i really like the looks of this setlist! gotta make it down next week or my head won\'t be able to take anymore bangin :banghead:
-
Such a great show. It had been way too long since I had seen the Breakfast. Can\'t wait to do it again next week.
-
wish i made it down..next week. i definatley think i remember hearin Im So Glad years ago. Hope they kill it at the resort..see yous next week!
-
Damn! That\'s one heady setlist! Definitely old school, like Igzy said. Did Fitzy, or anyone else tape? Would love the hear this one.
i definatley think i remember hearin Im So Glad years ago.
That was my first thought too, but then remembered they played "I Feel Free", at The Freakout in 2006
-
My bad i gotta go edit a few things.... did this shortly after waking up...
-
real old school. nice. gonna make one of these residency shows. been too long.
-
Funky Bill\'s Circus Cliche. Not LOTG. Thankfully. Great Ep 3. Really happy to see Sundance. Doughboy was really good. Coma was as good as it usually is. What the Funk had some really great moments too. It seemed to take them a little while to get on the same page for the jam in Buquebus, but once they did, hoooly shit...it was played as well as they possibly could\'ve played it. I have no idea when the last Funky Bill\'s was, my guess would be even a while before Ron left, but I\'m probably wrong, that\'s probably the last time I heard it tho. Good time. Hope to hear this one soon, it was a long, rough week and I let loose a bit too much and wanna hear if the things I liked best were really that good or if I just thought they were. I have a feeling it was that good.
-
whole show was fun, but i really can\'t wait to hear set 1 again.
-
I\'d just like to take a look at it.
-
I\'d just like to take a look at it.
this^^
...and Funky Bills! :banghead: ouch
-
if it was anywhere as good as the past couple shows, i\'m sure it was damn good.
-
no problems at all last night. Stellar performance.. just a very very great time.
Existential Funk was extra incredible. Hope to see everyone+1 next week!
Chris taped. I\'m sure it\'ll be sounding super nice.
-
what a nice setlist! they are reaching a little further into the catalog which is great to see! Didn\'t they do I\'m So Glad last year, Westcott perhaps?
-
sweet show!
where the fuck are the ct people?? i could name maybe 10 bfam there total (half of them drove an hour plus). give me a fucking break, and some of you wonder why they play so little shows
-
naww kad, you make a fair point, but by the end of the night I was suprised just who came out of the woodwo0rk
My question is. In CT is it hard to make friends? and bring them to insanely awesome music?
at least bring some girls, tell em you\'ll introduce em to the band or whatever. works for me all the time. amirite?
most ser bustout of the night was Gavin making it down there.. imo
-
dude is at pretty much every show, that aint no bustout funky bills takes the cake soarry Gabo ;)
-
Funky Bill\'s is up! More on the way!

so are you saying it was a dooze, there was just not that many people you personally knew or there was no bitches? which one?
-
well,
I personally knew pretty much everybody there. That might have been the problem. To me it wasn\'t a problem, though, I just expected a line out the door, you know?
Far from a dooze, actually a rather lively crowd especially strong towards the 2nd set (late turnout), I just thought on Bfast home turf this would be like a highly exclusive event or something. But if they wanna play more Mass and Hampsh shows in the future, that works for us.
-
Living in CT, and not trying to offend anyone, but a lot of CT people that I know are kinda like, "eh," or have a way of thinking they\'re too cool for/with pretty much everything. So to me it\'s no surprise. Don\'t get me wrong there are plenty of people out there who like to have fun, but apparently going out to see music isn\'t what they\'re choosing to do. Friends of mine used to go to shows anywhere there were shows to go to. But now they don\'t. They think that going to bars to see bands is for the younger people or not cool anymore. I personally think that a lot of the CT people who were 20-25 when the band started up, and went to every single show, trust me, WE did and ALL the same core of people were there literally every single time, are all 10-12 years older, have kids, "real" jobs and have just lost the desire to go. Apparently it\'s strange to go and see a band that you love and gets you off like no other for more than a couple of years because my friends and family are all like, "you STILL go and see them?!?? What\'s wrong with you?!??" That\'s just my guess. For me, as long as they\'re playing and I can afford it or am able to go, I will.
-
That\'s what I\'m sayin, bro. I may be 28. But, very much still alive. Didn\'t realize that was really all that old. Could care less what the kids across the street think is cool. I know what\'s cool to me. Stayin\' in school. Obeyin\' the rules. Icicles and wolves. Drankin\' O\'Douls. Peeing in pools. Puddles of drool. Just keepin\' it cool.
-
wish i made it down..next week. i definatley think i remember hearin Im So Glad years ago. Hope they kill it at the resort..see yous next week!
I remember \'I\'m so glad\' as far back as Butterfield Feb 2000.

