Title: Disc burning help needed
Post by: skalnbyc on January 06, 2005, 11:46:45 pm
I have been using my sister\'s computer to burn Breakfast disks for people.  I have been told that the disks have two second pauses between tracks.  Dave and Andy (Boombox) both told me that the disks are being burnt on track-at-once mode instead of disk-at-once mode.  I want to know if anyone is familiar with Windows Media Player and it\'s burning software.  I looked at every option on the software for 15 minutes and could not find a way to switch to Dick-at-once mode.

HELP!!!

Simple answer - change your software. You should be able to track down a copy of Nero easily as it often comes pre-bundled with burners or you could use EAC or BurnAtOnce which are both free and very small downloads, or I could send you them.

BTW, gaps or not, the discs are great!!!

Why are there gaps between the songs on CDs that I create? I want to burn CDs without these gaps.

The technology used to create a CD that does not have gaps between tracks is called Disc-at-Once (DAO), and it refers to how the laser writes information to a CD. Windows Media Player does not use this technology; the Player inserts two-second gaps between tracks on a CD. To create CDs that do not have gaps between tracks, you will need to use a plug-in for Windows Media Player, or use a different CD-creation program.

al, this might help you -
