The lists thus far have a heavy Jordan Giangreco bias.

Nomination for new (old) groove of the month?

ChrisPitch at 1st glance I\'m 80% in agreement with you, maybe would bump one or two up or down the list but I think you got it right bro.

Esp with:
1. 12-26 - Mill Street Brews; Southbridge, MA

I\'ll fill in my blanks later

Such a tough decision between Mill Street, Toad\'s NYE, and Daniel Street. Ultimately, I went with Mill Street not only because the second set was my favorite of the year (a set that was executed every bit as solid as it looks on paper), but also because I felt that show had the best first set of the three. Anytime I come away from a version of Beef Barley feeling overwhelmed, I know it\'s been a damn good show. Tim had some unreal shit going in that jam.

And there is certainly no Jordan bias. I merely call them as I hear them. Night one of Utica was my top show for most of the year, but upon further review, I cannot rank a show in which they played Land of Confusion over any of those four Jordan-fueled classics.

I\'m also noticing an early lack of appearances from the Freakout run. The one show I saw of that run--Northhampton--was not a contender to make my Top 10.

maybe bias was the wrong word; how about preference?

holy shit, you were at the infamous java barn show with the 40 minute queeb?  to this day there is no official word on the length of this song because no one recorded, but klout and boozie both said it was indeed 40 mins.  (bring on the upstate bashing)

If I remember correctly, my perception of time that night was somewhat stretched and twisted, but I think both of those guys are reputable :D.

Just a sick sick show. I can\'t wait for the march get down.

2. 12/31/08 Toad’s Place, New Haven, CT
3. 12/27/08 Red Square, Albany, NY

No Sullivan Hall on any list?  I don\'t think it was a ground breaking or amazing show or anything, but it was really tight from start to finish.  That is worth points in my book.

Out of the shows I saw this year

1. Daniel Street (summer)
2. Sully\'s 9/5
3. Sullivan Hall
4. Rocks off (for B\'fast and Indobox)
5. Ace of Clubs
6. Field show 1
7. Field show 2
8. Mill St. 8/22

Unranked: Toad\'s Place (7/5)  Maybe the worst Breakfast show i\'ve ever seen.  No one in attendance and the band didn\'t seem happy.  Aside from a nice Gladys and Eppy 3 that show was a throwaway.

The differences in all these lists show what a bloody amazing year it was.  Very fitting they capped off a year like this with probably the best mini run in their history.  Still I have to say I think Iron Horse is getting shafted.  Yea it was just one set and it was eight months ago but I think it is way to low on some peoples list...7-10 range? come  on! Does anyone even remember the energy in that place that night>!11?!1!!?! That was something special.  Even in all the epic moments at all the other shows this year nothing topped the energy of the peak in HLH and the OE and the rest of the show was solid as hell too. If it had been part of the nye run it woulda been 1 or 2 on everyones list. show some respect slackers.

1. 12-26; Southbridge, MA
2. 09-20; Buffalo, NY
3. 04-18; Northampton, MA
4. 06-21; Menomonie, WI (based on recording)
5. 12-27; Albany, NY
6. 06-13; Utica, NY
7. 04-04; Chicago, IL (based on recording)
8. 02-07; Plains, PA
9. 03-27; Canton, NY
10. 06-24, Utica, NY

Sounds like 12-30 was solid as well but I have nothing to base that on so...

Most people are listing the shows they attended, and as you know, no one attended that Daniel Street show.  Maybe less people there than at the Sullivan Hall show.  "Taboot" definitely loses something without the crowd interaction

I would absolutely put this up near (at?) the top.  I don\'t remember the year well enough to do a whole top 10, but Iron Horse was undoubtedly a fave.
Along with the Boat Cruise for just a sheer all out great time.
