A.K.A.....sick adrian songwriting jamboree!!!!! man, wish i was there. glad to see metropolis as well....i\'m sure it was ridic as usual.....dude, this setlist makes work > blackrock pubcrawl seem like a huge mistake!! looking forward to the recording!!! :)
-
Wow..... truly saddened that I missed this. The keyboard>bass>drums>guitar frenzy must have been so great that there was no need for an encore. Sound>VT>Sound sounds like ser ownage. Can\'t wait to hear this one.
-
wow i\'ve never even heard bouree... ser bustout!
-
for real I\'m not gonna front and act like I knew what that song was ,, I think I called it as Beethoven cover on the live webcast
-
who did the run? which night was better?

Friday was stellar, but the Saturday show may have been better sound quality? Just guessing because I wasn\'t there.
-
Solid show. Highlight: Metropolis. Second highlight: the jam that transitioned Honey Butter to Rush.

i doubt it. toads is not the best sounding room in my opinion.
-
first set was lackluster/low energy until rush, which was awesome. adrian tore up the rush jam. wtf was a good second set opener. felt a little slowed down. i love metro and this was a good one. l&tg was ok. overexposure was my highlight of the night. if it wasn\'t my favorite song before it is now. it brings exactly what i want from the band. i wouldn\'t have called the jam before taboo "solos" but whatever. yeah the sound at toad\'s sucks.
-
overexposure was my highlight of the night.
Watching on the webcast, it was my favorite of the night. i can\'t imagine the energy live...
-
Sick show! Only correction is it was Sound > VT > Sound
Ehh it was a shorter return then they give to TFA in sandwiches.
Is it worth the notation?
-
i love metro
-
Yeah. I really did not think they officially went back into The Sound and am awaiting verification.
-
they went into the sound for like a 2 second finish. but yeah they didn\'t end it at the normal vt song ending.
-
any chance to watch this webcast or was it a just a one time live thing. if i knew there was a webcast i would have been on in a heartbeat
-
I don\'t know, you could try the link and see if it\'s still in matts user profile or something but I have not really looked at the site yet. ken taped it either way, so eventually it will make its way out.

so was the show recorded strictly for audio purposes as well while being simulcasted? In other words can we expect a recording to surface?

I recorded the webcast feed to my laptop while feeding the net. I played the file back yesterday and it has no video and the audio is choppy. I need to figured out how to have blogtv archive it. More research needs to be done I know it can be done.
Also, I recorded a soundboard matrix audio and I will upload that later tonight or tomorrow. I have to plant a garden today.

Try this:
Interwebs > Google > Gardening
try to keep it on the d/l...don\'t want it to blow up

nice job matt with the SB, cant wait to hear it.
PS, i planted a garden this year for the first time...so far so good

Closet gardens are ahnice!

underground trailers are even better...if you\'re that crazy:)
I hope everyones gardens provide bountiful harvests.
oh, and (for me) that was a super fun show saturday night and my first metropolis so i\'ll call that my musical hightlight.

There are many factors to consider when choosing plants. If you aren\'t careful, a plant that seems great at first totally takes over everything in a year or two.
There seems to be some buzz over native plants. That could be something to look into. There may be a cooperative extension or a nursery/garden center that could offer some suggestions.
You should look at how much light each area gets per day, and what the soil conditions are like. Some things will thrive in poor soils while others need a well prepared bed to grow well.
I could ramble on and on and am off topic, so to bring it all back around, this show looks ser on paper and I really wish I could\'ve made it. I look forward to hearing your recording Matt.

Closet gardens are ahnice!
fantastic double entendre.
-
So a girl walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a Double Entendre.
The bartender "gave it to her".
:rimshot:

Michael Buerk on watching Phillipa Forrester cuddle up to a male astronomer for warmth during BBC\'s UK eclipse coverage remarked:
"They seem cold out there, they\'re rubbing each other and he\'s only come in his shorts."

I\'m guessing any kind of gardening Skye would be engaged in wouldn\'t really have to be kept on the down-low.
When some people say they are growing tomatoes, they really are ;)

Pretty sure I haven\'t heard Bourée since 5-5-2001 @ Quadfest.
Any other notes from the show? Not much said thus far for a hometown appearance.

