Definately got way too out of hand..... :emb:
it is a message board, but that particular thread was getting out of control.
Tricia aka. The Grip aka. Trish The Dish has become a great friend to me and a lot of people in this scene. One of her greatest attributes is her personality/sense of humor. She dishes right back whatever gets tossed at her and does it with style. This was a "Grip" appreciation thread. Since it did get a bit out of control and was, as Fitzy put it, no longer about appreciating the "Grip", I decided to delete it.
I am all for free messageboard speech and don\'t read it if you don\'t want to see it, but when Timmy has to come out and make a statement, I felt it was time to go. Especially when this forum and the music is growing so well, and after all, isn\'t that why we are all here? This is not about people changing who they are or what they do. It is about a bunch of like minded people having a great time with great people, listening to and BEING a part of AMAZING music and respecting eachother........

Aww sorry if I was responsible for the deletion of the grip appreciation thread. I wasn\'t against the thread as a whole, just a couple of comments that were an assault on my sensibilities.
btw, I home none of you are taking my last thread too seriously... ;)

Thank you Steve. I had the the pleasure of finally meeting Tricia last night. I can tell you this, she is one of the nicest, most hardworking peeps ever to bartend a bunch of maniacs.

For the record, Timmy was responsible for the removing of the thread. The guitarist from the band of whose message board you are on, shouldn\'t have to make public statements about its members posts.
That thread needed to go...

well duh. it has just been a point of contention in the past. I know Steve knows what\'s up but as everyone is saying there are new members that may think the band owns this site which it does not.

Who gives a crap who owns it. You and I have $ signs under our names, that means we own it too. The purpose of this site is to support the band, and all the negativity and personal attacks lately ain\'t doing it.

There have been ridiciulous personal attacks on this board since I joined. I was under the impression that this site was intended for Fans to talk abt their favorite band The Breakfast. There is a forum where people that want to help support the band can go and discuss how to do so. I believe it\'s Dig. This thread was in the Spunk (haha) forum NON Breakfast related crap. I believe is what this forum is all abt. I love how Dave moderates/ does\'nt moderate this board and all of it\'s forums/threads. I find it pretty silly that Tim posting caused a thread to be deleated esp. a thread in a non Breakfast related forum is all. as for owning the site. I do not feel I own any part of it I am actually giving $ to help Dave keep the board up as I know it can get expensive non conditionally ya know?

Regardless of who "owns" and/or "runs" this board, message boards of this type (by and for fans of a particular band) are representations of the band and the fans. When the guitarist of the band comes on the board and expresses disapproval in things that have been said, and here comes the important part, in a thread that I started, then I will most definately delete the entire thread. Everyone who starts a thread has the ability to delete the entire thread that they started (a great feature if you ask me), so Dave had no say at all regarding the deleteing of the thread. I actually couldn\'t believe that it went on as long as it did...
I think this board does a great job in representing what The Breakfast, their music, and their fanbase is all about. Ball Busting is something that will always go on, and nobody does it better than some of the people who post on this board. It provides laughter which is good for the soul....if you cant laugh at yourself, well then you\'re fucked in my opinion...

Steve I figured Dave did not delete the thread as he usually gives a reason for closing/deleting a thread. I figured since it was in the Spunk forum which in it\'s title says is for Non- Breakfast related discussion it has nothing to do with the band so why would someone base their decsion about the band around something in this forum? Like Tim said don\'t listen to him. You folded brah;)

This isnt about what tim said or what represents the band. Steve deleted the thread because it was extremely disrespectful to a friend. This goes way beyond the breakfast. If you dont understand that you are a fucking asshole. How would you like it if we made a thread like that about someone you cared about? Does it make it ok just because its in the \'spunk\' forum? Screw the breakfast and this web site because they have nothing to do with what happend.

I\'m a fuckin\' asshole because I believe in freedom of speech? Dude you obviously have nvr read a post of mine. Come On. It was rude but damn it\'s wasn\'t that bad. If it was soooo horrible it would have been deleted sooner I am positive. Joc is made of sterner stuff than what you guys are giving her credit for from what I can tell from her posts. As for being disrespectful to the "Grip" What did you xpect from Freddie? Sheesh lighten up.

freedom of speech is cool, but its not ok to disrepect someone behind their back just because its posted in the proper forum. I dont think anyone even took freddie that seriously.
Maybe your opinion on the whole issue would be different if you actually met tricia, but you havent because you are all the way over on the DENSE coast.

the fuss isnt over the original statement that freddie made. its because you said it was alright because it was in the \'spunk\' forum and shouldnt affect peoples thoughts toward the band. like the band is more important than giving someone the respect that they deserve.

Man do i feel important. LOL I caused this fuss by defending someone\'s right to be crude. Well that\'s never gonna change. I do believe Freddie apologized for his comments but i will not apologize for playing Devil\'s Advocate. If that makes me an asshole so be it.

Well I commend you on your unbroken streak of being respectful to everyone. Is this streak since you were born? The cynic in me totally disbelieves you have nvr been disrespectful to anyone. for the record, Dave doesn\'t read every post/thread on this forum every day. i actually didn\'t even know tim made a post till it was talked about in this thread, and i have no idea what it said. i\'m only one guy. if i see something, i usually take care of it. but if i don\'t, i can\'t.

the botom line of this wholw thing is that it got blown outta proportion on a huge scale....im meant no disrespect to trish..matter of fact,i love the girl..shes my alltime favorite waitress in my alltime favorite bar...ive shared plenty of good times with trish,and shes truely a wonderful woman...that being said...
yea,whatever,it was questionably uncouth...whatever...i didnt mean to offend anyone.i thought it was actually quite funny.i do,however,admit it was probably the wrong thing to say..but,i was joking..i think its time for people to start worrying about more importantn shit..i love the band,nobodys can question that..i want the band to be successful,again nobody can deny that..i dont want to hurt the band in any way..i was shocked when i was repremanded by jpalms..not necessarilt good at all for that to happen...but ill say it again,i appoligize for my comments,and ill try ot behave a little bit better..no fuckin gpromises though!!!see yaal in beantown!

I deleted the thread because it was getting out of control. It was done in the best interests of the band and this website. Wah, dont go changin...Stay Gold Ponyboy.
And as far as Leiths comments to Fitzy....
Leith, you are out of your element on this one......(and not in that Walshy sort of way either).... This is east coast business.

Laugh @ how much of a fucking baby he is. I don\'t give a fuck abt his taping,if he\'s gonna be a little bitch and get all sensitive. Fuck man The Breakfast is not the only band around. I like to argue w/ people that can handle it ala Wah. Chris just proved to me that he is a liar when he says he respects everyone equally and I could care less if he joins Wolfman in putting me on his ignore list. They can play w/ each other. Seems to me he got bent over nothing really. That is what happens when someone can not accept another\'s point of view they either freak or ignore you. Both of which ChrisF has done.

Wow, now I get it. You like to argue. Most people I know don\'t, and in my book, staight out arguing should be avoided since there is nothing constructive about it. I prefer discussing things in a non-confrontational manner. I\'m amazed at how you can form opinions, usually negative, about people you have never even met. If Chris and Wolf are assholes, so am I, and I will join them in their good judgement by putting you on my ignore list.

It\'s not the fact that I like arguing but that I like to look @ BOTH sides of an issue. I believe everyone should be open to other opinions whether you like them or not. It is what people truly respectful of others do. My opinions can only be based on what they post. Most of their posts to me turn personally confrontational BEFORE I have done so. Read them and you will see it is true.
