Looks pretty badass to me. We got tickets to the midnight showing tonight. I only go to the theaters about 3-4 times a year but I\'m really excited to see this one. Anyone else going to see it this weekend?

nothing will beat keaton/nicholson in the original, but christian bale is a close second, and it looks like heath ledger is going to put on a great final performance

I\'ll be seeing this on Sunday. I can\'t wait. I\'ve watched so many short specials and literally look from my rooftop at Gotham City. It\'s fucking insane that Bale actually leaned over Sears Tower\'s edge (of course with some rope support but.....).  The performances are supposed to be fantastic and the filmwork superb. I thought Batman Begins was phenomenal, this should be a no doubter.

It is no longer surprising to me that Heath Ledger went off the deep end. Such an amazing performance.

Wow.  Heath Ledger was really fucking good, so was Aaron Eckhart.  awesome movie for sure, and the views of the Gotham were sick...this whole movie was sick!!  definitely THE movie of 2008 (even though i\'ve only really seen this and Wall-e so far and that was a disappointment).  i didn\'t see batman begins, i\'m definitely going to watch it now.

Yeah, he was fantastic. I\'d put this one above all other Batman movies, hands down.

Wow. Really? No Keaton/Nicholson love?

Batman (1989) and The Dark Knight are incomparable. I personally liked The Dark Knight better, but it\'s like comparing a Grateful Dead album to a Slayer album: they aren\'t trying to accomplish the same thing artistically, so there is no subjective way to say which is better.

can you see this movie without having seen the last few batmans and still have a good idea of what is going on?

The only one that is recommended (borderline necessary) viewing would be Batman Begins, which is definitely worth seeing anyway.

they are incomparable, you\'re right.

i just think the original is awesome and gotham city is pretty damn cool looking in the first one... for 1989 it was kind of a big deal.

i can\'t wait to see this new one... heath ledger came a long way from 10 things i hate about you. such a tragic story... looks like he went out on a high note though

saw this last night and was blown away... i was convinved that i would end up passing out in the theater but was on the edge of my seat come the end of the film at 2:45ish. even if you haven\'t seen all of the batman movies, make a point to try and catch this one while it\'s in the theater.

he stole the show. i heard something about how he basically became an insomniac during the making of the film and pretty much lost his mind after staying in joker character...

So much conflicting information has come out about Ledger; with people saying he was always in character while others say that he was very normal when not in the Joker character. Maybe it\'s not giving Ledger enough credit for being such a fine actor, but it\'s hard for me to accept that playing the Joker character had nothing to do with his overdose.

Technically a spoiler, depending on how anal you are about movies, so I\'ll give it it\'s proper courtesy:
One of the most harrowing moments for me was watching Ledger, in the midst of absolutely owning the Joker character, saying the something like, \'"In their last moments, you find out so much about who people really are." (I think that\'s the exact quote, but it was after 2am, so who knows)
Anyway, my not-so-bold prediction is that Heath scores the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. His performance was good enough that he\'ll get enough legitimate votes, and the sympathy vote will push it over the top; he deserves it one way or another after getting robbed of the Best Actor Oscar for Brokeback Mountain.

great movie. absolutely no let-downs.
i was happy no one mentioned the Two-Face business before i saw the flick. my favorite Joker moments were at the station after he got arrested-- sitting in the cell and in the interrogation room. he was absolutely phenomenal straight through. the nurse get up was also classic.
i\'ll definitely be seeing it again, next time in an imax theatre.. all imax\'s in the chicagoland area were sold out until late monday night. navy pier had 72 straight hours booked. fucking 3am and 5am sold out shows three straight days!

Okay, so I saw "The Dark Knight" this weekend.   It lived up to all the hype.    But i have to say, that was a lot of script.  I almost felt like they could have made two movies there with all that.

Saw it last night.  There was a great very Breakfasty line, I think it went:

Joker: Madness, my friend, is driven by gravity.

No dude, we need to get on the horn and see if we can\'t get an anouncement that The Breakfast is the offical band of the movie.

(THEN, the breakfast will really start cooking)

Just got back from the IMAX, WOW.  just wow!  Great movie.  I\'m sure it\'s already been said but Heath Ledger is amazing.  Easily the greatest role of his career.

In other news: winning an Oscar won\'t keep you from driving a 1997 Nissan Maxima.
