let\'s talk about this show, shall we?
ho.
lee.
shit.
absolutely enormous. my first breakfast boat, and WOW. freakin\' HUGE!!
\'Ahoy\' opener was expected, but *really* did a great job of setting the tone for the evening. the Barley was pretty huge, followed by Eppy 3 which was loads of fun. language was typical - got the boat hopping a bit, but what followed was the definite highlight for me - raging No Regret and Son Of Simpleton with my boy mikeyhelluvahat, back from north cackalacki for one week only! an incredible feeling up front, and i can\'t NOT mention the Space Oddity, which was also quite stupendous.
setbreak was well-timed, but the comeback blew me away. i\'ll have to listen to it on the recording, but i thought the Munchkin Invasion jam was completely seamless, and siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!! wow. one minute you were listening to the Biscuits, next minute Breakfast. awesome. the rest of set 2 can pretty much speak for itself - just look at it. WAAB was a fun way to close out the evening.
Food For Thought was written down as an encore, and let me just say i am VERY glad it didn\'t happen. i think it would have been horrendous placement, and would have taken away from ending a GREAT show on a good note. some may say the same about WAAB, but it was really well placed.
just wow. i am reeeeeeeeeally wanting to go to burlington tomorrow night now.........
-
oh, and great to finally meet OMS and fizzlefest!

When I looked at the finalized setlist and saw FFT as the encore, I said reeeehhehheeaaally?? Bust-out that hasn\'t been played much, yes. Encore song to close out one stellar night, no!

There\'s room.
Kudos to the three newbs that saw the band for the first time in Gansett and came down for the cruise!!
-
I\'d have to hear it, but I would think waab belongs in the same place as born to be wild on the rotation :puke:
Don\'t get me wrong, I like the song. I just think it\'s kind of cheesy for a band like breakfast to cover.
-
setlist looks pretty solid. nice to see there weren\'t any repeats from the 4 night run either. brahlington is shaping up to be a rocking night. this is my only free weekend until mid august so i need to keep it local this weekend.
-
great time!! the real razz-ma-tazz!!! definately my kind of show. thank god i was able to run and just make the boat. wouldnt have wanted to miss this one. first set was completely over the top and the second didnt disappoint either.
as a 3-time boater, i thought this was a better boat show than last year\'s but the second boat is still the best boat show.
-
I guess WAAB is kind of Fourth of Julysy, no?? Great show in any case....Whineberg.
-
fuck this.
I quit. I\'m down with work.
-
loved every second of the show...however i agree about WAAB, not really a fan. i think the TFA was the highlight for me.. peck nice meeting you for about 2 seconds ha

I had so much fun! Bugs,Mooboo\'s were the highlights for me...
Many thanks to Duane for buying the newbie Jim a Deuce CD... hope to see him @ some more shows in the future!
It was nice meeting you OMS (I think I\'ve met you before, but it\'ll be a few times until it\'s a permanent place in my brain - just ask Nermel or Ren). Oh & JimCobb - I guess I haven\'t beat your posts yet, but it\'ll happen if you\'re not careful enough! ;)
.... I can\'t wait for Brahlington :bancape:
-
way to get me all worked up over nothing! i\'m still gonna spam away just to make sure you don\'t catch up ;)
-

Sit down, Walsh. Get a tight grip on that handle.
-
this thread makes me sick every time I open it. glad you all had fun.
where is the recording? how long do we have to wait?
-
had an awesome time last night! solid show..great atmosphere on the boat. i was so glad to see so many people out regardless of the shitty weather. if i have to pick out highlights..space oddity>son of simpleton, tribal and mooboo\'s owned. honestly, the entire show was something else. the guys were truly on fire last night. if i wasn\'t in nyc right now, i would be figuring out a way to burlington.
**also it should be noted that greg ellis sat in on cowbell during we\'re an american band.
-
nice to see greg ellis doin something productive on tour....

We listened to Chris\' recording on the way up and :holyshit: It was so hard to tell when the band started in and when it was just the band. Great job!!

Was nice meeting you too! What a kick ass show!!!! Can\'t wait to listen to it again. I\'m already looking forward to the next cruise. :disco:
-
Sounds like a blast. Great Ep3, Ep2, and Tribal-wich.
Also, there is a "Karma Police" tease in the opening to Space Oddity.

confirmed. good catch, drew.
-
Pfft. Stupid work/living too far away. I really dislike most of you at this point. (I know, I know, it\'s mutual.)
WAAB... god I hate that song. Uber cheese.
Everything else looks incredible...
-
would have loved to have seen you there joc.
-
Likewise...
*sigh*
-
Awesome 1st boat cruise!
Twice as glad I went, when looking a the calender I can\'t see when I\'ll catch another show.
Did just buy my ticket for my all favroite band CLUTCH on the boat though.
Great meeting some of you face to face for the first time too.
-
good to meet YOU sir.
-
i thought the Munchkin Invasion jam was completely seamless, and siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!
They should play more of the genre and throw in some Foreigner - I wanna know what love is ;)
Tim created a layer of thick spacey loops last fall in S.F and should do so more often.

:rip::pout::violin::doh::sadban::sigh::asskickedf*ck f*ck f*ck wish I went !! :boat:

From the Boston Boat Cruise, to Block Island, to Narragansett, to Albany, I would say that the NYC Boat Cruise contained the best 2 sets of the Boating With The Breakfast run.
The jams were tight, original, innovative, as well as intense. The Beef Barley contained, what Tim like\'s to call, "the stoned R2-D2". It is basically a crazy effect that he gets off of his Magic Stomp pedal. He was playing around with it during soundcheck, and upstate said that he should throw that into Beef. Great Call...
The Episode 3 had Tim abusing the SG like a red headed stepchild. It was crying the blues for Buquebus.
The Language was heady as fuck and caused the releasing of some serious birds.....
No Regret was a nice heavy break to all the headieness.
The gem of set 1 was the Space Odditiy > jam > Son of Simpleton. The jam was a trancy, rocking, funky, and grooving, with a seamless segue into SOS. Pure delight....
Set 2 kicked off the way Set 1 ended. Ser Bisco jam into a seamless transition into Love Lake, which hasn\'t been played in some time........
The Tribal > Surreal > Tribal was a real treat as Surreal has been dormant for some time and it was wrapped in one of the freshest Tribal jams I have heard.
Bugs, a great heady jammer to to cleanse the pallet after the insanity of Tribal Surreal sandwich.
However, the gem of Set 2 and possibly the entire night was the Episode 2. For some time, back in the day, whenever you heard Ep 2 starting, you knew you were in for a ride. This ride was by far my favorite Ep 2 I have ever seen.......So now I have Albany Rufus and NYC Boat Cruise Eppy 2.
The american band was, I thought, a perfect way to end the night. A rocker by some ser rockers. If you haven\'t been part of tearing a hotel down with this crew, then the charm of this song may be lost on you........Ellis on Cowbell = priceless....
Either way it was an amazing night out on the estuary..........
-
... caca.
-
just finally listened to some of this show
LOVE LAKE
MOOBOO\'S
holy fuckin shit
that is all.
