anybody going to this? i don\'t think i know one person that even listens to them. presale is on friday at 10 am
i\'ve only heard \'sky blue sky,\' and i love it...but i\'ve heard that \'a ghost is born\' and \'yankee hotel foxtrot\' are even better.
i guess if i get tix and don\'t end up going i can make some money on ebay...

definatley going to be there.. so glad they are coming up from Philly before heading down to the south. Theres a few people here i know will be going too so if you get tickets and go, you will be in good company. The tickets should also be on sale at the Schubert and will be a great place to see them.

Looks like another night on the town in beautiful and always welcoming downtown New Haven. Definitely want to get tickets to this and check Wilco out. I might have a problem since T****y doesn\'t like hecklers and I enjoy heckling, shit I do it professionally now, for better or worse.

No, unfortunately not. I called tickets.com and it\'s a sponsor (who she would not reveal) that owns this passcode. Bummer, i\'ve been on wilco\'s fanclub list and they send out passwords all the time. Not for this one though

yeah, by the time i got online, it was single tickets. my boyfriend was on hold with the box office for a half hour...we hung up and gave up.... he is buying them for me through a ticket agency...i wont even tell you how much they are. you\'ll all kill me!

I don\'t know dweazel weasel by user name, but I also don\'t know who coris friend is who got the tickets, so I don\'t know if that conversation is even valid over the price of the tickets. Either way, I don\'t know why you are specifically calling me out on a message board over a price for a ticket. Furthermore, if you do know me at all, you would know how I feel about scalping and that I would never paid you anything above the face value, so I don\'t see how you would be doing me a favor by only charging me that amount.
As for Alex and Chris, if you have problems with Jessica then you need to discuss them with her. This is not the place for it, and just because someone has been listening to a band less time than you have does not automatically ensure that you should get priority over them for tickets to a concert chris.

awesome show. I got everything I could think of. For a being there fan, this was probably the best setlist you could have dreamed of. Highlights: Shot in the arm, radio cure, hotel fuckin\' arizona, jesus ect, misunderstood (best song of the night imo), theologians, walken, on and on and on, heavy metal drummer, RED-EYED AND BLUE!!!!, Monday and outtasite (outta mind). The only other thing they could have possibly played was passenger side but I\'m more than satisfied.
what a show. If wilco somehow doesn\'t do anything for you as a studio band, they are even better live. I can\'t believe I\'ve wasted all these years not seeing them. Wish I brought the camera, there was no security to speak of. People dancing in the isles, nothing against porcupine tree dave, but this was one of the best concerts I\'ve ever seen. sic.sic.sic. :drool: :banrock:

I am so sad i missed this. i was given the choice of buying the foo or the wilco tickets. and i chose the foo. happy with my choice, but still would have loved to hear on and on and on live.... how was the venue itself for a concert? I mean, ive been there for plays and etc.

The show most a perfect balance of beautiful sounds, deep deep poetry, GREAT performances (nels is clearly a virtuoso) and fun. The complete package.
After seeing them live, I\'m beginning to think that they might be the most important rock band of our generation (i.e. excluding the rock pioneers/dylan types of the 60\'s and 70\'s). Perhaps a good subject for a separate thread...
Think about it, how many other modern bands can you name that have reached their level of recognition without significant pop star/commercial marketing? Purely on their merits, they have become huge. If you add into the mix t****y\'s role in pioneering alt-country with Uncle Tupelo, you come to the conclusion that this guy might turn out to be the most influential artist to come up in our lifetime.
Okay - that\'s an over-the-top exageration, but it\'s worthy of debate....

I mean, they basically played every song I wanted to hear, and that I thought I had a realistic shot of hearing, with the exception of \'I Am Trying To Break Your Heart\'. Really couldn\'t have asked for a better selection of songs.
Simply a marvelous show in every way, from the quaint setting, to the clearly well-schooled and attentive crowd, to Wilco\'s playing, which is just as outstanding when they take it down several notches as when they bring it up.
The encore ovation was ridiculous and unquestionably deserved.
Oh, and one more thing: if you\'re a Wilco fan, especially one who was at last night\'s show, do yourself a favor and buy Being There.

Just got Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It\'s good. I\'ve listened to it 5 times because I\'m really trying to validate the immense hype, though, and haven\'t yet.

Just got Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It\'s good. I\'ve listened to it 5 times because I\'m really trying to validate the immense hype, though, and haven\'t yet.

Funny because Radio Cure was easily my favorite track from the first spin. It\'s genu-ine red wine breezy banter. I love it.
And its seg into War On War is splendid.

T****y and Wilco touch on a lot of themes in YHF and all their albums. Though most seem to do with love and heartbreak, lots of it touches on what was the deteriorating condition of T****y mentally and physically yet theres a sense of hope and dealing with it (like in the \'distance has no way\' part on Radiocure). Gordo, check out \'Kicking Television\' . Being from Chicago, you must be surrounded by lots of Wilco crazys.

In the last week I\'ve watched a few live videos on YouTube and everything with Nels is the shit. That\'s why I ordered Kicking. I also read an article a few years ago in Guitar Player about Nels joining the band and was intrigued, but kept it on the back burner.
Needless to say today I woke up and can\'t stop playing "Jesus, etc." in my head. Foxtrot is growing on me whether I believe it or not. The melody in "War On War" is so fucking good, another stuck in my head.
