Weather permitting, this should be great exposure for Tim.  And I\'ll be able to stumble home from it.

NOT CANCELLED YET!!!   I\'m working on it with the owner.  The guy who own the new French Bistro has been complaining about the noise (asshole).....If the show happens..it might get moved inside...More details Tuesday 7/17...Stay tuned

and by the way.....DON\'T GO TO THAT BISTRO!! and tell everyone that the food sucks.  10 years of outdoors music never a problem.  In one month that asswipe complains so much that they shut it down. We have to run that bastard out of town!!!

I\'ll get you an update ASAP....Chris (Caitlin\'s Dad)

That\'s bad karma brah.  I personally think their menu looks intriguing and can\'t wait to indulge myself. Also, it\'s Spanish cuisine, not French.  Personally I feel Milford has never offered that much in terms of entertaining outdoor music.  I hope more upscale restaraunts settle in downtown Milford, we really lack them...

But this doesn\'t mean I agree with the cancellation.  I hope you manage to work it out!!

Sorry for the confusion- Yeah..The Switch Up^ gig is up in the air as of now.....Hopefully we can straighten this out.  Stonebridge has 7 hours of music outside a week for only about 8 weeks out of the year and this prick (excuse my french...lol) at the Bistro has been complaining to the cops and to city hall.  There is a law about outside music but it rarely gets enforced.  When COD played the cop on patrol there said we were fine.  The owner of Stonebridge got a call late last week and told him he has to stop. (cancelling Tim\'s gig)  ALL BECAUSE OF ONE GUY...THE FRENCH GUY WHO OWN THE NEW BISTRO NEXT TO SUBWAY ON RIVER ST. He wants ALL music to stop and has even been complaining about Daniel St.  He says he can hear the bass coming through the walls.  THE MAN IS SICK.  I think he hates that Stonebridge gets all the business...the reality is that Stonebridge attracts enough people to downtown Milford so all the businesses can do well.  If anyone has any ideas about how to change this..let me know.

Meanwhile...check back and I\'ll have an update soon about Sunday.  I\'m hoping to atleast get it inside with the hope that Caitlin and Boys can draw a good crowd.  Possibly Daniel St....

Peace, Chris

I wish it was that simple.  I\'ve been on the phone with Richie and his hands are tied.  There\'s a law on the books about outdoor music.  This guy is calling him on it and the city is getting pressured to enforce it.

What a shame/sham. The outdoor atmosphere was superb, especially with kids. I really hope this stays outside, I can\'t imagine  why a band can\'t be playing outside during the day. This is America, land of the free!!!

1. I\'m eating dinner at this Bistro tonight.  I hope to enjoy a disgustingly overpriced spanish tapas meal, which will include several glasses of wine.  Then, I plan on telling this dildo that he\'s fucking up downtown with his stupid noise complaints, the meal sucked and I\'m never coming back and telling everyone that I saw a rat walk outta his kitchen.

2. I was talking to the folks @ Seven Sea\'s the other night about this noise situation, when another patron chimned in that they work for Cafe Atlantique (the coffee shop on the other side of the Bistro), and the dildo is screwing up their shit too with these noise complaints.  Apparently he lives above the Bistro, with an infant baby.  They can no longer play their satellite radio outside because they are "waking up his baby".

3. Rumor has it, he\'s also complaining about Daniel Street.

4. On a side note, Chris (Caitlin\'s Dad):  you know you can start threads about these Switch Up gigs, instead of hijacking other threads, right?  Just an observation.

Sounds like a good plan Slim.

Sounds like this guy wants a quiet neighborhood to raise a family. Anyone knows that downtown is not that place.

Doesn\'t make sense to me. He just must not like music in any way, shape or form considering Friday and Saturday nights at Stonebridge there are hundreds of people outside, and it probably gets just as loud with chatter as it does having music out there on a Sunday afternoon/early evening

The really odd thing: last sunday KC101 set up shop @ Stonebridge and was C R A N K I N G their music.  It was louder than I\'ve heard any solo acoustic act get over there.

I totally forgot about that... too many bud skirts.

^^^Seriously!

Does the whole local music scene need to dry up because a guy won\'t get his act together and get a more baby-friendly environment.  I\'m sure there are other units for rent in the town.

wouldn\'t be a bad trade.

Is this Cafe Altantique or something? Looks like they hosted a little shin-dig on July 12th with other business downtown. The cafe was playing light jazz in the background, yet the little "tour" ended at Stonebridge (co-ran this thing) with a DJ outside.

I think the ordinance just pertains to "live" music, not DJ\'s.

The actual ordinance states that "outside music be limited to pre-recorded music played at talking volume." How they judge "talking volume" is beyond me. Are we talking drunk Walsh or sober Livvy?

update---I spoke with the Mayor of Milford.  He\'s going to try to resolve this issue by having a meeting with some of the downtown merchants including Conine (Stonebridge) and PrickFuckHead (bistro).....  Hopefully that will work but I hear the bistro guy is totally unreasonable and wants Milford to be Sesame Street.  He wants total silence from everyone...

and thanks for the separate Switch Up post comment....It\'s not that I wanted to hijack a post...it just seeemed to fit here.

I like the idea of running the bastard out of town by telling everyone his food is shit.  Someone with attitude like that must cook like shit anyways.

I saw a rat, a cockroach, and had a hair in my food.......service was aweful and the drinks sucked...how\'s that for a stellar review?

Anyways let all meet at Daniel St. at 6 for the Switch Up^ show and on a break go and trash frenchy\'s place!!  We\'ll all go in a just order water and talk really loud, take all his seats and then leave telling we\'ll be back tomorrow to do it again.

And last..he\'s trying to get daniel Street shut down because he claims he can hear "the bass through the walls"

He\'s a sick f**k.....

Again, why make bad karma for yourself when it sounds like this guy is going to self destruct anyways.  Conine "owns" downtown Milford and has A LOT of pull. The fact that this issue made it all the way to Richetelli\'s office is laughable.  This Milford n00b doesn\'t know what he\'s up against. If Richetelli wants a political career he\'ll give Richie whatever the hell he wants.  I give the bistro two more months at most, but chances are he\'ll fold and move to East Haven.... ;)

I don\'t know about that.  I ate there last night and the place was jam packed.  On a freakin\' tuesday night!!  Having a couple business owners not like you is not gonna close your doors.  Even if one of them is Richie "Daddy Warbucks" Conine.  Not everyone in Milford likes Richie and his hooch factory.

My meal:  so-so.  small portions, high price, but different flavors then 99% of the places around here.
The owner:  Exactly what I imagined.  He looks like a bug-eyed ferret that someone pissed on.
The service:  pretty bad - even when I first got there and it was quiet.
The drinks:  top notch.  B I G glasses get me every time.

I just hope the mayor steps in and tells this guy to can it.

Depending on how Slim was flying, that could have an affect on the outcome.

We needed a scout. Slim was it. Now that we have a layout and such we can finalize the scheme and try to take over the world, er, bistro tonight and again tomorrow if we fail.

I had the absolute WORST experience at this restaurant... I went to eat there with two friends yesterday. It wasn\'t busy at all, but the server took an hour to even seat us, then it took another 20 minutes to take our order. After that, the food came out cold and I found a few hairs in my food. It was overpriced and dirty! I wouldn\'t be surprised if this place goes out of business within a few months after the "newness" wears off. :( I was really looking forward to eating there, but I\'ll NEVER visit the place again!
