I have spent the last 7 years in college and need to get out. I am currently, until tomorrow, in a class about the Holocaust. My final project is to get 20 people to answer the following four questions. It is nothing more then a public opinion poll. Answers are not right nor wrong, it is simply to discover the publics perception on the Jews.
I would greatly appreciate the time and effort anyone puts forward that chooses to help me out here.
I hope that this is not too much thinking. I need this to graduate or I will be offically become a doctorate canidate this time next year.

This is a difficult little subject because as a human race we have been trained to believe the worst about the Jews even though many of us have never truelly even thought about it.
There is no offending people here. It is a poll to capture the perspective that many in our society and world have. Many people that I have asked, in person to take this poll, have refused because they don\'t have the capcity to think outside of their narrow minds.

Think about this: the bible is over 2000 years old and noone really questions it authenticity, yet, a book like the Di Vinci Code which is a semi fictional account gets beat on because it opposes or shows you a different view.

Well it could be because many people and events in the Bible have been verified in other historical documents written by people OTHER than those that wrote the Bible.

As for those that refused your poll in person why would that make them incapable of thinking outside their narrow minds? Maybe they just did not want to take part in a poll or maybe they felt these issues are private and have no place in a public poll. Maybe they felt that you may use the information for no good. Heck there\'s a bunch of reasons why they may not have taken your poll.

I wish I could spend the time to try and explain the 2000 years of history that culminated into what had happened in the 1940s. It is very delicate material that you are dealing with. Very easy to misunderstood. I would rather explain it to you in person. HA, and me sounding like Joe, not a chance guy. I am a history major with magna cum laude. what I tell is real. but I enjoy you intuitiveness.

Yeah I get that. I wanted to be a History teacher until I realized that much of the History that is taught in today\'s public schools only goes to reinforce the divisions in Race and Class prevalent in today\'s society rather than help diffuse it. History in todays school and education is nothing more then crap. Kids need to know their history because it tells them who they are and where they came from. But History is suppose to teach you to question things, to think analytically. I refuse to be a teacher because it is like babysitting.

quick lesson for you all, yes, you are all going to learn something here.
the spelling of the word anti-Semisitism is WRONG, there is no such thing as a semitie and you can\'t be against them. however, antisemitism means to have feelings against Jews. my father thought the figure was around 20 mil in the US and 50 mil in the world.
6 million killed in the Holocaust but since the death of Christ many millions of Jews have been slaughtered...

Can\'t believe Bob Michael is offering the course over the web. He is retired and living in Florida so it doesn\'t take much effort for him to place the notes he has had for 35 years on the web.
The only thing I have left from that course was Bob Michael\'s chronology of the Holocaust book. Otherwise, I think the paper is pretty easy. Just evaluate the responses. I\'ll ask my dad (interestingly another professor you took a course with) if my old paper is saved to the home computer.
I think I asked my dad if he knew you last fall but he didn\'t seem to remember.

I have that same book too
teachers have a lot of students and I was really a stand out in psych. but I did do my work and never gave trouble to the teach...
this paper/course although dealt with a tough subject was the easiest course I taken. done entirely through emails. read and answer this question.
UMD is so against giving teachers money, this is probably the only way for him to retire.

I might have given my dad a misleading discription of you when I asked if he remembered you from class. I told him you could be best described as having a hippie appearance, though I was just making an assumption at the time.

I was there one time with my buddies who i had to watch as they rolled on E in the club. Some guys stag party was there and they pull him up to the center of the stage. When they were done, the girls stole a pack of 10 E\'s from his pocket and made it seem like it was lost. Somehow they knew about the E. They are smarter then we think...

The Poles were one of the toughest resistances to Nazi Germany. The last to fall before the US stepped in a bomb the shit out of them. I went to Auswitz when I visited a bunch of years ago. Hard to explain in words the sights and still the smells of that place. One memory that will be with me forever.

the 14th is shaping up nicely. should be a barrel P&S style. go out see the Providence sights and post game back at the house.
