-
this will be the show of the summer!!!!! 3 sets!!!!! ?
-
any confirmation on the 3 sets?
if it is 3 sets, I will agree that this is going to be the show of the summer, if not the year.
-
i just said that. i\'m just wasted and happy!
-
3 sets it is then!!
-
whats camping situation more specifically?
in my experiences, when the weather is warm enough, whomever is allowed to camp out in the large field in front of the carriage house.. cleaning up after one\'s self is all they really seem to care about
-
trust that I want 3 sets. Nothing is better than 3 helpings of b\'fast especially when you are camping out that evening. That little camp should make it a truely wonderful evening and with many classic moments.

It would be going down at the General Clinton Pub with the b\'fast trio.

as long as it goes better than my yesterday...... i locked my keys in my apartment while doing laundry and people refused to give me the phone number to my rental managment company. finally when i did get the number 4 different people gave me 4 different numbers...... dumbasses. this all started at 7 last night and i finally got in at 9 this morning..... so anything would be better than yesterday. so far so good with everything today, just awaiting my time to tip toe out of here early.

for a long time now, i\'ve held the opinion that the key to tB is jordan. yeah, we all know that tim and adrian can destroy their (and each others\') instruments, and that ronnie gets the \'most improved in 05\' award (that brother has come *such* a long way over the years!), but what kept this band from just being a wankfest is jordan\'s keys. take a listen to every \'best show ever\' and you\'ll notice one common element - jordan\'s keys are up high in the mix! he provides such a great counterpoint to tim\'s guitar while also playing off and with the rest of the rhthym section. and now they\'ve been able to truly incorporate his spacey sound washes as part of the intentional song and not just \'something the keyboardist does during his solos\'. i think the entire band is really developing and elevating their unique sound and jordan is the key part. getting all four (six w/dobs & ellis) fingers working in true concert together, utilizing all the players\' strengths and then taking those and creating something far greater than the its parts, well.... that\'s true art and a shitload of fun, right there!!
I wish him all the best!!
-
fuckit i\'ll just buy more batteries....jordans last show might as well go all out....
JUST REMEMBER TO BRING THE BOOM BOXES!
just went home and can\'t find my boombox:thumbsdow i\'ll try to atleast find some battery operated comp. speakers...... something is better than nothing......
-
I got mine, and it does take 6 D batteries
FYI: I bought it for 20 bucks at a pawn shop so it\'s not the greatest, but it works
out the door to meet the space cadet, see all you bithces soon!!!

Very sorry to hear about this... and even more sorry that I couldn\'t make it to Toad\'s.
Jordan, I wish you nothing but the best, bro!
-
I\'m bringing my drum to with the hopes others might follow suit.
<<<<< hoping for a fire side jammy jam
If there\'s room, I\'ll bring my mando... just hope someone knows how to play it!
-
It is an amicable separation and was his decision to make this move.
What reason would he have to leave tB??? :( :pout:
Jordan will definitely be missed, and I wish him the best in everything he goes on to accomplish.
-
well, I am waiting for the crew to arrive and then we are heading to Beardslee. Should be here within 20 minutes, if not, there will be trouble.
So we will see ya\'ll up there.

I\'m sure that his journey through life started to go down a different road and when at the crossroads a decision needs to be made. He made the best decision for himself and I wish the best of life and luck to him and his wife.

wish there was more notice given to this so folks could wish a fond and proper farewell
right???? all this time and energy and dedication to this band and they give us 5 hours notice that 25% of the band is leaving. real professional boys, thanks......
wish i wasn\'t home sick with the flu tonight, i was looking forward to this show for a long time. sad sad times.
good luck in wherever life takes you jordan, you will certainly be missed.
-
wow, this is it. I log into .info for the first time in a few weeks and I\'m welcomed by Jordan’s departure. I\'m sad to see you go man. From what I\'ve gathered seeing you play these past four years you will be greatly missed by all of us. I’m sure you make decisions like this for good reasons and what ever that one may be, keep in mind that you blew the minds out of many for many years. It\'ll be tuff not seeing you at these mid-west shows anymore. DAMN! I should have hit July 2nd. I\'m pretty bummed.... sad sad sad. Take care Jordan.

Princess...
The band has been very professional about this. In fact, if you care to notice, the is NO official comment on this. Only some heresay.
An official comment would be from the band, Alex DeFelice, and myself. An official comment will be made on Monday, as was planned.
My unofficial comments: We would have preferred to have Jordan play until the end of the summer as was planned. But his family and day job committments have made it increasingly difficult to know WHAT shows he would play, when we could leave for gigs. This situation has persisted since the last national tour, when everyone wanted to know why the band drove home, at great expense from Arizona instead of playing gigs. But the number of gigs Jordan couldn\'t or wouldn\'t do has grown to a point where it made no sense for the band to lead a double life. BTW we have been conducting a national search for a replacement. Unless the response to the trio gigs is overwhelming, we will find a great replacement. Bands like Moe are helping in the search.
But we all understand that that if at this point in time this is what Jordan wants for his life, it is in fact his life. We personally support his personal decisions, and I for one have plans to include him in a very high profile project that will not require so much touring.
Jordan has already played his parts on the cd, so that isn\'t an issue.
I certainly understand that all of you will feel a sense of loss, but I should also point out to you that those of us who are continuing have been dealing with a tough situation for quite a while, so there is great aanticipation for what will develope in the future.
-