Anyone consider some may have bought their Rock and Roll Resort ticket to see Kung-Fu and The Breakfast and all sorts of killer bands and thus couldn\'t make this one since it started last night?
It\'s a residency folks know this and may just be picking their shows since for once they have the leisure to do so as yes many have grown up and have to "fit" The Breakfast in to busy lives.
-
turnout was decent. people even by the end of the show were still packing in tight to the stage and dancing hard. (a heady \'queb will do that!) good energy all around and a great show. ser jams all night.
long live the breakfast!!!
next friday is my last day of work before starting a new job. me thinks i should celebrate! :D
-
me thinks i should celebrate! :D
me thinks I should help...
-
I did consider it Leith, and I\'m sure there were a few at the resort who\'d probably have gone. Sorry guys, about the negativity, sometimes it just gets to me when I\'ve seen attendance drop over the years. It can be frustrating at times.
-
You don\'t need to apologize. I am right there with you. Its hard to fathom why attendance has decreased when the music is better than it ever has been. If I can be there, there is no place I\'d rather be and will continue to make it happen. Long live the Breakfast!!
I love just reading this setlist. It fits right in with the rest of 2011 slaying it and slapping fools around! Thanks guys for breaking out some of these tunes more often. Keep \'em coming!
I really want to hear this WUIAC > WTF!!!! TDF ser fer sher
-
The show was a success! Filling a room to capacity is a dilemma all bands struggle with.
Figure out a solution? Who the heck knows?
I saw bunch of folks having a good night out.
The band has the right stuff!
-
sweet show!

personally, I had all intentions of going. But me, rain, and cold weather don\'t mix so well. I\'ve been sick since I got back from vacation. (temp changes killed me.) I Have all plans for going next week.
I think with a residency as it has happened various times (i.e. daniel street a few years back), some shows will be packed and some won\'t be. Not everyone can make it to every single Friday. But I am sure everyone in the CT fan base will make it to at least one show.

Exactly.
-
I wonder how many people actually did go to R&R Resort as an alternative to Acoustic Cafe.
I had the opposite reaction when I saw the Resort announcement. I chose not to go to that because of the Acoustic Cafe residency. The Resort was way out of my price range. Driving an hour every Friday night for the next few weeks just seems like a better idea to me.
I can\'t wait for next week and the weeks to follow.
-
^^
Yeah, same. Resort was priceyyyy.... and Cafe = 2 sets, intimate vibe. Seemed like the obvious choice to me :)
Ken, your videos look/sound GREAT!
-
Good mic placement and some lights for the camera help.
The show lighting was brighter than usual.

I hope the turnouts get bigger and bigger. I know if Bridgeport weren\'t such boobs about letting underage kids in there I wouldve had about ten more people there... as well sa the ability to invite more. I\'m sure the older people on this forum is tired of hearing me bitch about how Im not old enough to get into the 21 + shows, but goddamn I think the crew that I come with always bring nothing but good vibes and dank dance moves... along with some eye candy for you single bachelors :) Hope the residency gets better and better and maybe by the last one we can find someway to get the little guys in there
-
I\'m coming next week so help me God..

I\'m the girl that 4 years ago claimed i didn\'t go to a show cause i didn\'t want to walk across new haven alone.
But no seriously. I had the chills on friday evening. getting wet would have made it worse.
either that or I would have melted....
in any case, i will be there this friday.
-
It might have been that I was just hammered, but that 2nd set is why I go to see the Breakfast. These guys are SOOO good.
-
These guys are SOOO good.

gotcha! is there a way to navigate your page that i\'m missing? i\'m a youtube noob. i only really find a particular vid, i don\'t usually go to people\'s channels. so when i clicked on show all, they started with stuff you uploaded 5 months ago. there\'s got to be a button i\'m missing... like i said, not real adept at this... but thanks for all you do!!

Apparently it\'s strange to go and see a band that you love and gets you off like no other for more than a couple of years because my friends and family are all like, "you STILL go and see them?!?? What\'s wrong with you?!??"
I have to give an "amen" to this...and it can happen younger than you think. From 1999-2002 at UMass we had a crew of 20 that went to EVERY show and a crew of 250 that went to every show in Amherst or Northampton. But by 2003 when I would tell any of these people that I was going to see PB, they would respond with "Oh, are they still playing?" or "Oh you STILL see them? What are they up to?" These people simply moved on which is fine, but they kinda looked down on me as a fanboy or groupie or something when I continued to do 10-20 shows a year from \'03 on...usually traveling by myself and just meeting up with B\'fam when I got there. I think both sides make sense and ideally nobody would turn their nose at anyone because it\'s all good either way. I can totally see why people would stop going or "grow out of it" and obviously I can also see why people would want to continue to go see a band they like so much . Nobody who goes to a show should question the motives of those who don\'t go, nor do I think anyone who sits out a show should question the motives of those who go. Just let bygones be bygones I guess.
I\'m psyched to have 4 Breakfast shows and 3 Kung Fu shows on my calendar right now, but I\'ve more or less stopped talking about these shows with everyone besides .info people.

Also click- see all, then date added pops up. Click date added. The more recent uploads will start.
It\'s all there! note: my videos pop over to my facebook also. note: got some video tweets going too!
