ hours in the van. :yIkEs:
-
sounds promising....

Dave Matthews Band - ANYTHING (i still can\'t believe there\'s not a single dmb song in tim\'s catalog)

Moonlight Mile
i love this song!! the vocals might be kind of tough though...
hey hey what can i do?
never heard of it.
i\'d love to hear tim do deal (gd), some van morrison, road to nowhere (talking heads), this must be the place (talking heads).. it would be cool to hear any sublime, but i guess he\'s not much of a fan.
-
One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
I listen to way too much I-95 (Danbury area classic rock station)

cocaine???
-
cocaine???
been there done that, classic Timmy tour
-
Presidents of the united states of america: Naked and Famous (give me a "hell yea" if you know this awesome song)
Definitely need some Presidents, but forget "Lump" and "Peaches"...I wanna hear some fucking "Kitty"
Also, I\'m surprised he has played so many Weezer songs and not played "Say it Ain\'t So." That song was made for an acoustic guitar sing-a-long session.
Also:
Ween - ANYTHING...specifically "Bannanas and Blow", "Chocolate Town", "Transdermal Celebration"
-
It was really just between those two for easy recognition. Kitty would be great, I\'ve always been a big fan of Boll Weevil and Body. Oh and Back Porch, and Naked and Famous, really the whole album is great. (other than We Are Not Going to Make It the only song I skip nearly every time) now I gotta go dig this album out. :)
just saw via google search that they just put a new album out (3/08) "These Are the Good Times People"
-

IMO - Say It Ain\'t So = best Weezer song going. I may be wrong here, but I think I\'ve seen Tim do this at a Richters show...
Ween - he\'s been playing Baby Bitch a lot lately, but you\'re right, there are so many good Ween songs he could play. Transdermal would be sweet, Flutes of Chi, She wanted to leave (nothin\' kicks it up better then a sea shanty).
-
Ministry - Just One Fix
-
Ween - ANYTHING...specifically "Bannanas and Blow", "Chocolate Town", "Transdermal Celebration"
can i include: Help Me Scrape the Mucus off My Brain and Voodoo Lady?

Semisonic - Closing Time (seriously the best last call/last song EVER)
While Timmy\'s solo repertoire has certainly become more mainstream and modern since the 232 Wooster days (not that it\'s a bad thing, just a fact), "Closing Time" is walking the thin line between overplayed and obnoxious even if it\'s the first time you\'ve heard it, in my opinion.
-
stop being such a debbie downer, drew!!!
-
stop being such a debbie downer, drew!!!
Yeah, c\'mon.....you all know if you were wasted enough and it was the last song of the night, you might be forced to like it for a mili-second...its inevitable.

as embarrassing as this is to admit, i could see myself being drunk and singing along even tho the song indeed does suck. (although the only words that are coming to mind at the moment are the title words...)
god so bad. please DON\'T play this.
Closing time - time for you to go out, go out into the world.
Closing time - turn the lights up over every boy and every girl.
Closing time - one last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer.
Closing time - you don\'t have to go home but you can\'t stay here.
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
Take me home...
Closing time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from.
Closing time - this room won\'t be open \'til your brothers or you sisters
come.
So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits - I hope you have found
a
friend.
Closing time - every new beginning comes from some other beginning\'send.

Exactly. its one of those feel good sing-along songs.
I am not saying its the greatest song every written, but damn freaking catchy when you\'ve had a few shots. ;)
-
That song makes me feel very, very bad. It is one of those songs that makes me feel like someone is rubbing a Brillo pad on my vagina. No offense.

I was gonna make a comment here, but I couldn\'t really find one. And if I had one, it probably would have been inappropriate in about seven different ways.

"I just had the strangest senior prom flashback."
Yep, that\'ll do it.
-
"I just had the strangest senior porn flashback."
:wah:

I sometimes love belting out songs that i hate.*
*I am not endorsing the Timmy Tour performance of "Closing Time", nor the use of Brillo pads on the specifically female area.

Couple of interesting choices here.
Last Caress is a short but sweet "throatkicker".

i\'ll rape your mother today

piano man - billy joel :wah: err maybe not
Lifeboy - Phish would be sweet though. I know it\'s not the best phish song or even that great of one but I think it would fit in really well in a timmy set.

-
Like the Warren Zevon ideas - love that guy\'s stuff.
Bit of real retro prog stuff I can\'t get enough of lately since I saw them live: Stackridge - google/wiki them. Too many songs to list, but I throw down the challenge gauntlet to Tim to play both the flute and violin solos on much of their stuff.

HOW ABOUT A NEW ORIGINAL? I dont think it\'s too much to ask at this point in time. One new song. I have heard Tim make up songs for hours........It doesnt have to be the most prolific song, or the most super composed heady arranged masterpiece....how about a new song about breadcrumbs, or clouds, or velcro sneakers.........come on timmy....
-
there was talk of M.E.M.P.H.I.S. last night...once Tim is settled in Ansonia