LOL! Fantastic idea DW, get it on film for us MIA\'ers

So sad to hear about this! I had heard it was coming, but I was hoping there would be more notice before his last show :(

sooo...the professional thing to do would have been to let everybody know after the fact that jordan was gone? two "professional" bands that i have followed in my day (phish and the disco biscuits) let fans know months in advance about their breakup/departure...oh well
sorry to get off topic...thanks for everything, jordan and best of luck...and to the rest of the organization as well...wish i could be there tonight
-
I don\'t know Jordan personally, but completely understand where he is coming from. I too gave up a job and lifestyle I loved (twice) in order to have more economic stability and spend more (any) time with my wife.
I\'m sure this decesion ripped his heart out.
Much respect.
Thanks for 7 great years.

well stated zuke, my point exactly.
mr. steffmo, i did care to notice the lack of any communication with the fans... last i checked, it takes a dedicated fanbase to be a successful band, and its only fair to keep them in the loop, and make them feel as important as they are. i\'m wondering a bit what the reasoning was behind this decision...?
-
I tried to help....
But I\'m a douchebag ;)
Very pissed I won\'t be able to see Jordan play this last show.... :(
-
Well, you are of course entitled to your opinion.
And no is sorrier than I that its has come to this. What was planned was that we would announce this shortly, and that Jordan would play through the summer. We planned for a three month transition.
However, Jordan\'s situation would not allow for him to play gigs that required and travel, so we were left with more and more dates the band would have to use a sub or play as a trio. Once that started to happen this board would have been buzzing with gossip anyway. Jordan not at 10KLF???? Or any of the shows on that run???? To wierd.
This has been emotionally draining for all of them. The band doesn\'t want to lose Jordan, and I\'m sure in his heart of hearts Jordan doesn\'t want to leave. But this halfway in and halfway out situation was doing more harm to their relationship than anything, so the guys decided it made more sense to get it done.
No one is at fault for this, people live change. The band made this decision for their own sanity, and they need more support than anything else.
The timing is unfortunate, and I don\'t mind apologizing for that. The rest there wasn\'t much choice on. Jordan made a decision, we have had to deal with it.
-
Totally understand Vic. Life happens when you least expect it, right? I\'m going to put out some emails to some keyboardists I know about this opening.

i see things a bit more clearly now, so thanks. the band has never gone through anything like this before, and i certainly understand the emotional drain that this decision must have had on the band. nobody is pointing fingers or blaming anyone for the choice that jordan has made, as we\'ve all concluded throughout this thread it certainly was not a lighthearted decision.
i guess you just don\'t understand the bond that the fans (at least myself/and my close friends, self titled the "b\'fam") have with these guys. i\'d be lying if i said i didnt know this was coming for months now, but honestly, when i was making decorations for the 1000th show, i would have really liked to throw something special in for jordan since it would be the last time i\'d see the 4 guys together.... perhaps grooved a litttttle bit harder than usual to bid farewell to the band i\'m fanatical about....
but we surely always have and always will offer as much support as we can to these guys, cuz we love them like family. just wish i could have had a heads up and said goodbye, is all.
-
:sadban: Have to say, this has ruined my weekend. Just when I think I might get out to the States in the less distant future, I find we are saying goodbye to a great vocalist and probably the best keyboard player on the jamband scene. Let\'s hope the guys can luck out finding another player who at least approaches Jordan\'s calibre.
In the meantime, good luck with your day job, Jordan, whatever that may be. You will be sorely missed; I hope you can still fit some sit-ins with the guys for home gigs - ideally for when I finally get the chance to get over. ;)
-
Princess....
I\'ve been in and around bands for 30plus years...i definitely understand where you are coming from. As to the Toad\'s thing...we weren\'t expecting this to happen. Jordan was going to continue until perhaps September. I don\'t want to point any fingers...i happen to be very fond of Jordan and expect to work with him more in the future, but the situation just reached a point where something had to be done for the good of all parties.
Its certainly no fun for Jordan traveling to distant gigs when in his mind he has already taken himself out of the band. Sitting all together in the van can get kind of tense when things aren\'t right.
These guys spent 8 years living together and breathing the same air. Like many relationships, sometimes a bit of time apart makes all appreciate each other a lot better. And I\'m sure that will happen here. I\'m sure he\'ll sit in now and then, and it will be great. Who knows, under some circumstance he could even be back in the band at a later date.
Life does some funny things, I\'ve been around the block a few times, and seen an awful lot of it in the band world. Right now the most important thing is to keep the band healthy and stable, and moving up....whoever is in it.
Thanks for understaanding all. this has been a very difficult thing for all concerned.
-
with that being said. i hope they rock the shit out of beardslee tonight. can\'t wait to see and hear the setlist. i talked to jordan a few times before at setbreaks and what not, he seems like a real-down to earth guy and I will miss him being apart of the band.

