The Coen Brothers (The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Barton Fink) have a new movie coming out on Nov 9. It\'s called No Country for Old Men, It\'s an adaptation of a novel by Cormac McCarthy (All the Pretty Horses). The Coen Brothers are IMHO absolutely genius, they have their own distinctive style with visuals and dialogue. Def check out some of their flicks if you never have. Cormac McCarthy is a very revered author and a bit of a recluse. I read the book and am very excited to see this, it\'s pretty different for the Coen brothers but I can see them running with it.

:shrug: I will admit the trailer isn\'t great, but it\'s the Coen brothers. One of those artists I\'ll check out their latest project just cause it\'s them, and as I said I read the book and it was pretty good. Cormac McCarthy also has a phenominal reputation.

I\'d be into the idea if you went to a theatre in Hartford... but I imagine you guys will probably hit one up closer to home.

i enjoyed ladykillers and everything else they ever did, but the best part of IT was the opening titles.

:that: Hartford would be the place to meet up. I tried to see where it was playing (it\'s only in "select theaters") but since it doesn\'t come out till friday they don\'t list anything yet, atleast on fandango.
I enjoyed IC, yeah not their best but as per most Coen movies great characters, come on you had to love Billy Bobs character.

FUCK!!! DOUBLE FUCK! I was really excited to see this movie.......
BUT.................. it is not showing in Hartford or New Haven. I couldn\'t think of anywhere else in the psuedo area that it would be showing. Only thing I found was in NYC, and I think White Plains. It might just be for a few weeks till they see how it\'s doing, but I\'m kinda pissed. I really wanted to see this in the theater, I guess it\'s just wait and see now.

ok I went to the official site for the flick and it opens nationally on Nov. 21.
So anyone still interested maybe we can hit it up before the Fairfield show. (although I think this is the day after Thanksgiving) Or the day after the Fairfield show.

I\'m probably going to have to watch it by myself up here in the Shire. (Which means I will probably wait until it\'s on DVD.)Nobody over the age of 18 seems to go to movies around here, unless it\'s Chunky\'s because you sit in old car seats and are served (yellow) beer while you watch the movie.

This place is kind of a restaurant/theatre/pub. I believe they call it a "cinema pub." Unfortunately they have run-of-the-mill food, a piss poor beer selection, and very few movies to choose from. If someone could do this ("cinema pub") right, however... boy would that be a cash cow.

Beers make too much noise in the theatre. My suggestion is a bottle of liquor. Crack the seal before you get in. Rum is a good choice. And just buy Cola at the refreshment stand.

ok so this movie is GREAT! I wouldn\'t say it\'s their best. But still a great movie. A little slow paced but it makes up for it with the edge of your seat feeling throughout. It\'s missing the Coen comedic touch, but it\'s appropriate cause it would be really out of place. It\'s also very loyal to the book. I would def recommend.

I know the Oscars mean nothing, but it looks like they finally got something right.
