I am thinking we are probably gonna have to stay in the van or get hotel rooms under pseudonyms, because we were kicked out of 3 hotels and off the property of another on that island.....and now were back for 2 nights.....HOLY CRAP its gonna be a good summer!

It\'ll be too easy. Really.

All I remember from last year is that girl getting decked by her bf and the ambulance picking her up.

She got PME\'d and then got knocked the fuck out........
missed that though heard about the aftermath....
I just remember Dobson coming to rescue me on some beach where i was passed out....
and then walsh throwing empty beer cans into the hotel window where Elisa and Kev were crashed out to wake them so we could make the ferry.......

Wed + Thurs  :( :( :(

gonna be tough.

But hell, what a beautiful island and what a great party that would be!

Gencs which hotels are ya banned from brother. I know (kinda) the managment @ Harborside, National, and Surf Hotel. 3 of the biggest ones up there. But the problem with hotels on Block Island is that its like $250 a night for a room.

I know there are a couple cheaper / motel type places up there. Heck there\'s probably 30 or 40 places to stay on that island, I\'m sure we can figure something out.

Too early to say but in a month or two I\'ll know what festivals I\'m hitting this summer and have my summer vacation day requests in. I would LOVE to be on the Island for this

I just sent an email to the owner of Captain Nicks inquiring about discounted group room rates.....will post when info arrives.....

Definitely banned from The New Schoram Inn....its right across the street from the ferry dock....

oh and the hotel to the left and right of the New Schoram Inn we are probably banned from as well....

Tent camp at the hippie hangout?

the hippie hangout was more of a tall tale than anything else...
it is not a place for camping, but it is a rather small area that is fenced in with a few benches overlooking the beach (we were able to look down on in from our hotel deck). upon finding out that i was going to block island tht day, my dear friend paul who could not come with us because he couldn\'t find someone to cover his shift at the shell gas station drew a wonderful aerial map of the island from what he could remember. the map included a "hippie hangout," but much to our surprise, it was more of a homeless stomping ground/family-style hangout.

i seriously doubt the places we had were that expensive..considering we had to share a dirty dark bathroom with an entire hallway and there was NO FUCKING AIR CONDITIONING!!

btw, this is what happens to people when they go to block island:

While trolling the island for chicks, I once spent a weekend sleeping on benches in Martha\'s Vineyard back in high school.  It would be pretty funny if the Breakfast crowd totally fucked with the island and set up a camp somewhere (likely only to be kicked out and relocated to another area).

Hotel and transportation rates fluctuate from year to year.  I\'m pretty sure summer 2006 and the coming summer were/are more $$ than when you guys crashed on the Block Island shore in 2005.

i definitely remember seeing people with dogs all over the place. pet friendly hotels might be a bit more expensive though. then again, i have no idea what i am talking about.. it really wouldn\'t be difficult to sneak a dog into the luxurious (just kidding) hotel we stayed in.

Hotels are going to be really expensive for 2 nights. Rooms are $150-$250/night at best. of we all can rent out a hotel for 2 days and see if we can get a deal.

Best bet is to find a seculded area and camp.

The problem with renting a house or something is that during the summer months they really want you to do it for a whole week. The other problem being none of us are insane enough to put it on our CC.

Regardless this will be an amazing run and the shows should be top notch...

Not my best idea.

I probably can\'t camp because my dogger, though she loves sleeping in my tent with me, cannot be left in one when I am in a show/restaurant/etc. She\'d be sad and I\'d be afraid she\'d get stolen.

I\'m probably just going to take the hit and rent a room. Call it a vacation.

The idea of warm weather (not that this winter has been very cold, but still) has me all a-twitter.

the surf hotel is only $90 a night. if that includes a bed and indoor plumbing its prob a good deal.

maybe a better idea is to get a big house and convince the boys to play there on mon/tue and make a week of it.

Renting a house sounds pretty cool - it sounds like it\'s expensive, but why pay $150 for a hotel room, when, if enough people pay, we could have a SER party house on the beach?!  Some of these places are willing to work out deals/negotiations if it\'s booked far enough in advance, too!

the surf hotel is only $90 a night. if that includes a bed and indoor plumbing its prob a good deal.

