ERSTAD A GOLD-GLOVER
Darin Erstad became the first player in history to win a
Gold Glove as an outfielder and an infielder when he won
the award Tuesday for his 2004 play at first base for the
Angels. Erstad also won Gold Gloves for his work in the
outfield in 2000 and 2002, but he was pressed into
first-base duty for 2004 because of the Angels\' acquisition
of Vladimir Guerrero and Jose Guillen and he delivered with
a .996 fielding percentage.
