Title: The Breakfast: worth checking out?
Post by: stejampzy on March 22, 2004, 06:51:13 PM
They\'re playing next month in Minneapolis for $5! I guess they just won the highly presitgious Jammy for best new band. Any experiences? I\'m listening to some tunes from their website right now and they sound like an instrumental version of Phish.

I saw them once and it was good, I though they had a bit of a Zappa influence thing going, but since Phish has a Zappa influence thing going too, maybe that explains it.
for $5 you can\'t go wrong

I just caught these guys for the first time tonight. Jezuz, they blew my mind!
They are worth any price of admission. I can\'t believe they\'re not big right now. They definitely make my rotation of bands I will tape a lot of. As far as jamming, they get it. They really do. Check them out if they\'re in your \'hood.

They cover a mean Zepplin...last time I saw them they broke out a raging Moby Dick, drum solo included...it just about floored me...

They did a sick "No Quarter" last night. And a solid "Shakedown Street". Outside of that, I was hypnotized.
If they told me $25, I \'d pay it.

The Breakfast\'s Drummer, Adrian Tromantano is incredible. I made the mistake of assuming the guitar player (Tim Palmieri) had all the chops and education in the group and asked him about his influences. He told me the usual, Hendrix, Beatles, Zappa, etc then he said his drummer, Adrian, was his biggest infleunce! Humble man is Tim, humble approach to their music.

They should be so much bigger. My friends carried me out of the club in a paper bag that night.

1 of the main reasons why I own a rig. Have been seeing them since 2001.
Great guys, great tunes, they love to have a good time. Josh their soundman is one of the good ones. They have a fairly new lighting guy who helps to bring it all together. It would be great if they got to play some better venues but 1 of the few bands that gets me out the door