I\'ve stayed at this hotel several times, and kinda know the people that own it.

That said, we should not stay there. It\'s simply too damn old and nice. Something expensive will get broke.

But it does have its own private beach, open at night too.... which means I got the mescaline and 8-foot American flag covered

that is probably true.

But some places, ie Surf Hotel, require special consideration.

There are at least a few motel / cheaper , less breakable places on the island we could easily scope out.

not sure how it works on the island, but alot of house rentals do not require a credit card deposit. a bunch will let you rent the place with a cashier\'s check and a security deposit (usually around $500 or so), so even if the place gets trashed, you, as a group, are out 500 and no one needs to worry about their credit

Most likely, though, with our group of low income, smelly, trashy, loudmouthed serheads, it\'s probably naat gonna happen.  Start booking your cheap hotey\'s now, folks ;)

a) I can\'t pay off my debt because they stopped sending me letters and calling, so when I do/did have the money (ie - a month or two ago) to start paying I can\'t pay them because they don\'t ask anymore. b) it\'s more debt than I can pay in one shot (15k or so, i think). c) Spacey are you an accountant? I do need my taxes done since my father can\'t figure them out this year because of the 1099 I got from FedEx (which has no taxes taken out, but I have a bunch of gas receipts to write off).

We would have to rent it for a whole week Sunday to Sunday. 3 queen beds but looks like plenty of room for air mattresses as well. i don\'t think we\'re going to find something ideal by looking at houses to rent. it seems like that is definitely a pretty expensive route..i also kind of want to find a place where i don\'t have to camp out on a floor...

that being said, does anyone want to bunk up/look into sharing a hotel room with me? i\'m talking about sharing a room with ONE OTHER PERSON. i don\'t want to have 10 people in my room (i would actually like to get sleep while on the island). joce?

Yeah I would definitely be into that... though I may bring Jon or someone with me. But 3 is reasonable if we have two beds.

The other thing is I am probably bringing Sadiedog with me, so I don\'t know if that affects whether or not you would want to stay with me.

I spent about an hour a few days ago looking on the internet for a decent hotel which either allows pets or looks easy to sneak pets into and couldn\'t find shit. Seems like the only places on the net are the really expensive ones. Not even any middle-of-the-road chain hotels to be found.

I\'m down for house or hotey, but time\'s a wastin, as they say.  Here\'s my two cents, as it were:

We\'re all poor in our own way, but sometimes you have to make a sacrifice (ie: new wardrobe?  vacation/sick days?  food?) for something you really want (a double shot of Breakfast in summah!)

I respectfully (but strongly) suggest we get our act in gear and figure out:
1. Who\'s sharing a roomskie.
2. Who\'s making the phone call to reserve that roomskie.
3. Who\'s paying who-skie for the roomskie.

That being said, I am clearly down for #1.  I can complete task #2.  I need to fill in the who\'s and who-skie\'s on #3.
Holla.

PS: Jocelyn, I\'m allergic to doggies.  Sorry. :(
PPS: Boston crew: I\'ve got the wheels, so you know I\'ve got your back on transport, at least to the ferry, if not back home.

I road to work yesterday, it was 1 hour exactly, like 17 miles but a lot of hills. Took a shower at the gym, nice ride home afterwards to get rid of the stress from the work day. I recomend everyone try it.

First sign of spring: had a driver flip me off as he drove by me yesterday for no reason I could tell. I was way over, no where near him. He was just flipping me off because he could I guess.

sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but is this reservation you are speaking of for using the ferry, as in you reserve a time slot to ride it over, or is it for for renting a truck?

im getting to block island tuesday evening if anyone else plans on going up early.

just got word my ultimate frisbee tournament is the weekend prior to this one so im also on for the friday night show in RI.

The reservation is for bringing the 4-runner on the ferry. Can\'t wait to go off-roading on the island!!!

