Title: Puppet House....been waiting 3 years [MERGED]
Post by: delfunk1 on July 05, 2005, 03:16:18 pm: I\'m so pumped The Breakfast is playin at the Puppet House in late August not only once but twice. I remember that since that place has a basement underneath, the floor used to feel like it was gonna cave in. So who wants to bet if Episode 2 is played, the floor will give out and we will all end up in the basement?

It will be interesting to see what they choose. Will each member pick an album and then they learn it? 4 albums from their 4 influences?

I read the above as "They are playing full album covers since there is NO recording"

not what was originally written that someone confirm what Tim said because there is NO recording of what he said. :)

Faces would melt indeed. Just knowing the pure respect that timmy has for Zappa, I would doubt hearin\' this album. I jokingly called out "Panguin in Boundage" at a Timmy show, and the Palm looked at me like I was pure out insane and said (something like)... "yeah, if I had a 12 piece band..." Maybe in 5 years after they blow up and he can hire an orchestra....

Yea Floyd\'s Animals would be awesome, speakin of that, The Machine will be covering the entire album @ toads on 8/19. Too bad, I always wanted to check out the machine.

They have also played 4 tracks off of "The White Album", but that\'s a 30 track album. They\'ve played 4 tracks off of "Mother\'s Milk" (3 in the database + their cover of "Fire")

They have played three songs each off of "Abbey Road", "Are You Experienced?", "Blues For Allah", and "Electric Ladyland".

we\'ll see, but i dont think theyll be crunching anything in. theyll throw in a ton of their own jams ontop of already perfect covers.

Hes got a huge tank that is like 50 lbs or something. I personally don\'t have a tank and wouldn\'t be able to drive a 50 lbs tank 2 hours to the show. If i could get my hands on a smaller tank i could easily get it filled. Don\'t have any idea how much they cost or where you can get one. Anyone has any info feel free to let me know.

I made the final decision last night slept on it and found 3 cheaper rates than last nite. That sealed it. Well that and how many times is my favorite band gonna throwdown 3 set nites back to back w/ full album covers thrown in?

I get in the night of the 18th so I will probably find a room for the night if I need to wait for a ride the next day from someone. Either way I\'m going. Now should I buy my tickets online or can someone just p/u the tix and I\'ll give ya cash when I see ya (Todd?)

I spent 3 hours exhaustively(sp?) searching out deals and believe it or not priceline met my offer within $20.00 so I took it. Round trip costing me under $325 taxes included. With less than a weeks notice I figured that was the best I was gonna do. cheaptickets.com had a few deals but they slipped through while I was hemming and hawwing the idea.

You should have no problem. I mean I only bought them this morning and the show is 5 days away. I am sure with even a notice of only a month you could get a ticket around $150-175 r/t

Yeah I cannot wait to meet all of you that show up. As for your Sat. gig hell a breakfast show one night and then YOU get to PLAY on Sat. somewhere seems like the best of both worlds well if you were opening for The Breakfast sat. then I guess that would be the best huh? Well seeya fri.

Also I do not mean it if I give you a slight dirty look if you happen to try and talk to me during a song it just happens nothing personal. I\'m selfish that way when listening to these guys.
Oh and if you find that I am not very talkative,believe it or not it\'s just me being me. I am in no way ignoring you or not listening. No really.

Donation is $25. There will be plenty of yellow beer and mixed drinks, as well as food to fill your stomach before the drinkfest to follow at the theatre. If anyone is interested PM me or shoot me an email abachinski@flgcorp.com (before thursday evening) or abachinski@snet.net. I understand $25 is pretty steep, and don\'t expect too much interest, but hey why not put it out there, ya never know. If you feel you can eat and drink your money\'s worth in a couple hours feel free to do so. . .

I checked expedia and hotels.com and so far have found the cheapest rate to be the best value inn in branford. Wondering before i book it if anyone else is gettin rooms in the area or if anyone found a better rate in or around branford.

Hey now. How am I pushing buttons? Todd and ChrisF seem to not take offense. I was just remarking on the fact that a band as small as The Breakfast having a taping section was humorous. What I can\'t think something is funny w/o offending someone on the board? I actually think that the amount of tapers there are for this great band should NEED a taper section soon just @ this point it sounded funny.

So yeah I\'m coming from Cali to see this small band but I am a little crazy to do so in the eyes of most of my friends. Do I care no? Why? Because I LOVE The Breakfast and they are playing an unusual set w/ the covers and all. To be truthful I probably would not be flying out if the shows did not have the album covers as I will be seeing them @ moe.down.

A combination of the two is also a possibility. I\'m sure at least one of the two albums will be one of the biggest of the classic rock era.

a) I honestly don\'t see 250+ tickets being presold, so you should be alright, but I\'d buy Saturday\'s ticket Friday night.
b) I haven\'t been there in close to four years, but last time I was there, yes you can just haul in a cooler, many of us did.
c) can\'t help ya there, I have it downloaded but don\'t even have CDs for myself to burn it
d) my guess would be bar time (2)

I doubt that the Classic Rock era can be stretched forward to include anything from the 90\'s. I believe that people are including more music from the 80\'s in the classic Rock category these days, but the line is clearly drawn before the 90\'s alternative phase kicked into gear.

One size fits all is the zappa album with Inca Roads on it. It\'s the same era band as Roxy, apostrophe (\'), over-nite sensation, etc. This is considered one of zappas best lineups by many fans.

she pulled/strained/fugged up a nerve in her neck that\'s been giving her shooting bursts of temple pain for the last week or so. last night the doc gave her some medicine, so we\'re gonna have to see how it works today and play the weekend by ear. which is a bummer on every level. hopefully she feels up to it. knowing her, it\'ll take more than this to keep her from her boys!

way to take the initiative here, seth. just one thing to keep in mind if you write the review, which you hopefully will. you have to START with the real NEWS of these shows. it\'s not that the guys are playing 27 hours of music at the puppet house in a two night run. an editor\'s first thought might be, "ok, so..." and if they\'re super busy, they might never read down to the more interesting info, which is that the band is going to cover a classic rock album each night. so start off with that info right away, and then get to the more typical details about the where/when/etc. of the shows. i hope this makes sense. (and sorry if this sounds obnoxious, but i\'m just trying to help out.) good luck.

My new job just started this week, after zero income for 1/2 year. All we need to do is hold another two night run at The Puppethouse in a month or so and I\'ll surely attend the duplicate run.
