a 5pm acoustic show 5 minutes from my house? how could you go wrong! For those who have not tried anything yet, the food is really good at jakes. Pat Keogh gets the save award of the night for helping Chad fix the feedback during setbreak. Can\'t wait for next sunday!!!

quote of the night: "I ran up to the bar to get one more order in and then realised it was only 8:30 and I still had a few hours before last call."

great show tonight! i absolutely love acoustic breakfast, it\'s such perfect music for sunday afternoons. great crowd as well... it was so great to see you all !

overall i thought the band sounded great. some sound issues at first but they got smoothed out relatively quickly. the first set was pretty mellow but certainly tight. mayfly was an unexpected surprise, and eschers sounded great as well.

second set was certainly my favorite of the two. see the light was inverted i believe, and it was absolutely HUGE. eppy 1 was well executed (a relief after RI on friday). really enjoyed matt\'s solo in DIG, his style really seems to mesh well with this song. buquebus was really awesome, got the place moving....translated really well to the acoustic setting without losing its intensity.

overall a really fun night, if you folks missed out it is certainly worth catching next week. diana & wolfman it was great to see you guys, its been so long! bfam!

I only cought the second set, but, damn it was hot.  Matt kicks ass.  I could not have imagined a place I would have rather been tonight.  Great playing, strong vibe, exciting show.  Sounded great, too, after some Pat Keogh magic.  Great seeing all you bFam.

Oh, we\'re starting Adrian\'s birthday celebration Thursday @ SBC.  I have Adrian and Matt playing the whole show and Timmy coming by for a good long sit-in later in the evening.  Show starts @ 9:30.

If any of you want to see Seanie Miller rip it up with us for a Smokin Boomers Reunion, give him a call or text him like crazy so he will come.  I\'ve been trying, but its going to take help from you people.  I know he\'s been in bad shape with the Arthritis, but even if he can\'t play, he can sing.  That would be good enough for me.  (203) 915-9916

Oh, and could one of you people with .info power throw up a thread about Thursday and the quest for a re-appearance of Seanie Miller.

Word.

Is Diana on the board and I just never matched up the user name with the person? Either way seeing her and Wolf, Ian, Drew, Lisa Spears, plus all the regulars I see all the time made last night a def treat.

sweet show...definitely a better time than friday night. first set was good, second set was great. i can\'t believe people were going to wait and see how the first show went before they saw it themselves. of course it\'s going to be sick...it\'s acoustic breakfast! fiery ball>see the light was without a doubt the best thing they played all weekend. it\'s been a while since i saw language so that was a highlight too.  and fairy, as many have said before, should always be played acoustic...the mandolin absolutely makes that song

can\'t wait for next week...i\'m coming hungry

Sundays are fun again. Football, Breakfast and friends.

If you waited around to see what Sunday was going to be like, you don\'t know the Breakfast.

The show had its moments but what I took away from this was, the 4 members really want this to happen for them. They found a place to play on Sundays for a month, that opens for them only and it gives them the chance to play together.

Its motivation enough for me.

Yesterday had me thinking how cool it would be for them to do combo shows.

First set acoustic, second and third set electric.

Their songs take on a whole new life when presented acoustic.  A combo show would be such variety for my palette, it would make for one tasty Breakfast.

Yeah there was a thread about this at one time but the search engine does not go back that far.

I think it would be an awesome way for them to get some publicity if they did a small tour like that.

This was my first time seeing the guys with Matt (ironically enough, my first time EVER seeing the breakfast was an acoustic show-Acoustic Cafe) and I enjoyed myself tremendously. Once the sound stuff was sorted out, I thought they sounded phenomenal. The whole second set was my highlight and I, too, love what Matt did in Dig. He has a lot of energy and he\'s INTO it.
I\'m very excited for what is to come.
On a side note: I\'m sorry for the ground-level ass slapping. I don\'t know what got into me but I was egged on by Gencs, so I will blame him for my behavior.

well, between that and jon\'s complete and utter ownage of todd after the show on friday, sending him to the ground with a THUD from a ferocious shoulder block, mr. anderson was involved with the 2 funniest moments at breakfast shows this weekend.

had a lot of fun at the show, just wish i wasn\'t injured. sound was awful in the first set, and it was hard to watch the band and the faces they were making while enduring the set-long feedback. set 2 had a couple moments as well, but was exponentially better overall. big ups to pat for coming through with the save.

see the light with adrian\'s solo, and dig (gasp!) with matt\'s solo were definitely the highlights for me. it was also great to hear fairy get pulled out, and matt\'s vocals were spot on.

it was my first time at jake\'s, and i think the place is great. the food, while small, was fantastic. i can put in good words for the tuna, grilled veggies :droool:, shrimp/scallop skewers, and the tomato/fresh mozz. apparently there\'s also a secret lunch menu, that if you know about it, you can order from it. i wish i knew about it, cause i saw some wraps coming out that looked fantastic.

the next 2 weeks should be great.

I: Beef Barley, Language Of The Gods, Escher\'s Etchings (Parts 1 & 2), Good Things, May Fly Disarray

II: Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky > See The Light*, Episode 1 (Happy), Dig, Buquebus, jam > Fairy

* inverted.

Acoustic show. Left to right:

Adrian on percussion & mandolin, Ron on acoustic bass, Tim on acoustic guitar, Matt on baby grand piano.

I thought I was going to get through this show without seeing one of the two bring-downs but I was had before the night ended.

Other then being plagued with some sound issues, there were definitely some good music being played. I am really like Escher\'s Etchings and May Fly is a another favorite.

The second set was all I needed. The jam in Great Big was really well. Buquebus was played well. Glad to finally hear Fairy live.

Good times.

uh, the only way to get an accurate head count is to see a head count.  who cares what it was anyway that will come in time, trust me.  the people who like the band went.  those who couldn\'t, that\'s ok, cuz what can ya do, but those who just didn\'t wanna go, eh, fuck em.  more for us....whatever that means.

anyway....the music in set one was quite good.....the sound however, was quite bad.  i\'m ALWAYS happy to see Language, but Mayfly and Echer\'s were my favorite though.  i can\'t put my finger on it but Echer\'s had like a weird minstrel/gypsie kinda sound to it that really made me like it that much more, if that\'s possible.   The "groove" for lack of a better term, in between the choruses during Mayfly was about as bad-ass as could be produced acoustically imo.  Really went to some strange places musically, both dark and happy at the same time, before finish up very powerfully, i really liked watching adrian enjoy matt\'s playing, it looked as though he was actually struggling to get a better view.  that only seemed to contribute positively to his own playing.  christ, i can\'t wait to see an electric Mayfly with matt...

set two was really like a completely different show though, so tight.  form begining to end it was really, really good, either matt has changed some of these songs in his own way intentionally or they just naturally worked out that way.  I\'m really loving this new sound A LOT.  i really can\'t pick a favorite, from the jazzy/latin sound in both GBFB and STL, which seemed to also have a nice little bluegrass touch to it as well, to the early days of jazz in Dig, it was all great.  I was wondering how Buquebus would translate over to acoustic, and i gotta say, WOW.  jen said in the car or before we left, now all they have to do is play Fairy, well once i heard those ever so familiar mandolin of all instruments, notes i got a little jolt, much like when she wanted me to ask for Merge at the wheel house, but then told me not to and they played it anyway.  yes people, i know these are just stupid coincidences, but their still kinda crazy.

can\'t wait for the next one and daniel street, where they always bring it.  to beat a dead horse; based on the time i actually HAD there, i will absolutely check out the next two.
