Well it is quite disappointing.....one of the few times we distant fans get a chance to be part of the bfam live along the band and online fans.....taken away

few times?  the last two mondays were streamed, as was the providence show as was many other shows over the past year.  if anything we\'re lucky to have been able to see shows we weren\'t at in the first place, why does it have to become the expected situation?

and i talked to them about it friday and quite frankly, it doesn\'t bother me one bit, i watched the past two weeks, but if its a nuisance for the band, which it is, then its their call and i respect that.

The band is confused with what they want as far as taping.
For Kung Fu they liked the live casts. Now for The Breakfast run they don\'t.
The band thinks their shows aren\'t up to par. The crowd is screaming louder than ever.
Maybe the music is just for the people who make it to a show & that\'s the end of it.
Yet quite a few of distant fans look foward to hearing a recording & having a live cast.
The selling of recordings just never works out. Someone in the band won\'t like the show & it gets scrapped.
 I\'ve just been doing my thing & filling up my you tube with hundreds of clips.
I have enough clips up of The Breakfast & Kung Fu it doesn\'t matter if I keep taping them or not. When we do show up to tape, I\'m not sure if we\'re welcome or more of a pest.
If the shows aren\'t taped, I don\'t think the band cares anyway.

I\'ll be there with a Zoom. They aren\'t going to care if somebody tapes in a way that isn\'t "in their face" during the show.

Honestly I can see how Tim might get bothered with a camera right in front of his guitar for the entire show -- even though I do like the videos.

Probably when you start doing video again.. take some steps back from the stage, and it might not make the band feel self-conscious about it.

What r u gonna tape it? Yeah right. How can u be sure? Matt and Ken are very reliable as is the equipment they use. Other tapers such as tuna are not. I understand as in the former case they r there to tape and enjoy the show as they can while in say tuna\'s case the recording is entirely secondary. So do I hope he remembers his rig AND to assure it\'s working or bitch and moan in hopes the band will see the stupidity of stopping webcasts? Oh and there are other Bfast fans that don\'t come here who are bewildered why the band would be so stupid.

I\'m about as reliable as a 1998 Subaru Forester with 208134 miles, with a tendency to get a bit too drunk or too stoned to remember which button to press.

I won\'t be smoking or drinking much tonight since I have a cold. Maybe that\'ll work out for the better?

you don\'t think i would enjoy watching it as well as i have the past two weeks?  i most definitely would.  but i know the venue is far from ideal from doing it from the band\'s standpoint.  there\'s barely enough room on the stage for the 4 of them as it is.  i\'m willing to sacrifice my selfish reasonings for the people that do make it to the show as it would be most ideal to have the band be as comfortable as possible to play for the people in attendance.

Well seeing as this was never actually the problem rather a misunderstanding between Matt/Ken and the Band sacrificing your selfish reasonings isn\'t necessary but thanks.

Exactly. Getting a LIVE webcast is a privilege, not a right. It\'s been a totally free service.. way above and beyond what any band does, without asking for anything in return. Expecting one every single show is just absurd.

I do think that the shows should be taped/archived. I love listening back and revisiting old shows. Hell, the LMA is what really got me into The Breakfast in the first place. That said - it\'s also a privilege and people come off as really entitled and whiny when they call the band "stupid" for not wanting cameras in their face. I can respect that. I hope that a recording will be allowed.

Just my two cents. I know I\'m not a vet, but I love and appreciate the band and hope everyone is just happy and thankful they\'re playing. Hope to see you all tonight.

First no one ever said it was expected every show and the POINT WAS MADE THAT THE ENTIRE RESIDENCY WOULD BE WEBCAST so yeah expecting a webcast that was announced waaaay in advance is totally understandable.

Second,THE BAND NEVER SAID THE CAMERAS WERE DISTRACTING IN ANY WAY BUT JOKING SO yeah they would be stupid to not allow a webcast for such a poor reason. THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS AND CAN DO THEIR JOB WITH PEOPLE RECORDING THEM.

My understanding was that initially there was some level of uncertainty about web casting shows in general, due to time, commitment, money (?), etc. Yes, it was announced all 4 shows would be streamed. Perhaps things have changed and there are other factors.

 NO ONE EVER SAID THEY WERE ENTITLED TO WEBCASTS and the fact is the band did stand by their allowance of webcasts and guess what there will be a webcast because it was all a misunderstanding. So take your self righteous attitude and stick it.

As a complete newbie here but someone who has many years on most of you - Ken and Mark excluded - The true beauty of live music is the interaction of the musicians and the crowd at a live show. the energy exchanged between the two can be magical. Go see it live, participate in the process and consider yourselves lucky if you can get an audio and/or video of it.  Oh, and by the way, be nice to each other

Just read the whole thread. Without repeating a lot of what has been said, just wanted to say I definitely feel lucky to have the breakfast in my life, and I\'m always so happy whenever I listen to them or see their shows. It\'s a great community of fans to be around, and the guys in the band are swell too.

Thanks to the tapers, I have enough musical entertainment from the LMA, the cds, the DVDs, youtubes, etc. to last me forever I think. My mind has been blown so many times by this band it\'s absurd. The amount of shit-eating grins I\'ve had because of them are countless. I appreciate it so much and just try to enjoy it while it\'s going on, that\'s all we as fans can do, that and be excellent to each other like Bill and Ted would say.

Monday was such a mindfuck I still can\'t even believe it. I got home at 4:30, got an hour and a half of sleep and went to work, and it was totally worth it, like always. Every song was played awesomely but I gotta say STL > Puppetry was my highlight. The jam out of Rufus was pretty sick too. Merge encore? Crazy.

Seeing May Fly, Rufus, Reel Time, and Spunk on 9/19 was cool, since I saw all those songs on the 9/19/09 two show day, Branstock and Sully\'s. That was a good day. On the way home, my brother said a line he normally always says after we see a Breakfast show: "Tim\'s guitar must be the happiest guitar ever, because it gets to be played by Tim." Nice to see the SG for set 2, I think the last time I saw that played was NYE 08 > 09? The breakfast.org picture, btw.

Anyway, I just put together a made-up setlist for 9/26, figured I\'d share it. It\'s something I enjoy a lot, making up setlists when I\'m bored.... good times! Here ya go, to quote the Mezzanotte crew, "Let\'s Go Breakfast!"
