Watch the tomatoes

The FDA has issued a warning regarding the consumption of uncooked tomatoes. Apparently there has been a salmonella outbreak related to tomatoes. They aren\'t sure exactly where it came from yet. I don\'t think most of us are in the high-risk areas, but you may want to avoid them anyhow. It is safe, however, to eat tomatoes off the vine, as well as cherry and grape tomatoes.

Most fast-food chains have already stopped serving tomatoes.

Yup. We have tomatoes, hot peppers, onions, some herbs, and a few fruit trees here, but it\'s still not enough to avoid the produce department. I try to go to the local farm stands as much as possible though. One can often find better quality produce that isn\'t shipped here from freakin\' Brazil, and supporting local small farms is a good feeling.
