Plus, we all know not to get food from that skeevy pizza joint in the parking lot now ;)

oh man another 2 night run....

I dunno what hotel y\'all stayed at last time but the Econo Lodge was a decent place to shack up. Like a 1 mile / 15 minute walk from Mezzanotte. 80 bucks or so for a 2 bed room.

good to see they will do another two night run in cuse! they did one last april and it was a blast. it doesnt seem like they do many two night runs outside of CT either so im very excited. its superbowl weekend and cuse basketball has a home game at 4pm that saturday for anyone interested. id love to meet some of you and rage before the show...maybe organize a big dinner at the dinosaur bbq or something.

[edit] ill make sure to promote this show when all the college kids are coming back from winter break [/edit]

it\'s always dependent on what time we get up there. i\'m always down for some food before shows, as long as it\'s not the pizza place we went to last time.

The best part is when the fake directions actually took us in a perfect circle.

whats it matter if its a dooze anyway? They\'re still gonna throw down no matter what. I kinda think they throw down even harder if there\'s less people to see it!

Anyway Mezzanotte does draw a good crowd for Breakfast on a good night. There should be 150+ people packed into a relatively small space there. Hopefully more.

it matters a lot of its a dooze.  granted, they play great regardless, but the def prefer playing to a packed crowd instead of a handful of heads.  maybe the show will be good either way, but a good crowd would be a lot better for everyone in the long run.

Todd you know what i\'m talking about. Doozies = crazy freakin music

Obviously its not good for the band but as a fan I definitely wouldn\'t decide not to go to a show on the basis that you think it won\'t be as good if its a smaller crowd. Actually it seems to me at the packed shows the band feels more pressure to "ROCK" which is cool, but I prefer the experimental/weird/unique shows

one thing about Breakfast--- they never serve up the same dish twice!

I NEVER get upset about the decision to play one set over two!!! Why play a two short setter to just a few people? I\'d prefer a nice longish one setter!!!

I have seen my share of doozie shows, trust me... in the early days, there were several times I can remember sitting at a show with just me & freddiewaht in the crowd... If I\'m going to travel, however, I want to see the band in a situation where they will be in a good mood and really having fun...

i totally agree w/ this.  Shows like Friday night and other past heady 1 setters proves it right.  more often than not, they take a late setbreak and only have time for an hour or less for the second set, so they might as well play 2 hours straight.

the last two night run at the mezzanotte (april, \'06) was fantastic. these shows are up on the archive if you want to check them out. i think they really like playing there as its a nice setting, cheap drinks, and always draws a pretty good crowd. the post-fongoulish freakout show at the mezzanotte was packed for the first set. some people left during the break to head downtown but those that stayed were nicely rewarded with music til 3:30 (it was daylight savings). i have already been spreading the word to friends. ill make sure to hit up the college town stores and streets when the students get back. they should have money after winter break so hopefully this will help attendance. lets try for a 2 night sell out!

Can you quantify, please?  1 mile?  0.5 miles?  I\'d like to walk to Mezzanotte and possibly stay at a place with a gym or indoor pool since there probably isn\'t much else to do on a winter afternoon in Cuse (aside from Orangemen b-ball & sledding).

Correction: bring Leith with me and you\'ll have a party!  If I go, I plan on utilizing some of the weekend downtime to read some finance texts (likely I won\'t read one page, but I\'d still like to think I\'ll be productive at some point).

I cannot wait!  Has been over a year since my last Breakfast show...

I will probably go ahead & reserve a room at the Econolodge... $62 a night is not bad.  Since I would actually like to get some sleep in my room, we will have to have a plan b for late night activities.

Econolodge University
454 James St.

Approx. 0.7 miles from the Mezzanote.

Since I likely haven\'t heard Gypsy Girl since 2001 or 2002, I look forward to a kick in the balls.

If I fly all the way out there and Tim doesn\'t play it, I\'ll give him a dizzying kick to the balls.

Shit... you know what, I posted in the wrong thread.  I\'m opening THIS show, not 2/2.  Just so you all know... so save you veggies for Saturday, bitches!  BTW- If the Breakfast wants me to sit in on melodica, I\'ll have it!

...and I\'ll beat you all to it... that IS a melodica tube in my mouth.  Nothing else!

i\'m officially out.  i\'ve got so much going on, it\'s far, and i\'d only have maybe one other person to share gas and tolls with.

not to mention it\'s supposed to dump snow on us this weekend, and it\'s super bowl weekend, and i\'d like to actually watch it instead of spending it in the car like last year. ;)

you guys have fun though, especially you dwight.

Its been long enough and finally now January 2007 is finally almost over....
Cant wait to get back in the van and get this year moving......
I am not going to come out here and start making outlandish claims about the Ithica and 2 Syracuse shows, but they should really be something to be seen and heard......

set 1
superfly phaddy fat, dig, wake up in a coma > puppetry, future peek, cletus awreetus awrightus, the chase > honey butter

set 2
intension, new song (new brilliance?), taboo or not taboot, rufus > hard luck harry > rufus, merge (?)

encore
vermont song (?)

memory is a little shaky towards the end...probably due to all the scotch. encore may have been love lake but since it was played in ithaca the night before im pretty sure it was vermont song. rufus > hard luck harry > rufus was the highlight of the night.

booz was right with set 1, set 2 was:

jam> intension*, A New Beginning**, Jam > taboo or not taboot, rufus > hard luck harry > rufus > memory of a free festival

encore
vermont song

*Garcian tease
**New original, first time played

Show was out control! I was speechless after it all ended. The zappa song was awesome. So many highlights I could ramble on forever about... but above all I say the puppetry, chase > butter and rufus >hlh > rufus > memory were the highlights for me. Can\'t wait for tonight!
