@ TUNAGE
Keeping it real people know the deal
Cuz you won\'t think you\'ll only feel - Tunage
Pumpin a bumpin the rump is a jumpin and the
Music\'s got a power to heal
Jukebox fun but doesn\'t cut the feeling that you get
When a band gets off the stage from a stellar set
Now set up and ready to play the first note starts to ring
Cigarettes all hit the trays and folks start dancing
Keeping it real people know the deal
Cuz you won\'t think you\'ll only feel - Tunage
Pumpin a bumpin the rump is a jumpin and the
Music\'s got a power to heal
Hearts all singing awesome songs that ripple thru the air
Gotta busy day tomorrow you don\'t even care
Medicine the notes they wrote and all the words you hear
Worth every penny that people save up plenty and spend it maybe once a year
Keeping it real people know the deal
Cuz you won\'t think you\'ll only feel - Tunage
Pumpin a bumpin the rump is a jumpin and the
Music\'s got a power to heal
Everyone a visitor
To a strange and distant place
Many have been there before
But need another taste
Lose your mind and lose the time
It\'s now that matters most
Escape it all and have a ball
People party coast to coast
Keeping it real people know the deal
Cuz you won\'t think you\'ll only feel - Tunage
Pumpin a bumpin the rump is a jumpin and the
Music\'s got a power to heal

awful lyrics, and i *really* wish the band could get away from singing exactly what they\'re playing..
decent music.. too busy at times though.. and there\'s a point where the song should definitely be over, but comes back for more..
i\'m not sold.
-
I really liked this song @ Mezzanote - it got the crowd moving, and the jam in the middle was incredible! I also really liked the parts where Tim & Ron played the tune back & forth to Adrian... lots of fun!!! I think it still has to grow a little more, but as far as a new song, it\'s decent
-
i couldn\'t understand the lyrics when i heard them, but i thought they had a nice flow. the song itself reminds me of the curtain, eppy 3 and stick it out all mixed together. i really like it. musically, its got sweet changes and catchy verses.

Thats funny, cause I like how Tim sings the same notes as he plays, and I also dug the false ending. Different strokes for different folks:shrug:. I agree that the lyrics are pretty cheesy, and it was hard to understand what they were, but it didn\'t matter to me when I saw it. The jam was pretty intense/funky and I can see it growing a lot. The whole song is very Zappa-esque.
-
i enjoyed seeing this song both in ithaca and syracuse. i liked all the timing changes, as it does remind me of zappa\'s music, and i honestly didnt even pay attention to the lyrics so if theyre bad they dont bother me. i dont see it as a mid-set kind of song so debuting it as the set 2 opener in ithaca and then as a set 1 closer in cuse were good choices. i look forward to hearing this song develop over the next couple months.
-
Maybe they could be convinced to changed the lyrics
-
musically feels like the chase with a splash of frankly po to me
-
I like it... I do agree that there is a bit too much singing of EXACTLY what they are playing (melodically/rhythmically). My first thought at the beginning was Flower Punk > Tunage is bound to happen at some point. I haven\'t decided if there is something cool that they could do with Frankly Po Zest or if it would sound too awkward. Overall, it\'s certainly not a step forward, but I suppose not every song has to raise the bar, and it\'s certainly not a step backward either.
-
Tunage = Ser
-
Ser jam potential for sure!!!!
-
these guys are def. robots. How do they do this shit??? how have Ron\'s fingers not fallen to the floor?!??
-
I hope to hear tunage at every show i go to.
-
Not a bad tune at all. Got my first live recording listen this morning on the way to work with Bill\'s Bar verison clocking in around 16 minutes. I have heard the song in passing at a couple of practices but never inquired about it. There is a lot of changes going on but a rather decent composition for a song and certainly has room for expansion in the jam. Lyrics are a little difficult to understand but it is kindy catchy and been stuck in my head all day thus far.

best breakfast song ever

Guess both of you will just have to do more proselytizing as it did not even make the Final 4 of this year\'s ToT.
-
it ran into Buquebus in the 2nd round.

Obviously, this quote was made at a time when Tunage had only been played twice (neither of which made its way into circulation). Is it time to edit your quote yet?

it was also written and first performed as a three-piece. the song works MUCH better as a four-piece.
musically, it\'s one of the best songs they\'ve written in recent history. lyrically, it still blows. :P

ah who cares about lyrics anyways!!??

Dave you have got to be kidding. The lyrics to this song kick some major ass. The problem lies in how they are delivered. In this I totally agree with you if this is what you mean.
The descriptions in this song are so spot on for fools like me that just want to get down and Tunage is pretty much our entire life.

I agree with the lyrics being spot on. Tunage literally played over and over in my head when I flew out for FF9. I think its meaning should be celebrated. Actually it is celebrated every single show. That\'s the point.
As far as the delivery, I totally disagree with you guys. There are a lot of songs where the vocals mirror the instrumental melodies and it sucks, sounds corny a lot of times. But this song is an instance where it works extremely well. Something else vocally on top would take away from the perfect groove. And Ronnie\'s "Tuu-naa-aage" ties the whole groove together. I love all three different vocal sections. Tunage is the shit, straight through and through.

all the corny, played out, vocal jams are really ruining this song for me.
the sickest type 2 off the hook jams used to come out of this song and now it\'s consistently 5 minutes of vocal wanking, a solo or little instrumental, and good night :thumbsdow
the non-jam parts still rocks but I don\'t get excited for it like I used to when they bust into it
The song is all about partying and raging and what not so wussing out on the jam everytime is really untrue to the nature of tunage
bring back the monster tunages we used to know please!
-
yeah tunage has gone down the drain as of late

agree\'d onehundge%!
I have been saying this for a while now.
Vocal jam = the lameness.
It is such a dooze to throw a vocal jam right in the middle of one of their best songs. Esp every fucking time. It really taints the tunage.
Wasted potential for ser jamming :sadban:
-
TOTALLY agree...can someone tell the band this face to face?
this songs jam used to be so sick, now you knoe EXACTLY what is coming every time
its a perfect opportunity for a type 2 jam
-

Also, tim, update the setlists on .net.
That said, I personally have not seen one since august at least (daniel st. I think?) and it\'s one of my favorite songs by the band. I love metropolis, but not every show. Let\'s rotate it up a little here!
