On Sept. 21st Sharin\' in the Groove presents SAFE and
SOUND - a night of acoustic music to raise awareness
and prevent abuse towards women. The event will be
held at the acoustic cafe (http://www.acousticafe.com) in the
Black Rock section of Bridgeport. The money raised
will go towards offering a free self defense class for
women on Oct. 5th. (more information to follow) I feel
that this is an extremely important cause and that
everyone could benefit from this.
We have four great artists who have genorously donated
their time and efforts to be a part of this night. The
music will begin at 5 o\'clock as to not make this too
late of a night. The artists include:
Tim and Adrian of Psychedelic Breakfast
Acoustic Bomb feat. Jen Durkin
Larissa Delorenzo
Scarecrow Collection Acoustic Trio
We will also be holding raffles and silent auctions to
help raise more money for this cause as we continue to
inquire about donations from local businesses. ALL
proceeds will go towards the offering of the class for
the women of the community. Any excess money will be
donated to local shelters and organizations that are
working towards the same goal. I feel that we can all
make a difference in our community and this is a
perfect opportunity to do so in a fun artistic
environment. It is an all ages event and tickets are
only $10 dollars and can be purchased day of or by
calling 203-355-FOLK.
If anyone has any questions or would like to make a
donation to the cause or assist in anyway please give
me a call at 203-526-1156. Hope this message finds you
well and I look forward to seeing you on the 21st.
Please forward this on to anyone that you think may be
interested in attending the event.

He was trying to save the day, and I think he did an admirable job...
I just remember the band looking at eachother with no idea where to start singing and what....
CLASSIC PB MOMENT/SHOW......
What ever happened to that little fairy girl that opened up for the band that night?
What ever happened to the soundboard recording that The Acoustic Cafe did? Did anyone from the PB camp eever get a hold of it?

Question Mark too ?? Man that is too much. I love that song. the lyrics are great. it must have been nice to hear it in such a stripped down manner. I hope they play it out here in Oct.
Todd thanx for another tight photo.
-
It was an awesome night for an awesome cause.
-
thanks everyone for coming out!! got to meet some of you guys which was nice to be able to thank you personally for coming out to the show ... a friend of mine was recording the show in the back with all of his gear --- were listening to it during the performance and it ripped and once it is mastered and mixed i should hopefully have some highlights for the show on wed. night ...

Are you going to BT it?
-
i might need to figure out if we are going to try to use the recordings to make a cd for the event ... but as soon as we decide that the first place it will go up will be here than sharing the groove :)
-
Thanks for posting a great pic, Todd. Sounds like a good time for a good cause. Will have to figure out a way to convince these guys to stay in Oklahoma a little longer on their next trip out. :awwyeah:

You be da man. :thumbsup
-
That was a very good mix of songs and they did not hold short of any great jammin. how does Tim do that on an acoustic guitar and how does Adrian pump out beats like a machine I will never understand but I know it shows you how damn good they really are when its unplugged.
-
i don\'t know how they do it either, doc. all i DO know is that they sounded amazing the other night. thanks for spreading the wisdom on beef barley, steve martin, and acid-fueled baseball. and in all seriousness, the thought of being a bearded lady actually did enter my mind, however i rejected it REAL fast! i don\'t want to scare all the boys off too quickly!
GREAT picture, todd! i would say it\'s one of your best - the redish lighting gives it a chill feel and it looks like you really caught the boys as they were riding the same vibe.

no problem galenas. see ya at the FrEaK OuT!
