LOL

Homer:   [laughs] They were so drunk.  Gentlemen, get off your
knees.  Your rich uncle Homer is throwing the wildest box
social the high seas have ever seen!  [leaves]
[opens door and pokes head back in]
   And you\'re invited.

We made it son.  International waters -- the land that law forgot!

Coast
Guard:   Navy SEALs are on the way.
Homer:   Oh, bless you.
Coast
Guard:   How about a tactical nuclear strike?
Homer:   Oh, that would be just ... [realizes] oh, you\'re just

the boat staff is definitely not too strict. i\'d say they\'re more interested in selling tix than making sure everyone\'s actually legal. so pull out the horribly fake fake id and give it a shot. the cruise is going to be insane, so it\'s definitely worth a shot.

This might be a little early but it should be asked now, so plans can be made.

What is the plan for after the boat cruise? Are people going to drive home? anyone getting hotels down there? If people are planning on getting rooms we should look into booking the same hotel and try to get rooms in the same place. Basically, we can just all rage out and party till we drop. I just remember my last experience leaving the city and it might be in my safest interest to look into these options.

Couldn\'t find the forum for a long time until I got an email giving me a link.  But I\'ll be in NY the week of the boat cruise, and the following weekend for the new groove festival outside of Binghamton.  Is anyone else going on to new groove?  With Raq, Addison Groove, Brothers Past, and the Breakfast, it looks pretty sick.  Anyway, see you in NY for the cruise and at the new groove festival.

so whose got their tix already.  still unsure on when the show is going to end and if their will still be a commuter train available to take me out of the city.  if anyone has gone as any of the previous cruises can they tell me these things so I have an idea on whether I should get a hotel room or not.

unfortunately since I cant drive, gonna go down to the city early in the day with my mom and sis and see if they want to go on hte cruise but I highly doubt that will happen.  but we shall see. def. gonna be one helluva night.

The website says 7:00 gates
                        8:00 Depart

This is **NOT** jamband time...When they say 8:00 departure, they mean it; so plan accordingly.  Usually a 3 hour tour on the short boat, so the 12something train is still a possibility and definately the 1:20.  It is at the 23rd st pier off the FDR so you aren\'t that far from GCT.  I cannot wait.

We\'ve had to move our Concert Cruise with the Breakfast on 8/3 to a new

It\'s now on a bigger, cooler boat called the Cabaret, and will be

The cruise leaves from World Yacht Marina, 41st Street & West Side Highway

Departing from 41st Street and The West Side Highway, the Cabaret heads south along the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty. After circling Liberty Island for approximately 30 minutes, it heads up the East River, turning around underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. It then repeats the trip in reverse, docking 3 hours after departure.

Straight from the rocksoff.com website. There is no info on this new boat, but definate boat change!!! Yeee-hhaaawww!!! Can\'t wait!

Post by: Spacey on July 18, 2005, 04:43:26 pm
I had emailed Bill Stites from Rocks Off Boat Cruises to see what the deal was with the switch in the boats. Although I did not get a directg answer why the switch was made, I was given a link to the Marco Polo Cruises website. Here you can find information on the new boat the Breakfast will be playing, The Cabaret and you can take a virtual tour. IMO, it looks as if this is an upgrade. The last boat looked a little between the Andrea Gale and a tug boat. Here is the link if any of you would like to take a look. We have less then 2 weeks to get as many people on this boat as we can and we should ALL give it our best to do so, so that we may return next year.

Boat Cruise - The Cabaret (http://www.marcopolocruises.com/)

Promotional material can be found on the calender page.

Take pictures for me, because I\'m worthless and I live in the Midwest. And I\'m in college which means I have no money.

Are the tickets sold out? Can you buy them at the door?

I will be driving up to RI that next day, and we will take the boat to Block Island. DerickW lives in RI so there will be a couple of us.

ser fun to had at this show. i cant fuckin wait much longer.  would love to go see them at block island but probably be unable to make it unless we to hijack the boat and cruise on up to RI with it.  Sure would be one way to get the band some publicity. and we all know
bad publicity=good publicity
too bad someone would have to take the wrap.  maybe we can bribe the Captain of the Ship or something.
Ahoy!!!!!!!

