I am curious as to which shows all of you feel are some of the band\'s best. I haven\'t been able to take 2001-12-07 out of my home stereo for weeks now, specifically the Jam > Mooboo\'s Voodoo (Episode 2) segment. It\'s some of the best ~35 minutes of music I have heard them play. I went through all of the released shows from 2001 on LMA earlier in the year and this show, along with the Uncle Sam Jam (2001-07-04), stuck out as top notch shows front to back. Other shows that quickly come to mind are 2005-08-19, 2005-08-20, and 2005-12-16.
I would like to see everyone\'s top 10-20 shows and maybe reasons why they feel that way about them. I am sure there will be plenty that I have not downloaded yet so I am looking forward to hearing some new shows!
Here is a list of all the shows that have been mentioned, with links!

I would have to say that the all time Epic Show for me would have to be 8/12/00 - Woodstock Reunion show. Psychedelic Breakfast played for at least 4 hours for the first set and then came back and in the early morning and played another 2 hours. The festival management was so impressed that the band was asked to play the main stage the next day before leaving to go play the Welands. Unfortunately there were only a few of us there and no tapers.
-
good thread. I will have to take a look at the dates, I have no idea what is what. They all seem to blend together.

8/19 & 20/05- for obvious reasons
4/9/05 - that whole eppy>no quarter>2 thing was worth the drive. the second set changed my religion!
12/31/03- my first show and a mayfly opener! instantly hooked!
11/17/05- opening with the sundance jam and then some of the most ridiculous segues in set 2.
6/10/05- i got my bartered-for Puppetry>Mooboo\'s Voodoo (Episode 2)>Wake Up In A Coma>Mooboo\'s Voodoo (Episode 2)>Puppetry insanity! i begged them not to play it til second set, since i had to work a full day in dc then battle traffic to get to the show in ct. they kindly obliged and the rest is truly spectacular!
4/2/05- great show that just kept getting better - read my ridiculously long review on archive.org
5/27/05- beardslee... bats... craziness...
3/23/06- dance party casino style! not the best recording, but a great show nonetheless
6/17/06- 1000th show. lovely rita>jam>psygn. nuff said.

2001-12-07 specifically the Jam > Mooboo\'s Voodoo (Episode 2) segment. some of the best ~35 minutes of music I have heard them play.
definitely epic. I think you would be really hard pressed to find a longer, sicker intro/set-opener jam than this
-
i\'m almost positive that 12/7/01 was daffodil jill\'s first show....
edited to add~ holy shit!!! pure ricockulousness right there!!! that jam is one of the greatest things i\'ve ever heard these guys play, especially towards the end!! get it!!!
-
6/10/05 was definetly a day when the planets were aligned. I loved the slower funked out Frankly Po Zest that they started the show with, but the Ep2>WUIAC>Ep2 was purely ecstatic. To this day I don\'t recall either a slower FPZ or a Ep2 WUIAC-wich.
-
first one off the top of my head is Middle East 4-22-06
this show is what its all about for me fa sho

E: 2001* > The Vermont Song
From the ghetgo this show was full of energy. When they go into peaches it just blasts into overdrive and doesn\'t quit till the last note. One of the best Cafe Zacquer shows ever and there was many many epic truly epic shows played there. The boys always lit it up there for some reason. I remember talking to Jordan once about a G-ville show and he said something like "yea I don\'t know why by we always play our best there." I think the owner of the bar\'s insanity played a part in it and the super intiment feeling and general decor of zacqoure and the g-ville kids do know how to rage it...but ANY gloversville show is worth a download!

really? i am unware of the breakfast playing bird songs unless they covered the old GD one.
-
if you listen to any breakfast show as its happening backwards (as in, won\'t work on disc) you can actually hear birds whistling zip a dee doo dah. weird but true...
-
Maybe that\'s how wolfs numbers for notes played per show were always way higher than anyones elses, he was counting all the hidden backwards tracks.

I def stumbled into here during the second set. I recall Time being played but beyond that its all a blur. I was with a big group and had fungus coming out of my ears that night. Too bad I didn\'t realize how good it was at the time, I would have loved to continue seeing this band back then.

