Very impressive, Dave. The only tease you missed (that I can think of) is "Sex Machine" in the jam prior to Score.

Beef Barley > Lit > Beef Barley and the Queeb encore were each around (over?) 40 minutes. Insanity.

You have heard the "fast" version. The slow version is much slower than what the Breakfast usually plays.

I would say that Matt led the way with Tim at a close second.

Don\'t ask... "Lovin\' Chicks" is best experienced first hand.

so glad i had the energy to make it to this after days of july 4th shennanigans...

well composed first set. i always enjoy hearing dig. wasn\'t expecting question mark. i really reaaally liked the bluesy version of tricky ways played last night more than any other time i\'ve heard the tune.

second set was out of control. walked back into the show a little late after setbreak and missed the staying alive jam, but was lucky enough to hear the rest of eppy 1. all of the teases and wackiness surrounding beef/queeb were insane. the guys definitely went pretty far off track last night with all of that, but i loved it. the majority of the crowd at daniel st was really into it as well. all around, a great intimate show that for me, made up for the lack of energy at toad\'s.. really happy i was able to get one last fun evening in before the end of the holiday weekend. :)

Mamalakabubadaya, I think tricky ways is always bluesy.  In fact, I would call it a blues tune.

i loved how pts. 3, 4 were immediately played acoustically, i cannot get enough of pt. 4, just some beautiful playing.  i also really like iaq, it\'s a damn good song.  nice to see, "QUESTION OF A MIND!!!"  (listen to 12-31-07).  decent set overall.

set 2 seemed to be going just fine, lovely ep1>stayin\' alive>ep1, perfectly played rush that made me very happy, i was confused by a score, and a little bored with as pitch told me the 383rd and still most played b\'fast song until it "kinda" went into lit which was interesting to hear, in fact i was tearing my brain apart tryna figure out why it sounded so familiar.  for shame...or maybe they need to play the actual song to uh, refresh my memory.

i think if i remember right, buquebus started around 9:50ish, and ended at like 10:30 something.  i don\'t know what to say other than it seemed like they were playing as if the were practicing in a basement or somethig with no one else was around.  i think a few listens might catch all the teases, cuz i could swear i heard echoes in there too.  holy shit.  sooo much fun, they were totally having as much fun as all, excuse me, most of us.

peace, niggaz!

the smurfs?!!?

Show was definitely insane..... can\'t wait to hear all the set 2 madness again. Band was on another planet it seemed, and we were all digging it! When matt teased Dr. Dre I nearly shit a brick. Thanks to the breakfast for a sick weekend!!

BTW Ren I think the dude was saying "Question AND THE mind"
LOL...

Looking at this setlist on paper (even with the notations ((good job Dave/Pitch?))does not even come close to explaining the SER NANNIES that went down at this show. Tim and Chris were exhausted from the latenight festivities after Toad\'s, plus Chris had another gig before Dan St. I think their tiredness had something to do with what went down. It was cool that they just kinda winged it for the 2nd set and didn\'t write a setlist. The stream of conciousness, musical a.d.d. recycling bin was a lot of fun. Stop It jam was fucking hilarious. I have never cracked up so much at a Breakfast show before.

Well, if I\'m not mistaken, it is a 12 bar blues progression.  Which would make it a blues tune?  Albeit, a funky blues tune.  Shuffle-y even.  But blues, nonetheless.  Maybe?

Matt at one point during the Buquebus "practice session": "so, what else do we want to practice?"

And...the most priceless point of the night was when Matt started playing _______ (I forget, someone help me!), everybody else stopped playing IMMEDIATELY and booked off the stage. Chris putting his bass down as fast as he could and leaping off the stage almost sent me to the floor in laughter!!

I was the birthday boy that was at the show, and I made a request for score, I was actually really suprised that they played it but you can blame me for it.  But that song and the Queeb made it a very memorable birthday for me.

"Broken Wings."

It\'s too bad Fizzlefest and I had to drive home to Long Island, we had to leave sometime around 10:20 or so.  We were also exhausted from Toads.  What a great weekend!  Can\'t wait for Sullivan Hall!