Well if I bring the dogger etc I may have enough stuff that I might want to bring my car?

I will especially want the car if I don\'t end up with a hotel reservation ahead of time... Which from the looks of the stuff I\'m finding on the internet, I probably won\'t.

if your going to bring a car make your reservation asap, remember this is the weekend before the 4th of July so the island should be packed. i don\'t know if the band has reserved a spot yet because they will definitely be restricted because of size. i think they only allow 2 BIG trucks on per ride.

for anyone who hasn\'t been on the island before and is thinking about going...
unless you have your heart set on off-roading or something, you really don\'t need a car there. if you have a bike, bring it. i think it costs a lot of money to bring a car and the island is so small it\'s really not worth it.

i think it costs like $20 or something to park in the lot. not totally sure. i would think that if you don\'t park your car in the lot (ie try to find a spot nearby) you should be really careful because you will prob get towed.

just park in the lot at the end of the road, you\'ll see people flagging you in, they\'re not trying to rip you off $20 for the whole weekend. it\'s a safe lot.

alli-i\'m all for kayaking!! find some info and lemme know.
i definitely want to take advantage of being at block island this time around (as opposed to last time when i had a very intoxicated and quick visit). anyone who would be interested in checking out some of the historical stuff on the island as well please let me know. definitely wanna take a look at the north lighthouse and museum. there is also a very old cemetery from the 1600s that i wouldn\'t mind seeing either. if people would be interested in checking out some of the historical sights, i\'ll get some more info and try to put a schedule together for one of the morning/afternoons that we are there.

ah, that things always off. Anyway, you do a carb load before a ride and you\'re good to go. A large pizza, or a whole box of pasta usually does the trick. On average I\'ll loose 5lbs but put it right back on within a week. Most of it is from sweating, much like bikram. This course looks pretty damn level anyway so it shouldn\'t really be that bad. Just have to watch out for the thunderstorms.

Tour de france: 30 days back to back of 80-130 miles a day, up and down mountains. And it\'s a race on top of it. Now that is crazy.

Yeah, I fly into Warwick at 10:45 am.  gonna get picked up by my brother and take a car over to the ferry.  I assume I can leave my car in the parking lot there over the next couple days so it\'ll be there when we go back to Narragansett.  will be driving home that night.  I can give you a ride to Dartmouth if you need.

regular farry man, the high speed is like 50 bucks or something.

how bout you just put me on your ignore list, then you never have to see or reply to any of my posts again..............not that i need to justify it to you, but i will for your own personal clarification......when i was replying i figured i would be the next post right after Jenny\'s, however, Zurflu beat me to it............but if you READ the posts you would see that Jenny\'s post was pondering, questioning if you will, about the last time she saw the breakfast, as where AlZ\'s was just stating that his vacations seem to be revolving around the band.......I would have thought that a teacher like yourself would have picked up on the context clues before posting.........

I am sure, with the crew that will be on this island, that there will be nonstop comic shennanigans dipped in booze and deep fried in drug sauce....metaphorically speaking of course....

With all the people coming, and the fanbase\'s history of wrecking motel rooms, I hope there is a good beach for late night that won\'t be patrolled every half hour.

I hope of all you have a blast on Block Island, and I know you will.  I really wanted to make it out, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it wasn\'t possible.  Enjoy.  And do everything that I would do.  But above all, be safe.  (Sounds like your parents, doesn\'t it?).  Looking forward to recordings, pics and stories.  You Lucky Bastards!

Anybody driving down I 95 North towards Rhode Island today (Wednesday) before 1 pm can stop at my golf course/driving range and I\'ll spot you a free bucket of balls to hit.  (I am single handedly doubling the attendance at Captain Nick\'s, I am sure of it.) It\'s only 5-10 mins off the highway, and not difficult to find.

Birch Plain Golf Course
119 High Rock Rd.
Groton, CT
Take Exit 87 off of I 95 (onto Clarence B. Sharp Highway)
Follow signs for Groton-New London Airport, you will drive by Birch Plains on your right.
