@ KOTE
Kuspierski the Kote you\'d think he was a ghost (x4)
A strictnine down his long straight spine
A pint of lemon brown devine
Square wrap chewey rainbow shine
Depalmas in repetition he does mind
Pockets filled with kind (filled with fluffy kind)
When he comes to shows (you know he\'s always on time)
You won\'t see him later (he\'s leavin\' at 9)
Long green Kote is out, the Kote is outta line
Kuspierski the Kote you\'d think he was a ghost (x4)
American turquiose out in front
Best friends with our main man Jut
A schedule rations pretzel chunks
A liter of coke and he is drunk
Mets games he\'s a phan (with a P-H)
Wafer chips of noise (burns \'em for the band)
Bootleg car trip tokes (keeps it on the go)
Don\'t you doubt the Kote (you know he\'s cookin\' for ghosts)
-
i know this song is an old one that\'s almost never played...does anyone know anything about the lyrics of this song? is it written about somone the band knows?
-
Yes, a friend of the band\'s. From what I heard I guess he isnt even around anymore, thus one of the many reasons why the song was shelved. However, think of all of the obscure friends of Tom Marshall and Trey that grace numerous Phish songs ie Aaron Woolfe, Eliahu, Guela etc....
BRING BACK KOTE!!
-
its a really good upbeat tune, imo
-
pint of lemon brown devine= Newcastle
Square wrap chewy rainbow shine= Starbursts
-
So wait what is fluffy kind?
-
i stand corrected. lemon brown divine= iced tea.
newcastle would be more of a nutty brown divine
-
i always wanted this to end up on an album when they were psychedelic breakfast. it would have been awesome with a horn section.

yeah i feel that, sort of like a Dinner and a Movie-esque riff...horns would fit well
kinda reminds me of date rape a little too

What\'s with the slave-children digging a mass grave over yonder?
-
does anyone know the whereabouts of kote today? if we could get him to one show, maybe the band would play it.
-
I am very happy to see this Kote chatter. Good stuff guys. Kote for President.
Here\'s a brutally tough piece of Breakfast trivia for the next time you\'re talking hardcore Breakfast with someone and they haven\'t read this thread:
What 3 Breakfast songs mention a fan by name?
1. Kote (Jeff Kuspierski I think is his name. Also mentions "Jut" - Justin Maturo.)
2. Heather (Heather Palmieri, Tim\'s sister, in title only.)
3. Beer Jubilee (Yours truly, Wolfman :) )
Tough, tough question.

Does "Wild Pack of Asscracks" count now, due to the Ron Spears reference, or is that pushing the definition of "fan" a bit too far?
-
I would assume that you can add WPOAC to that list Wolf. There\'s reference to Joe and Radio Joe. If this is actually Ron\'s friend, then one can assume that he was an early fan of PB.
"Now Me and Joe really liked this soul"
"If you see Radio Joe and my friend Ron Spears"
-
Rufus is also a fan.
-
gypsy girl, thats about sallyalli right?
-
gypsy girl, thats about sallyalli right?
technically i dont think that would count cause wolf\'s quiz was what songs mention people BY NAME
-
That all depends on whether or not they refer to him as Rufus when talking to him. If they do, I think that a nickname counts.
-
but was the song written and Rufus named and became a fan or was Rufus a fan and became infamous through a song written about him.
chicken or the egg theory
-
I think that it was the later. I remember Rufus showing up at FF2 and we were wondering how he was going to react to the song.
-
gypsy girl, thats about gfunk right?
fixed

I\'d file that under its own trivia question. Ron\'s official title has to be "bass player emeritus" as opposed to just "fan". So the trivia question for that is "Which song references a former band member?"

fixed
:rimshot: good one Jim Gaffigan.
-
This song has grown on me a lot lately. A little weird (thats a good thing) but man, does the jam section ever SHRED though.
-
I equate this song to the biscuits song called Kitchen Mitts......Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww..... Want a bustout...call for Clean House.....
-
I\'ve been pimping Kote since 2006 and it never happened. Remember when my signature was "Kote for President" for about 3 years?
-
Kote is far from a dew it\'s a fun song with a super raging high octane jam
-
I have a vague, drunken memory of seeing this song played at a solo tim show at Richter's... circa 2005/2006
Def. Slept in the volvo wagon that night!
-
Nice Decade Boost on this threads last post. Lol. I would have to say that you are most likely probably correct.
-
Gencs! You were definitely at richter's that night..good to see you round these parts, homeboy
-