since noone really knew that this would be it for Sequoia until the last moments, i think its unfair to say anything was unprofessional about it. i found out on the drive out there with Dobs, yet like many of us, knew that it was comming.
Sequoia is a strong hold that glued the band together and his style and influence on the jams is gonna be missed. After 1000 plus shows together i think its gonna take some time to really find someone who can gel with the talent of the other 3. Was enjoying every moment of last night..a few fuck ups here and there, but overall the sets were top notch. Jordan, i told ya last night, thanks for the effort and all u gave these past years and to some of the best memories ill ever have. Though he\'s left the band i think he\'ll always be a member.
-
I can\'t beleive that I had the opportunity to get to a show(cause my schedule doesn\'t allow it very often) and it just happened to be Jordans farewell. I went to the show on a whim and got it dropped on me in the parking lot that this was it!!! 10 min before the show!!! WOW The 2 1/2 hour ride was awesome with a beautiful setting sun in the rear view, the windows down, and mill st brews from may cranking on the radio. It was a perfect night.
I went backstage to see the boys and say hi and heard some whispers that they would be doing 3 sets which helped to return the smile to my face. I was really lucky to be there and I will never forget the 3rd set!! Front row right inbetween Tim and Jordan!! Thanks guys! Truly a night I will never forget.
Trey is a jedi but Tim is a wizard!!

Guess I have missed a few things.

i am gonna miss seeing Jordan play at the shows, he is so wondeful. my most memorable concert expeirience to date was made possible thanks greatly to his being so nice (and i get to remember every time i watch price is right!)
im so glad i saw the them all together on the 1000th....(getting sad again)....
all the best to Jordan, family is a most beautiful part of life.
and all the best to the breakfast in their worthy-keyboarder quest
-
space city was done i think to have fun with the psychedelic keyboard work and synth sounds for the last time
-
damn. that really blows. the man has a point. let alone supporting himself he has a wife and possibly family to support in the future. extremely sad to hear this, hope TB hits it huge somehow in the next few days so he can quickly jumb back on board. obviously that wont be the case. so i hope they find someone that has a similar VOICE as jordan, i dont think there will be a huge discrepancy in the keys after auditions, but finding someone to sing in his style is going to be tough. glad the last time i saw them all together was the spot where jordan said to me, "Im not used to playing on stages like this." I asked, "The best you\'ve ever made music on?" He said, "Yes." --HOB Chicago--
Good luck man, hope shit works out.
Where\'s the official setlist from last night?

Jordan, best of luck to you and your wife. Thanks for so many amazing times.

My only 3 negatives about this show are:
1. \'Psygn\'->\'Vermont Song\'...I know that it was Jordan\'s last show, but wait until you all hear the jam that they had going...it could have went many better places then a Bo Diddely rythmn.
2. \'Drum Solo\' out of the \'Queeb...again, hold off arguing until you hear this. The jam(s) in and out of this \'Queeb were NEXT LEVEL. It went places the Breakfast has never been...the place was out of control. This would have been the perfect time to split \'Overexposure\' from \'Late & the Great\' and tear down the venue. I know it has become fairly common to have a Drum Solo after \'Queeb, but this one hurt. I loved the solo, but it killed the energy of one of the most original Buquebus\'.
3. \'Surreal Radio\' encore. Simpleton or FBCC or WPOA would have been MUCH better.
ALSO, there was def a No Glove somewhere in this nights list.
-
so sad i missed this.
-
i was shocked to even see a drum solo with adrian\'s foot problem.
how did this show come out on tape? it should have been recorded by josh.

ahhh the recording. well Matt Vallo was doing a multi-track. Kyle and I having forgot to bring the battery (yes we do screw up from time to time :) ) patched in to Matts soundboard recording.
The 1st set and the 3rd set are with out issues, however the 2nd set is plauged by a few issues. There is a persistent buzz coming from the keyboard rig and there was also an unknown issue during the first 15 or so minutes of the 2nd set. I am going to have to play with the 2nd set a little so it will atleast be listenable IMHO. I was rushing to get the 2track version of the multi-track done when I became aware of theses issues. So its all on my HDD but as I said the 2nd set needs a little work. Not sure what Matts timeline is with this show so i\'ll send him an e-mail and see whats what.

Set 1 is spot on. I\'m not sure about 2 and 3. I will report back later tonight and see if there are any corrections additions etc.
Ijust want to thank anybody and everyone who happens to write setlists down. I have never been 1 of those people and you cannot imagine how nice it is as a taper to be able to refer to a setlist when tracking.
