Excellent.

I will be posting Record Stores that have allowed promo in the past for MA, CT and NY later today. If you know of any other places to promo please share, so that we can build this list (doesn\'t have to be record stores)

Thanks

Contact a member of the entertainment staff on the Collegian and request that he/she check out the band and notify the campus of the upcoming show.

UMass needs lots of work for grassroots promotion, especially since most of the old fanbase from back in the day has graduated and moved on.  As we have seen in the past, the potential is there for a large fanbase as there are so many jamband enthusiasts looking for great live music.

Before school begins, visit the Collegian website and get a sense of who writes on the entertainment staff.  Then, target the person or people who may be most sympathetic to our cause (there is usually at least one columnist that covers jamband shows).  If he/she is unfamiliar with the band, ask if you can provide some samples to get acquainted with the powerful music.

So its officially sept. 4th....the boys rocked moe.down, and the summer has come to end (sorry but its true).  I just moved back to amherst and can\'t wait for this show, but there\'s a couple problems.
First off i have emailed tim twice to get promo materials for the show with no response (i understand that its been a busy month for the boys, but if he hasn\'t checked his email for about a month now, how can he possibly be in control on the grassroot promos for the band)
Secondly this show isn\'t even on the calender!

i\'d love to start putting up posters around amherst and noho, or at least get some materials to start copying or whatever....spacey i know u said u could talk to tim for me, but if anyone else has the urge please do so and let me know (via reply or pm). what i can do ro get in touch with him.

thanks,
wtfunk

Last time I went to the Iron Horse last yr., it was a blast!  People were very nice & there was a lot of room to move... Just be careful - I recall Sierra costing $5 a bottle! OUCH!

Good thing I drink Miller Lite.

on the promo side of it all, outside of Whatthefunk, does anyone else live or attend school in this area?

How has past attendance at the Iron Horse been for the breakfast?

This is a good location to get newbs to the show or people who like live music.

so i\'m gonna go ahead and give this thread a nice lil  (http://img386.imageshack.us/img386/9933/untitled8ea.png) (http://imageshack.us)  cause i\'m friggin\' psyched for this show, and i\'ve got about 15+ of my freinds from school psyched for this show, plus flyers posted in record stores, on campus, etc.

been hearing lots of talk about rev hall, and believe me i\'m psyched for that too, but all i wanna know is who\'s coming to the Iron Horse!?!? its three days away and like i said i\'m friggin\' psyched!!!!

Well, the April, 2000 show had about 20 people, all sitting.  (They played a 40 minute opener for Dr. Didg.)  The next time they played there on 9/14/01 was the only time I can remember people being turned away from a Breakfast show due to no more room :)

But really, whatthefunk, you rock.  You sound just like me 4 years ago.  Al wrote a piece for the Collegian about The Breakfast that got published, you can do the same, even if it\'s after the show.
