Should have played Dig for the encore after that one.

Timmy sure did rip after he got her off of him and the proper adjustments to his pedels.

great time last night. hillights were no regret>merge>no regret, wolf incredible "whens the last time they played 2001?" a full minute+ before the song started, 2001 itself, watching the nature documentary unfold before us with anderson, hanging with jocelyn for the first time in over a year, I\'m your mandolin-fucking-playing-captian ripping shit up, and of course, the legend of stanley clarks hair.

next stop moe.down! peters, get your shit ready, we leave friday! :P

I understand, it must be easy to slip when you\'re P\'s are so M\'ed that they\'re leakin all over the floor.

definitly one of the best shows i\'ve seen.  2001 was unreal and completely made my night.  these guy were on fucking fire.  everything just clicked.  so great meeting ya joc, and i wish i coulda hung out longer but my ride needed to bounce right after the show.

definitly still not sure whether i should never pick up my guitar again, or practice furiously every spare second for the rest of my life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last nights show had some ser moments of epic Breakfast......
compared to Sullys the night before, where the band grabbed me and held me in the air and spun me around all night, i wasn\'t grabbed at porters untill the NASTY 2001 in the second set....then it was all over....  The Episode 2 was insanity.

I am still waiting to hear a new friggin song.  For the past 3 shows, I was hearing rumors about new song being played tonight.confirmed....horsepucky!!!

There was some great moments in this show. No Regret>Merge>No Regret>TFA was monsterous, TFA alone was heavy. I am becoming a big fan of CMSS. Message in a Bottle, I can do without. Doughboy was rockin\' and is a great set closer.

I enjoy hear WPOAC, always a nice treat. The real gem of this show was GP&KwM>2001>Drunk Monk Bar. 2001 had a jam in it that made me forget they were playing 2001 until they went back into the 2001 build-up. Happy to hear D5. And MV(ep2) is always welcome, I am glad that the set ended after this song.

Lot scene is always raging. Especially when Pete from Pete and Pete is hanging out in his Cadilliac Escalade blowing rails.(http://www.cs.indiana.edu/~jfrens/pete-and-pete/pictures/youngerpete.gif)
He is also the bassist for the opening band, Jounce.

Good show but it left me unsatisfied. It definitely rocked just wasn\'t enough epicness to feed my hunger.

I believe Ron can be quoted as such: "The first time it happened it wasn\'t funny, the second time it was hilarious. Like a turtle on its back."

To me the show was a typical Breakfast show. You get what you expect. I was only really pumped when Gladys > 2001 came about. Mooboo\'s Voodoo was expected.

This is just my opinion. Having seen the band 7 times in the last month, my expectations are high.

Something was definitely different about last night. The entire scene didn\'t feel the same.

don\'t get me wrong, the band played an excellent show. Setlist outside of the Message in a Bottle was well constructed as many of the last months show have been.

After seeing the band so many time this year and this month alone, my expectations were not met. Maybe, I have been spoiled by the life changing 3rd set of the Puppet House. Like Me! said last evening, every show will be held up against the Puppet House saturday.

After 6/10/05 Porters I held every show to those expectectaions.  Those weren\'t met until 3rd set of the 8/20 Puppet House. To top that show a week later would def lead to *more* casualities at the feet of TPalms.  I would have to aggree with Spacey that it was a great show, but in no way can it be spoken in the same sentence at the Puppet 3rd set.

Timmy Tour this week will be my last Breakfast hoora for the summer for me, pending I have transportation.  I discovered after the Porters show that my car is leaking brake fluid, so hopefully I can get that fixed by Wednesday.

Also I was quite worried that seconds before the show began Stephengencs was nowhere in site.  I figured if Gencs isn\'t at a Breakfast show then surely he must be dead.  Then just as the first note was played I heard his signature "yeeeeeeeeeooa" thats when it felt like a Breakfast show.

cause i wasn\'t there! nah j/k but i wish i coulda made it.  And I just think that since it was the end of the "mini august CT tour" some people were expecting a culmination (sp?) of sort, but i personally think it couldn\'t have culminated any better than set 3 PHT.  And yea i know its prob not smart to compare every show to the puppet house, just setting yourself up for dissapointment.  But i think that anything they played in the wake of that show was going to be overshadowed.  I think once they get some shows in some diff venues (states for that matter) the steam will start to build again.  And don\'t get me wrong, i wasn\'t there so i can\'t really speak for anyone else but just from reading spacey\'s review it was sorta what i was expecting.

Great setlist with the exception of Message In A Bottle, IMO. For some reason, this so for me just doesn\'t cut it. I don\'t really know what was missing last night, but something just didn\'t feel right. What a way to finish off the CT tour. I bet the band must be exhausted after the SER CT run. I also, would have liked an original for an encore. But, I\'m Your Captain was a nice treat.

I\'l definitely agree that porter\'s was very weird last night.  Couldn\'t put my finger on it....definitely couldn\'t stand the fact that they only had one bartender downstairs early in the night.  I wanted to spend as little time down there as possible.

Other than the venue weirdness, I thought the show was good.  No regret > merge > no regret was interesting.  Loved message in a bottle.  Doughboy was great to end the first set.  Gladys > 2001 was awesome!  The jamming in 2001 was something else.  Glad to hear D5....hasn\'t been around for a while.  As for mooboo\'s...the song was great, especially after the.....