Time to make friends with some rich, CT shoreline-residing kids.  Turn one boat owner into a Breakfast fan and you\'re set for the ride + docking fees on the island.  The boat can also double as an afterparty spot.  I grew up near the water in MA and really enjoyed taking advantage of boat owners during the enjoyable summer months.  We literally did hijack a rich family\'s boat one 4th of July and took it to a fireworks display.

i think the ardsley acres hotel is around $70, it\'s right off of the saw mill pkwy about 30 minutes outside of the city. that\'s the cheapest rate you will get unless you end up in newark after the show..huge rooms 2 double beds, $20 deposit for a remote though

large appliance cardboard box (eg: refrigerator)

strong string or nylon rope
duct tape or masking tape

i know an inexpensive place to stay very near the venue. at 125 east 15th st there is a bar called shades of green. it\'s right across the street and around the corner from irving plaza. above the bar they have an inn with shared bathrooms. the rooms are very small but the last time i was there, they were clean and very reasonable. the phone number is 212-674-1394. ask for mary and tell her you are friends with duane from CT. i called her tonight to check availability but she wasn\'t there. she will be in tomorrow from 12:00 until 6:00. shades of green is a nice irish bar and i recommend it highly. i may stay myself but most likely will make the drive home to be in work the next day. anyone treats mary badly will answer to me.

For what? Errr, horses. I can\'t just switch days, I teach about 7 hours a day so it\'s really hard to reschedule. Plus, think about it, these kids look forward to riding ALL WEEK; for some it\'s their favorite thing in the world. You try telling an 8 year old they can\'t ride next week because you\'re going on a boat cruise. They get SO upset sometimes, it makes me feel terrible.

Awesome week of Breakfast coming forth. Wednesday, the Boat Cruise, Thursday, Block Island and Sunday, the family jam. Not to mention the GTB on friday.

August is a SER month for the band.

<<<< looking for hotel rooms, too.

I am not sure what everyone\'s plans are for the Boat Cruise but here is some useful information on lodging outside of the city, heading towards CT. I will be going to Block Island the next day. If anyone is interested in heading out there, contact me and we will form a plan to all go out together, I am still looking for a room out in Block Island that is reasonable for a 1-Night stay.

http://tourism.westchestergov.com/accomodations/motel.asp <--- Hotel Accomodations in the Westchester County area.

I called and looked into Ardsley Acres Hotel Court and was told rooms are still available and range between $60-$70 a night. This is probably the least expensive and a good place to hang after the cruise.

If anyone is interested in getting together and making the 2 day tour, get in contact and we can rage in the midweek. I know of a few people who are interested, just waiting for confirmations.
Title: Boat Cruise Predictions !!!!!!!!!!
Post by: ellis-d on August 01, 2005, 04:31:12 am
I think may fly and eppy 2 are both easy calls. altho they did play epp 2 last time in nyc which was not very long ago. ANd I feel a buquebus is in order just to see how hard we can rock the boat.

So any other predicitions on bust outs? new covers? How bout "New York New York"? that would be ...uhm...fitting :) I think they are deffinitly gonna do some sort of NY spirit related song with the atmosphere and  lots of good NY related songs to choose from. How bout a beasty boys song :D Also maybe a new cover song that hints at what they are gonna play at the puppet house? They probly already know what they are gonna play and have started practicing the songs correct? They may not want to give it away tho. Either way I think they are gonna have something nice in store for us.

What is the Breakfast policy on video? I could not find anything on their site.

October 21st, 2000 Hawk\'s Nest West Hartford, CT
I: Beef Barley > Scarlet Begonias > Attraction to Shade Ditty > Garcian Fishbowl, See the Light > King Kong > May Fly Disarray, Drum Solo > The Vermont Song > What the Funk* > Octopus Garden, Rufus** > Phaddy Boom Baddy^
* One Nation Under a Groove Tease
** Inca Roads Tease / How Can I Be Sure Tease (The Turtles)
^ Imperial Theme

I would love to see this. Did the band give permission? Does it matter?:)

No permission was given. We showed up around the start of it and he captured it.  Very informal taping.  I\'m going to call him tomorrow If I can dig up his number.  I\'m also working on getting a copy of one of the best shows that no one recorded from another friend.  You will all be floored if he still has it and wants to share it with the Breakfast world.

As far as I know...basic video from the crowd= no problem. Pro-video, ie: on stage, multi camera, etc. has to be approved by the band

The venue itself may limit the use of video though, without the prior authorization of the band.

Have fun and don\'t forget to wear your life jacket, because it\'s inevitable that The Breakfast will blow you out of the water.

so finally made the trek down to nyc, made a day/nite trip out of it, staying in the comfort inn just on w36th. either way just wondering what time other people are going to show up so I can get there first. anyways. im off to drink a little before I go so I dont spend so much on the boat.

are backpacks allowed does anyone know?? i realy dont want to have to leave my backpack somewhere and have someone snag it.
