I made a bet with Tim last night about the Gong song, "Eat That Phone Book Coda". He was convinced that the band has been playing the "Oooby Scooby got the DDT blues etc" and i bitched and bitched that they WERE in fact playing "Eat That Phone Book Coda". Then he said he couldnt find the lyrics on the net etc.. So today I emailed him the lyrics.... so tommorow either we\'re getting an all Zappa set or "Eat that Phonebook Coda". Probably a "Phonebook"... As long as Timmy checks his email before tommorow night!!

after an incredibly scary slippery drive to utica... there was nothing better than the electric company\'s warm welcoming vibes to thaw us out and the breakfast to melt our faces.... what an incredible show !!!!! i couldn\'t move from the front of the stage for the entire first set, it was out of control, great way to start the show and set a fantastic pace. every time i hear psygn and hear where the boys go with it, i like it more and more and more.... last nights version was no exception.... jam> CMSS second set was also a highlight....
glad i didnt "stay in to study" as the original planned called for ;)

The setlists that have been written as of late are fantastic, not 100% sure of the motivation behind it all but I did hear something, not sure what though it is now but I do remember somthing.
EC is definitely a party and Utica is hardcore.
Great time of Friday night which climaxed during TGSOT.
Eschers lately has been really good. The VT Song sounded a little reworked or was it that Ron\'s bass on Friday was making the place vibrate. It was during this song that I really noticed how loud Ron was. Which is nice.

Psygn has devloped greatly since the first time they played it. It was a fantastic version. Some of the best jamming of the night until TFA which absolutely owned the first set. Like many of us there, this may jave been one of the best 1st sets to date.
First time I heard Phaddy in a long time, which was a good relfection of the way my entire weekend went. I really enjoy Cut Me Some Slack lately, a very good version IMO. Then this happened ------->

Dirty funk in One Big Mob sandwiched between well awaited Fairy. But the real shit of the night was when Tim asks the crowd if they want to hear one more and then precedes to jam in TGSOT instead of a short and sweet song. The show at this point could not have been topped and I honestly could have done w/o the encore but an epic TGSOT that could not be topped was followed.
This show gets a high rating of 9. Factors based on the raging parties, some ser and some very weird upstate New Yorkers and the mere fact that the breakfast have been simply on fire lately.

what a way to spend stevie\'s bday..
i (along w/ elisa and carla) managed to keep my mouth shut about us coming up to surprise stephen in utica. the scary drive was totally worth it once we got into utica and settled into our hotel room where we began to deal with a blow up doll and some of the shittiest pizza i have ever had in my life (later on that night i managed to eat some more of it before blacking out in a chair).
there is no better way to describe the show as being anything but incredible. awesome first set, definitely one of the best i have seen. second set jamming into quality conrol was great!! anyone who likes jurassic 5 needs to hear this show!!! can\'t believe the song selections that ended up making the set list. i stumbled into the green room during setbreak and tried to make a few requests, but honestly don\'t remember what i requested and sort of hope i requested any of the insane songs that were played.
anyways, good times..utica is always a blast especially with the bfast caravan of retards. i think you guys are trying to kill me.

yeah it came out sounding great. i clamped onto the speakers and aimed the mics at the center of the room/crowd. if you liked the way my last 3 breakfast porters recordings sounded you will love this.

OK. This show is such a blur it\'s scary. I believe the acid kicked in right about the time of
Psygn. See the light remains one of my favorite live tunes and helped ease me into my trip. The Tribal Sandwich began my descent into madness. (Gavin if you had anything to do w/ that Tribal I thank you from the bottom of my heart).
Now during setbreak I had no idea who i was or where I was. I did find a couch and proceeded to do my best to meld w/ it. I kept looking up to see Dave w/ this big shit eatin\' grin playin\' DJ and then all of a sudden the band is back and playin\' J5!! Hell yes!
The second set basically took my mind,dismanteled it ,put it back together and then SMASHED it !!!!!!!!!!! I never took Acid @ Phish because i did not think it wise. Why I thought PB would be easier to handle I have no idea. I\'ll say this though. This band can create psychedelic beauty w/ the best of them. One big mob sandwich and TGSOT! E: Acid Queen? Too perfect!

I was very much where i needed to be. I was a mass of jelly and was basically being kept together by the confines of the couch and the vibrations emanating from the stage.

dave was in the rarest form i have seen him in on friday..he came up to me, steve, elisa, and carla sometime around setbreak and dragged us to the bar for shots. i was very grateful, thanked him and then we all dispersed around EC. no more than like 5 minutes later, dave came back with this crazy twinkle in his eye, got me and was buying rounds all over again. i should of known something was up when he was rapping along to quality control. even though dave was wasted, i think EVERYONE there was an absolute mess. some people handled it better than others. the last thing i remember was getting back to the hotel and devouring that nasty pizza in a chair in the room, next thing i knew it was morning. whoops.

I love drunk Dave, the guy that has the twinkle in his eye the whole time he is drinking, even as night has worn into morning. The weird part is that he seems to defy the concept of diminishing marginal utility (whereby you derive less pleasure/happiness from each additional unit of consumption). Example: last NYE, Dave was just excited as the last round for each shot of Sluts, even after dawn.

I knew it was not jus t me trippin\' hard. Listening to this show again w/ my friend Ed. I told him during the Psygn jam how hard I started trippin\' and he says" Yeah \'cause you never heard them play like this before huh?" I mentioned it was a new song and it occurred to me that I have been thinking about this show and how much of an effect it had on me. The Breakfast are growing musically very quickly and it is showing in the way the newer songs are played. Ed totally thought that what he was hearing was stuff they had not been doing. I told him that this is the direction they are going and he was stoked! It\'s cool to hear his perspective as he likes them but only hears them when over my place for some reason. So he hears shows w/ rather large gaps of time between. To hear his appreciation of the band\'s direction is cool.
