Title: War of the Worlds
Post by: SlimPickens on June 30, 2005, 10:54:21 am
Went to the opening of WotW\'s last night and despite the fact that I saw it in a tiny subpar theater up here in Rhode Island, I was blown away.  I can\'t remember the last movie that had this kind of effect on me.

where are you in RI Slim. it looks like a pretty killer movie. I wanna see stuff like this on the IMAX screen, now that would be mind blowing (6 stories of movie screen and an insane sound system)

I\'m starting to notice that more and more folks are becoming less ashamed that they reside in rhode island, heh.

Personally, I am still in denial, I can\'t seem to take the plunge and transfer my CT License for a RI.

if i lived in RI, I wouldn\'t be ashamed.  Like most states:  some good points, some bad points.

it\'s not that bad, just remember your not grounded in RI like the people born and raised here. I\'ve been here for........97 carry the 2 divide by 3.... about 8 years. coming from CT everything around here is right around the corner.

so was the movie, When Mars Attacks (funny ass movie) fake looking? Or Independence Day decent

there were questionable story line aspects to this movie, but hey, if you\'re watching a movie about little green men you really shouldn\'t get too wrapped up in the little details.  the CG stuff was pretty good, I\'d like to see it on a respectable screen (i bet some of the mansions in Newport have larger screens than the theater that I was at).  Some of the sets were amazing, huge complete destruction type stuff w/ crashed 747\'s and houses/building just torn to pieces.

Slave Labor implies no pay....

I am thinking it was more like migrant worker labor....
Or possibly Malaysian sweatshop labor...
