Jammy win= no name change, IMO!!! The next time someone says "we\'d hire you if you had a different name", just say "SCREW YOU, we\'re Jammy material now!!" Plenty of people won\'t give a rat\'s ass what the name is after that notoriety.

No better way to kick off the new name than on the heels of a Jammy victory.....

And I still stand by the "who gives a fuck what they call themselves as long as it Adrian,Tim,Ron,and Jordan" point of view.

I would say that the name change is even more necessary if they win.  A Jammy would put the band on the radar of major record labels... record labels want the PSYCHEDELIC out of the picture.

i agree it would be ideal for them ... it actually would be the best way to get the "new" name out there, but like steve said as long as it is adrian, jordan, ron and tim who cares!!

NO WAY...the music got them the jammy nomination and the win will get them noteriety(sp) that is the name of the band like it or not...think about NWA, the people made record companies and promoters realize, get more of a turnout and promoters will have no choice...PB forever!!!

yea, but NWA was billed as NWA, not Successful and Attractive African Americans with attitude. Obviously that was a comprimise

Hey, what did Paul do wrong?  The actual name of NWA was Successful and Attractive African Americans With Attitude.  I\'m not a fan of the "N-word", but that\'s the name of the band.

Of course, it still is good to see that people will stand up and take notice if such words happen upon the forum... let\'s keep that and other similar words off of the forum.

Let\'s also restate the obvious that this post doesn\'t reflect the band... just to be on the safe side.

You see the problem with computers is that it is virtually impossible to detect sarcasm online. :)

I don\'t even think the Jammy\'s are all that big of a deal.  Sure, PB needs the attention, but the name change won\'t be affected.  If anything it will help because people will put 2 and 2 together better.

As for the psychedelic thing.... I think it\'s cool that it is now INFERRED and not actually explicit.

"Yeah, the Breakfast... They\'re really psychedelic"

i was at barnes and noble this afternoon and i came across that jambands book, flipped through it and saw pb. they mention in the write up that the name of the band is a reason why people may have overlooked the band unknowingly. well, there it was in print...

I think people will be able to make the connection between "Psychedelic Breakfast" and "The Breakfast."

I agree. I liken it to the Dead. Last nite I wore a shirt that is a take off on the Letterman logo. Late Night with the Dead. On the back are 10 reasons not to miss a Dead show. Anyways this shirt is a GD era shirt wherein most heads called the band the Dead(and which the core 4 acknowledged with the name change). I get alot of questions about where I got it as people assume it is a TD era shirt LOL.  As was mentioned in the "official statement" PB thinks of themselves in a way similar to this. I believe the name change will not be a negative in this manner.
