Rumor has it that Revolution Hall in Troy, NY will be closing their doors in the next couple weeks.

Great venue, sad news.

Yes its true.

The owner won\'t sell to Bell for a reasonable price.

I thought at first he was just playing hard ball but it now seems like he actually is set on a price that bell will not pay.

too bad.

glad i got to see a lot of great shows tehre while it lasted.

Bell is the man. I hope he gets a place ...

I will be there this Friday... SCC Acoustic Duo > Ryan Montbleau Band > Assembly of Dust!! Can\'t wait for some Pumpkin Ale, the beer there was just as good as the music.

Brickhouse?  Meant Callahan\'s.  Oof.  Updated list of venues burned down by The Breakfast:

Porter\'s
Tobacco Road
Butterfield
Callahan\'s
The OPL
Revolution Hall
232 Wooster St
CBC

All good venues.  Would love to see The Dying Room added to the list, hehe.

Since we\'re on the subject of burning down the house, don\'t forget Fire + Water cafe.

Also gone (if memory serves me correctly):

The Call
Wetlands

Did the Blues Cafe and Donovan\'s Reef also close?

this is really too bad. it was a great venue, and even though i only saw one show there i had hoped to see many more.  The parking lot was super heady and it looked right out onto the water, plus the deck was really nice for setbreak as well.  just a shame really. :thumbsdow

Porter\'s did close and even though it "reopened" it\'s dead to us now.  Have to give them credit for that.  Blues Cafe is a good addition.  Can\'t give them any credit for The Wetlands, they only played there once or twice and a ton of bands played there.  It\'s a venue that they happened to play that happened to close.  You look at the rest of that list, The Breakfast is among the leaders if not #1 in bands to play there the most.  There has to be a connection...if you were booking regular Breakfast shows from 1998-2001 and you weren\'t Toads Place or something, you were in trouble!  THE CURSE OF THE BREAKFAST!

its too bad. what a sweet venue.

i talked to the local promoter about possibly trying to get the breakfast to come here to new paltz. he said he liked them a lot, and would love to have them play cabaloosa\'s, where pb played a few years back. its a small venue that can hold up to 250, unfortunately with no real stage, but if the boys were interested, i know we could get them in.

the college kids here would pack the place, without a doubt. benevento/russo got a strong showing when they came to NP in september ( to the wave, a venue that can hold about 800, but not in walking distance from campus) , and pnuma, a memphis livetronica trio packed cabaloosa\'s to the gills saturday night, only on the buzz of "they opened for a disco biscuits side project"

i know theyre trying to play bigger places, but a show here would win over tons of fans. and only about an hour south of rev hall.

(wow, i sound like im begging)

I was at the Feb. 2001 show in New Paltz, NY.  Didn\'t yield many patrons on a Tues. or Wed. night (can\'t remember which).  In addition to Peck, Lele, Casinokid, a few UMass kids and myself, there were literally a couple other people in there.
