I\'m not sure if it is confirmed or not, just heard it kicking around a little. I think it would be a nice show there. Place will definitely get packed, no doubt.

Yes

I googled Gypsy Co-op. They have no event listings yet. I am not sure if this is the same place but I am almost positive. It has been referenced to by jambase, so I think it is. It looks like a cool little spot.

Here is the website (http://www.gypsyco-op.com/).

There are some images of the inside on the webpage.

If this isn\'t the right place, I apologize in advance.

1st: Quit answering a quote with the quote after your answer.

2nd: Try to book a gig. Go to the Century Lounge and ask them to try and book the band for the said date. If this venue can accomendate the band then there is a chance. Even email Tim and see if there is a possibility.

Shows are not going to get booked on .info

The Danials Street is on on 21.  There is a new Canadian show on 26... Pepper Jack\'s in Hamilton, Ontario.

There are holds in various upstate NY venues being solidafied now around the Canadian dates.

I kinda have an ill feeling that Umphrey\'s is now going to play two shows in Providence since the last Breakfast show here (I think, I could have my dates mixed up). I\'m not usually one to bitch, so don\'t take that as a wine and cheese comment. But, as Mr. Wski says, the Century suits them very well, not too big, not too small, good sound, good lights, good vibe, but for some reason drinks are more expensive than they were next door, oh and its usually 18+ for the youngins.

Note to whoever:
Book the Century, if possible, book it with Fungus Amungus as the opener, and bill it a co-bill, let them play between sets if needed. While they are nothing spectacular, they are usually a fun time and are starting to take more risks. They are also local to the area and draw a good crowd because of the localness and if there was a double bill with the two, I\'d predict the venue would fill its 200 person capacity. And 200 people in there would feel like alot more, and we all know how the band feeds off the crowd energy.

thanks,
Ant

Looking at the calender for the next 3 months it seems as if the breakfast is going to continue to be a weekend weaksauce band for at least the begining of 2006.

They are never going to make it anywhere if the breakfast remains a weekend thing like this.

There are 25 or so dates on hold routing a tour almost to the coast.  When its done it should go all the way.  Thats all I can say till its done.

There is nothing I can say to convince them zurflu.

I have tried believe me.

They refuse to play oneonta.

The pub and the largest, most dedicated group of breakfast in New York is simply beneath them at this advanced stage of thier careers.

The pub and the largest, most dedicated group of breakfast in New York is simply beneath them at this advanced stage of thier careers.

THey figure the oneonta fans are all dedicated enough that we will travel to utica, albany, cuse to see them but fans from those areas are not hardcore enough to will not travel to oneonta for shows.

Which is true but its still rude to the fans in this town to make them travel everytime they want to see the band in exchange for thier support and dedication to the band.

If it were not for oneonta the breakfast would have about 20 less hardcore fans and about 50 less avid fans than they do and one less light guy than they do now.  Plus there is a fresh crop of hippy college kids here every semester just waiting to be turned on. ANd they still dont even care about snubbing us for no good reason.

Also the pub is a small venue but they have never sold the place out so thinking they are too good for a venue that size is just being arrogant.

lol OK so you are saying that w/o oneonta\'s support The Breakfast would be where?

if it is 20 hardcores(fine TRAVEL) 50 less avid fans? OK so that is 70 people,IF ALL of them make the show.

I have no idea how big the Pub is but I figure it is the better move to schedule shows in Bigger cities rather than play a small venue which has not sold out yet even though there is supposedly so much Bfast love there. hmmmm

I can see your discontent Klout. College crowds are a huge base for The Bfast but selling out a small venue in what seems to be BFE I would think is low priority as well it should be.

As for them not having a light guy w/o Oneonta. LOL

LOL all you want but if they never played this town they would almost certainly not have ellis as a light guy. maybe they would have someone else but they didn\'t seem to be having much luck at finding one till they came here and ellis did lights for them at the pub.

If hooking up dedicated fans is low on thier priority list I can see why they are still a struggling bar band after 7 years.

YOu can also scoff at 70 fans attending thier show and being really into the music all you want but that is more locals than they will get that actually give two shits about the music than any other city in new york. Hands down.

With out the support of oneonta crew, the rev hall show and many other shows around upstate NY in the past years would have been total and complete flops. I have been at shows in NY where there were the local crowd consited of 15 rednecks sitting at the bar getting wasted and the oneonta crowd consited of 30 kids throwing down in front of the stage.

I am not saying that the otwizz fans are going to make or break thier careers obviously. But we dont deserved to get dissed by them like we are now.

It\'s just a jerk move and bad buisness on thier part. No two ways about it.

All fairly valid points but I do believe you put much too much empahsis on Oneonta\'s influence AND the perception of being dissed.
There are larger contigents of fans throughout the Nation that can claim just as much influence......

Well I just think its a dick move.

I could understand never wanting to play here again if the town had never given them a successful show, or one new fan, or one raging after hours party, or none of what it has but it has given them all those things many times.

They are just stuck up about it and in denial of the fact that they are still a bar band.

It might come down to money Klout. Maybe they just can\'t play there because the money isn\'t right. The band is walking a thin line and perhaps the venues in your town can\'t to afford them for the gigs. If this is untrue, which it very well might be, then I am all out of ideas on the subject and will go back into my hole.

Post by: Klout on January 06, 2006, 10:06:16 pm
yea thats maybe even what they would say it is but throwing an oneonta show into these syracuse, utica, beardslee runs once in a while would not sink thier ship or anything. Worse comes to worse they make a lot of dedicated fans happy and a few hundred dollars profit.

I was talking to my buddy Pete last night about the lack of tour dates. A few years ago they would play all the time, whether it be in CT, Mass, RI, or New York, point is The Breakfast were working their collective asses off on the road.  I\'m just confused as to why they slowed down especially now when the jamband market is HUGE.  They\'re sitting on a gold mine......
Title: January shows???
Post by: Spacey on January 07, 2006, 03:40:31 pm
Maybe the bands needs a little time of for some rest and creativity. Even thought they were "weekend warriors" they did play consistently. Perhaps they wanted a few weeks off to get back in touch with themselves (remember why they are doing this) before getting back into a full tour. If these tour rumors are correct that it will stretch coast to coast, then we are already ahead of the position last year.

I also don\'t believe in taking a break in the music industry but sometimes it is needed. Tour, Tour, TOUR and play 2 sets every show, especially when time is made for it.

My point was, that the band just wanted to take a break. They just got a new booking agent and it could very well be, they are just waiting for a few things to fall into place before having an active spring, summer, fall and winter of 2006.

If the band wanted to take a "break" it was totally poorly thought out. YOU DO NOT TAKE A BREAK AFTER RELEASING AN ALBUM!!!!!!!!
Unless you are satisfied being weekend warriors and a 2 bit bar band.

You guys need to take a break....from over speculation.  The band break was scheduled.  Why? Because they wanted to.  Dates are aggressively assembled, both to fill in the east coast and a national tour in March and April.

Tour dates will be announced shortly.  For individual dates you might be best to keep an eye on the Crescendo calander.

Nice to see that the Saturday shows accomadate my working schedule. Perhaps we can get 2-sets in Northampton this time.

Mill Street is a ser venue. Really comfortable and a nice place to groove.
