I actually have taken that Saturday off, the day the Breakfast play. I was planing on the 8th in Burlington, the 9th at the festival.
I just don\'t know about day passes.

I already asked you. You said "I\'m going to Cancun, FUCK the Breakfast!", remember and then I began to sob and said, "You don\'t meant that! Say your sorry." then you hung up the phone.
I cried myself to sleep that night. Slept like a baby.

i\'ll cuddle you this weekend and make everything better. I\'m actually supposed to be leaving the 11th so this works for me.

Have you been hitting up the "casual encounters" section in craigslist? :bj:
-
it\'s a little weird they make you do meals ... who actually eats at a festival? makes the tickets a little pricey!
-
I know I don\'t eat FOOD at festivals.
I don\'t care for the food, just want a 1-day admission to see my favorite band play its set.
that is all.

Some great bands on this line up glad to see Rasinhill on some lineups again, saw/heard the Burnin Smyrnans at Barefoot and really liked them. Haven\'t seen JMP in a long time but they were great when I did see them. Logic of course is good, but that Breakfast band SUCKS! ;)

that\'s a little sad to me! the whole allure of festivals is seeing bands you otherwise wouldn\'t ever bother to listen to, but which are either really talented (ie. young new bands), or just a lot of fun (ie zen tricksters type/ gd / etc cover bands)! that - AND - the whole get dirty - go nuts - forget about real life for 3 days - late nite - party till you drop and wherever you may land, call that CAMP!
-
jsut went on their website and I dont\' see any info about a 1 day pass does anyone know anything about this???? Cause I\'ll be in Burlington the day before and there\'s no way I\'m doing the whole weekend
-
me!, I\'ve been working on this since day 1 when I first realized my mission. I will let you know when I know.
-
^^^^
-
This sounds pretty cool but I am skeptical about being housed with a bunch of people I don\'t know/ potentially can\'t stand. If I didn\'t get one of the VIP cabins I would probably just tent it.
Oh hello! Herring Rodgers & Sipe! That\'s great!
-
I have no confirmation about this but after checking around on some of the playing band\'s sites and the Ticketing site (http://foolsparadisefest.inticketing.com/evinfo.php?eventid=12097), it seems this has been cancelled (could be old news for all I know too.)
-
Hmmm....that is the first i am hearing about this Ant.....That would suck balls....Maybe they didnt sell enough tickets and had to call it off....I went to the myspace page for notoriety (promoters I presume) and there is no news of this yet...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....hopefully someone will shed some light on the subject soon...
-
WAS THINKING ABOUT HEADING to this but it looks like herring, rodgers, sipe, and fountaine have been pulled from the lineup(my guess is jimmy will be too busy preparing for the upcoming panic tour starting later that week and has cancelled the 4 or 5 shows he had scheduled with HRSF in the fall).
it also seems all info was taken off jambase concerning this fest.
the machine website has "stay tuned for refunds" posted on their site.
looks like no fools paradise fest after all.
-
That is a Doooooozie........someone is taking a financial whoopin....
-
I\'m really bummed that this has been cancelled... i mean - les claypool, jazz mandolin, the breakfast + 3 meals + a circus tent?! (http://www.bergsland.org/stock/Babyz/DisturbTabloid/IDon\'Wanna.gif)
-
this is apparently from the guy who runs the fest:
...it will most likely be in the spring. I am trying to get a double bill going there and the other band has too many commitments in the area around when I can schedule it for Mountain Laurel Center (Please don\'t call it that OTHER name, makes me sick). Going to reschedule the following....Particle, Les, The Machine, Project Percolator, Jazz Mandolin Project and hopefully your boys in Triple Lindy. I am up in the air as to recheduling Bonerama and The Breakfast, all others have bowed out gracefully.

that\'s bullshit, they better invite the Breakfast
-
is he suggesting that the breakfast weren\'t so graceful in handling this?
-
By the time next spring rolls around he\'ll have no choice but to invite the Breakfast back.....
It really irks me that coverbands get more respect than The Breakfast.....I mean The Machine is good, but are ya kidding me?
-
the machine draw a way bigger crowd than the breakfast. i mean it sucks, but thats the facts. they\'ve gotta make some cheddar.
-
lifes tough when you are playing someone elses music.
-
the machine draw a way bigger crowd than the breakfast. i mean it sucks, but thats the facts.
first off a 3 alarm fire at an apartment building in New Haven draws a bigger crowd than then Breakfast...whats your point? Other than DSO, which is the first coverband to do something a bit more creative than just play covers, I cannot see why someone would want a coverband at their festival, even if it is a Pink Floyd coverband (and I have seen the Machine, and yes I do think they are quite amazing).....

it\'s all in the lights and the projector screens;)
-
I guess my whole fit was a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that the guy said he wasn\'t sure if The Breakfast were gonna be invited back.....I say fuck him and his stupid festival if they dont invite us back....And if they do....What a great time its gonna be in a wonderful environment run by such amazing and wonderful people
-
like i said, tons of people will go out to see the machine. if it was ethical to advertise a 3 alarm apt building fire at a festival, i\'ll bet we\'d see it. festival promoters want ticket sales. booking the machine ensures a certain number of ticket sales. that number is greater than the number of heads the breakfast will bring in. i\'m not saying i think the machine are better than the breakfast, that\'s simply untrue. if it came down to originality and musical merit, that would be wonderful, but that is not how the music business operates anymore. and it hasn\'t operated that way in a while. the machine = more ticket sales than the breakfast. that\'s all i\'m sayin.
-
I hear ya.......I hear ya.....see my previous post #49 in the thread.....
-
well, the festival still had enough names to bring in tickets. they said it was beyond their control on their myspace page. so either something happened with permits or somehting like that, or the festival promotion/organization was up to par because no tickets were purchased.
-
I hear ya.......I hear ya.....see my previous post #49 in the thread.....
posting at the same time=weird.
-
is he suggesting that the breakfast weren\'t so graceful in handling this?
i think it\'s saying that the others "bowed out gracefully", rather than implying that "the assholes refused the offer to come back at a later date".
cancelling a fest for low ticket sales ... rough ... think long term, it takes a while to get a new festival off the ground.
-
I just dont\' think it was a great idea with all the "luxeries" they were providing that\'s gotta have something to do with it....
-
I just dont\' think it was a great idea with all the "luxeries" they were providing that\'s gotta have something to do with it....
definitely. they wanted to bring in more money so they required everyone to buy food and included it in the admission. worst idea ever. they blew it for themselves.
-
I just dont\' think it was a great idea with all the "luxeries" they were providing that\'s gotta have something to do with it....
very good point ... in good taste thought would be wait till after the festival to decide that though, you know? ... i mean cancelling on a bunch of bands less than 3wks before an event, you know in theory there\'s a lot of $ lost there (time=$), and who (fan or band) would commit to a 2nd attempt?
-
Sounds like an opportunity for a CT appearance to me!

:that: Of course, if we were going to be in VT Friday night, I wouldn\'t be rooting for CT!!!
