the other night I did some stuff , put my headphones on, and played through the album Permanent Waves for the first time.
Holy shit, friends!
Breakfast doing Tom Sawyer is cool. But I want to hear The Spirit of Radio (extended) ... Jacobs Ladder ... or Different Strings (the part at the end is RIPE for a sick jam).
thanks to Breakfast and the woman who put The Spirit of Radio on the jukebox @ Ye Olde Watering Hole the other night for the nudge!

I think they should cover all of 2112.
An interesting tid-bit, I\'ve been to see them a few times ands Getty\'s voice really is that high, even when he is just talking.

<-will reply later when I have more time.

Tim put the axe on the Spirit of Radio idea for last year\'s freakout, thats why they came out swinging w/ Working Man. they should do some sort of Echinda\'s Arf> YYZ> Echinda\'s Arf sammy.

adrian has expressed interest in some of the rush tunes, I gave him the sheet music to them about a month ago. Whether they show up in rotation is up to the band though. I wont spoil what they were though.

it would be interesting to hear the band attempt to sing a lot of rush\'s material. hey, more power to them if they want to try it.
-
ron has some of the vocal range. He would have to sing anything by them.
Or they could do one of the instrumentals like gregg mentioned.

it\'s good to see some of todd anderson\'s early work finally surface. and as breakfast fans, it also gives us a good idea of how to gauge when we can see the pictures of the shows we\'re going to today.

Sorry, I couldn\'t resist.

<- probably the only person you\'ll ever meet who LEGALLY obtained everything the band did, including full cd and dvd, 90% vynl and 50% cassettes. All the random solo shit too. Want Alexes version of \'little drummer boy\' from guitar world 98\'s axemas eve? got it. How about neils vynl insert from drummers magazine with pieces of eight and mombos dance party? yup. The first single with not fade away? Does the phrase \'take off to the great white north\' mean anything to you? How about geddy performing with the espn baseball tonight crew? O canada from the south park movie soundtrack? Victor, My favorite headaches, brunning for buddy, masked rider, hell, I even have archives, the composit of the first 3 albums as a set in addition to the first 3 albums seperate on vynl.
That said, I have not listened to them since mid summer. I go through phases with bands.

Well I did start this thread but I don\'t have much more to say about the topic ;)

It\'s too bad....Now Lee looks like Howard Stern, and Lifeson looks like William Shatner!!! Caress of Steel is the shit, though.
