Easy Wind - Grateful Dead
That should be the next cover they bust out.
-
meh.. they play enough dead covers...
-
You can never have enough dead.. Whats the song that goes like" Something in the streets of Chicago? I forget who wrote it.
-
As long as it\'s not "Wheel In The Sky"...
-
journey baby
-
I agree with Pecker in that they already play enough dead... China Cat, I know You Rider, US Blues, Shakedown St., Scarlett, Help On The Way, Slipknot...
The dead is one of those band that are tough to cover, IMO... nothing ever quite captures the magic of the original...
I say they need to bust out with some WSP covers... LOL!... yeah right, like that will ever happen....
-
"whoa, mama i\'m in fear for my life from the long arm of the law..."
bust out the aqua net and lets rock!
I vote no on easy wind. gotta go with the peckanator. heres my thinking on the subject:
1. there not a cover band
2. there are better gd songs than easy wind
3. there not a cover band
4. they already cover gd and people know it
5. there not a cover band
6. I\'d rather hear episode 3
7. If I wanted to see a cover band I\'ll go see good time boys, because there a cover band.
I\'m not saying I dont like hearing tb doing covers, but I\'d rather hear them write some more new material than see them learn another cover.
-
I agree with the "rather hear new material" sentiment, but since we\'re talking covers:
"Sympathy For The Devil" - Rolling Stones
-
one of these days!!!!!!!!(im gonna cut you into pieces!!)
-
They should play a mock song. Some real famous pop song and jam the shit out it. barbie girl by aqua would be real funny I think. Play it as more as a joke then anything.
-
I agree with the mock song idea. How about one of the originals off the "Rock Star" soundtrack? "Die Young" "Stand Up and Shout" I think are two titles. 80\'s arena rock on a club level.
-
Disco Biscuits already did that...
-
and....NO MORE new dead covers...
-
The mothership has landed. Imagine if George Clinton came out and did a few numbers.. Who wants the funk? Did you eat your breakfast? Then you can have the funk!!!
Or an Atomic Dog Opener!!!!
-
Atomic dog is one of the worst songs EVER dude...
-
Easy Wind is easily one of the greatest songs ever written!
-
joel...make a few more posts and get rid of that \'breakfast newbie\' handle!

Don\'t forget Terrapin Station! Atomic Dog is allright, but there are at least 20 Funkadelic songs they shoud play before that, starting with every song off of Standing On The Verge of Getting It On.
-
Standing on the Verge could easily be the best Funkadelic album!!!! (note: Funkadelic album, not Parliament-basically the same band, different styles. Generally Funkadelic is Hendrix-y where as the Parliament albums are more horn oriented.)

phish did the mock song thing too, gettin jiggy wit it na na na na na na. and i would rather hear a ser zappa/funkadelic/dead etc cover then a cover of a song that i hate. and i would much rather hear new material for sure. i mean for shizzle. no wait i did mean for sure.

Parliament was started as doo wop type singing group when George got "turned on" Funkadelic was born and things have nvr been the same :)