The atmosphere was unbelievable. Free show, beautiful night, ate a bit of fungus and drank a few beers, danced two feet behind adrian the entire 2nd set and was in another world. It took me weeks to come down from that show. Still haven\'t shroomed since now that I think about it. Also had a very enjoyable post show experience with two of my buddies, Jenny (sconnie) and her friend. Lots of laughs, great hospitality, just a 10/10 overall.

boozester update that list of shows mentioned ;)
and of course add noho and utica and kinetic
-
where is/was the living room?
-
Providence, RI
it was a dirty dive bar, but we (age 16) could buy booze at the bar/ effortlessly bring in ou own, there was a big dark room to the side of the stage in which puffing was entirely acceptable (7 separate circles this one time, i swear), and the shows never cost more than $6.
my car got broken into one time and my stereo ripped out, it was pretty sketchy. usually really good shows, from what i remember

An old favorite for a lot of people is 8/7/03. I love 8/9/03 as well. You can\'t go wrong with those two. Also the Cafe 9 run of 2004: 4/30/04 and 5/1/04 are sick. The two greatest shows I\'ve ever seen in person are 5/31/03 and 11/15/03.
-
check this out, brah. they are all good http://thebreakfast.info/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4
if you want the best shows i reckon you wait a day or 2 because the 4 shows in the last 6 days were nothing short of amazing
-
One time Steven Gencs told me that the last show played is always the best show ever, so just download everything, all the time.
-
03.30.2001 Butterfield Dorm UMASS (http://www.archive.org/details/pb2001-03-30.flac16)
I mean they\'re all good... but really, this one... the recording of this show got me hooked on the breakfast. The whole second set is fire.
-

live by this credo and you\'re in good shape.
-
Bezerker pointed this one out some time ago:
Big Easy 9-18-08, sick show, listening now...
Definitely grab anything recent, the band is on fiya right now!!!
I like that ploy of grabbing everything, thats what I do and coming from experience, its the way to go.
There are lots of killer matrices DaveP did in \'01 that sound fantastic. Defly check out 12/7-8/01! Unreal stuff.
Jordan-Tim-Adrian-Chris = one minded octopus devouring souls and leaving burnt hipsters in their wake.
-

-
i would say get the puppethouse shows- aug something in \'05 i think? that queeb still stands as one of the best ever
one of my fav all around shows was 4-22-06- last night of the three night 420 run of that year. middle east. flawless set list. i remember davepeck having a hand in that one (props). ragin crowd with the serest "one more set" chant i\'ve ever been apart of.
-
puppet house queeb is in my opinion the best yet. wish we could hear this one
-
poophead, how bout that queeb at aceofclubs? had that similar type of feel as puppethouse queeb. so ser. it probably wasn\'t *better*, but it was damn good and it was 30 mins. for sure. 100%. documented.
-
Just listening to Sedona, AZ 8-23-03, smoking little set.
Especially LDZ > Sundance and Escher\'s.
You can\'t go wrong.
-
Yasgurs farm 2000
The band is on really strong *** (me too)
They pumped for just under 5 hours total and took a set break only so country joe could play for 30 minutes or so
Best sir psycho ever!! Among others. I recorded dat and I think dave has the masters for this epic breakout show.
FYI - this was the show that 1st garnered them some national attention and birthed the relationship between PB and tobacco road in NYC
This is a must listen!!

Okay I know its old skool to mention shows from way back in the day... like 2002-04-20 afternoon set in Amherst being my favorite old tyme 1 setter...
but for reals 9-14-07 is flawless and then some

Checking it out, 8-20-05 is the show, I think. And yes, sick Buquebus.
Next up: 9-27-00 Fire and Water Cafe. The NoHo
Heather > What the Funk > Puppetry. Tasty!
-
I so wish Fire and Water was still open. What a chill hangout / concert spot.

I so wish Fire and Water was still open. What a chill hangout / concert spot.
Free shows, good food, interesting place indeed. First couple shows in summer of 2000 were electric before they went to acoustic format (if you can imagine all electric in that tiny room).
-
Not sure if this was mentioned already (I\'m not going to search through 7 pages of posts), but 11-25-2001 (Stolen Gear Benefit) was pretty epic. A lot of now classic TB tunes played either for the first time or definitely 5 times or less; lots of good covers, and great sit-ins. Check it out on archive.org.