Hi everybody!  I just woke up!  Great to see everyone last night.  Gladys Pimp > 2001 was phenomenal.  My face got you-know-whated.  Someone sugested Dig encore... that would\'ve been pretty funny, but then I thought about how bad a Dig encore would be and I stopped laughing.  But the real encore was awesome.  I\'m Your Captain is a cool tune and it got me to thinking just how good Sean is as a guest.  I went back over it in my mind and I have thoroughly enjoyed every time he has sat in.  When they bust out the full-Breakfast + Sean acoustic Battle of Evermore, I will personally grab a pitcher and go around collecting tips.

So people are saying how the room felt wierd and parts of the show weren\'t super satisfying and it tells you something when half the talk in the post-show thread is about a ser digger.  Well, this is simply because the room is different.  Porter\'s and Sully\'s are two venues that for years have been particularly notable for their consistently off-the-hook shows.  And who remembers Turkey Tour \'04?  So what was the difference between this weekend and Turkey Tour \'04?  They weren\'t coming off 2 HUGE homebase shows during Turkey Tour.  Let\'s face it, Porter\'s and Sully\'s are a downgrade in every way from the Puppet House:
-No BYOB.
-No smoking.
-Bouncers.
-Small capacity.
-21+.
-8-foot ceiling + no stage = severely hampered light show.  (This has nothing to do with Greg, who was still doing a good job.)
-Only 2 sets per show instead of 3.
-Outsiders hanging out at the bars who are not into the show.  (A lot of meatheads actually.)

Now don\'t get me wrong, Porter\'s and Sully\'s have been good venues, but you can\'t play them right after the Puppet House.  You can\'t downgrade like that over the course of 1 week and expect to be at the same level.  What they should have done is play the Puppet House run after these shows.  Then Porter\'s and Sully\'s would be contributing buildup to the madness.  Whoever booked the shows probably did not consider psychological-impact-of-venue-sequence, but this tricky little phenomenon turned out to be the biggest factor acting upon this weekend\'s shows.

What can you do?????  How about trading your vagina for a set of cockandballs.....

Regarding the Sullys vs Porters weekend.  I definitely thought Sullys blew the Porters show out of the water.  Upon reading Wolfys post referencing Turkey Tour my reason came to my head.....On Turkey Tour which was Porters>Thanksgiving>Knitting Factory>Sullys.  I did the whole run with many servings of turkey, potatos, and stuffing throughout.  By the time I got to Sullys I was spent but the intensity of the venue and show kept me going and turned it into one of the best Breakfast shows I have ever seen.

Contrasting that weekend with this past weekends shows, I was definitely spent (understatement of the year) by the time we rolled into Porters.  Porters is a ser venue, but it pales in comparison to Sullys (IMHO).  So if they are still playing these small local venues when they make it back to CT in the fall/winter, I hope they book a similar weekend but make Sullys the last show of the run/weekend as opposed to Porters....

Let’s clarify on the darts. TEAM GUINEA lost a narrow decision to Gencs and Spacey that came down to bulls-eye. TEAM HEEB was smoked by Gencs and Spacey, only closing out 17 for the entire game. Jed left shortly after, stranding Wolf, who teamed with Elisa to play TEAM GUINEA in a nail-biter that again resulted in us losing with just bulls-eye to go. I felt completely on throughout, closing out multiple numbers at a time with ease. But I hit one bull the entire night. What can I say? The nationally diverse teams beat the exclusively ethnic teams. A victory for darts. A victory for humanity.

That one bull I hit resulted in me needing an dead-on bull to win it on my rebuttal throw, the last of the game. Everyone was screaming, Seth gave  10,000-1 odds against me on which Tim bet a dollar, and you, despite being my opposition, was in my face giving me something along the lines of "WIN IT LIKE FUCKIN\' OROSCO, PITCHIE!!!" I then closed out the 5. Big stakes. High pressure. Tough loss.
Classic contest.

Let\'s get one thing straight: Spacey made every shot.  Unlike the rest of us, who all suck equally, Spacey is actually good.  Steve, you could\'ve been norn with no arms, and Spacey would still have led your team to victory.  So team Heb had a little setback, but it was not against a bona fide Team Guinea.  And speaking of Team Guinea, what\'s up with the demoralizing defeat to the mighty team of Wolfman and Elysa?  Team Guinea is the laughingstock of the dart world.

My comment of "closing out the 5" is an attempt at a joke. You can only score 15-through-20 so "closing out the 5" is a sarcastic way of saying MISSED HORRIFICALLY!

Then again, I could blindfold myself, take 20 hits of acid, drink 50 beers, and listen to Wolf freestyle (rhyming words like \'board\' with none other than \'board\'), and still manage to close out more than one number in a game.

Viva La Pasta!

that would really be too bad.  but dont go spreading rumours too soon as that can become self fulfilling prophecy.  my godmother owned the old humphreys west that was in the bldg before porters and obviously they struggled and took a huge loss.  it\'s so difficult for a small business to make it, and as anyone from that neck of the woods knows, there is already nothing to do, nowhere to go at night for fun.
i wonder if a new advertising/mgmt campaign would help them?  theres got to be a way to stay alive, because they already book some fantastic names so they must be doing something right.  nice people too.

d5 is just weird for me. When I first heard it it was just *meh*, nothing special. Then I watched them work on it in the studio and I really liked it. Since spring though, its been slipping into the relm of the skip button again. Its just an odd song. It sounds kinda punk at first, but then gets poppy. I just never could wrap my head around it I guess. On the flip, I love the lyrics. The music is just too far off my tastes lately.