I was looking for more specifics that I wouldn\'t necessarily be able to gather - attendance, crowd nannies, openers, "who spilled an entire beer on.....", "wanted to nail a high schooler on the all ages side", "how awesome the pizza was beforehand", "Best Red Square show ever" - the usual items that are posted about and cannot be experienced on LMA.
If I don\'t have time to listen to an entire 2-3-hour show, it\'s nice to get pointed in the direction of the highlights if I feel like skipping ahead.

Come on it was a Toad\'s show and from the roll call you couldn\'t gather that Zuke spilled that beer all over Ren,
Drew was checking out the under 21 side and it\'s fucking New Haven of course the Pie was awesome?
As for skipping ahead you suck as a Breakfast fan. Every note this band plays is precious and special. How you could even consider skipping any of it is fucking ridiculous.
You been living in CA. waaaay too fucking long man. Next thing you know you\'ll be posting how cool it was seeing TLG at some freakin\' hippie fest in the mountains or something.
:sigh:

Tortugas or bust
Actually, all the Garden talk in this thread already pointed in the TLG direction.

Totally :)

I\'ve only listened to set 1 so far, but here are the highlights for me:
Bouree - nice homage to the past and a clean version
Vermont Song - it\'s nice to hear Jordan back on the vocals for this tune
Honey Butter - Jordan has a really sick synth jam
Rush - The jam actually reminds me a little of the intro to "Break the Ice" from the movie Rad

You know....i probably could plant something else, and no one would ever notice or suspect me.........

^^ i like it when someone actually tries to give me a serious answer. thank you. i will definitely ask the local nursery. :)

attendance continues to disappoint at toad\'s. i hate that venue. i heard 190 paid
there was some hot...no wait warm...no...tepid lesbian action going on directly in front of tim. so i heard. i refused to look.
i heard the openers sucked.
didn\'t see much spillage. except for the pint of jack that i was spilling into the large cup of coke that i bought.
there were several high school girls that looked like they had taken some ecstasy before the show. at least thats what the glow sticks and pacifiers (yes, pacifiers) suggested. i thought about it for about 2 seconds
went to original pepe\'s before hand. it was very good. half pepp half chee and three of us couldn\'t finish it until the drunken ride home
-
^^i saw those high school girls in the bathroom and they were hilarious....just hilarious....oh to be young again....
-
^^^ 29 is not old...even in sports years:)
Timmy throwing his stool at the end of the night and jumping up and down (probably re-injuring his ankle) like a crazy person was classic...I had forgotten about that untill I listened to the Taboot.
-

Ahem, Shaune. If you are old at 20, I\'m ancient at 30.
in any case, if i saw girls with pacifers rolling on e, i thinking i would have felt old also. especially if they were wearing UFO pants and candy necklaces........
-
Tracey I am as old as you are :)
no candy necklaces or ufo pants...that would have been a real flashback...but they were kinda cute..in the bathroom smoking cigs...talking about going to college in colorado in the fall and how much fun prom will be...haha....and of course how totally sick the breakfast was and how they couldnt wait to tell everyone in school on monday :)
-
Last time I was @ Toads there were some real nannies going on in the guy\'s bathroom. I took a piss and got the fuck outta there asap as soon as it dwelled on me what was going on. \'nuff said.
-
I\'m sittin at work listenin to the show doin some paperwork... but did anyone else notice the what sounded like Jordan teasing Jessica right before they went into VT Song? I thought I heard it that night but attributed to my mind hearing something it wanted to, but on second listen I think I was actually right.
-
The 2 woman sucking face and grinding on the monitor front and center was interesting.

So far...The Tunage> Bouree> Tunage section is is hot! The intro to The Sound is minimized but fitting, then the initial jam out flows well...
About 8 minutes and change into The Sound, there is a great looped effect of the guitar run. Delightful floaty key notes and swishy drumming!

Now that I hear it more, I can agree, but at least it was taped!
