well fuck me.  On the way to this show I made it like 10 minutes down the road before I see flashing lights on my tail.

Turns out my registration expired a week ago. Also turns out I got a class D possession charge now for a doobie.

I missed this one for a night in cuffs. :(

Now because of all this bullshit I am too broke to go to Burlington too..

cute story...

i was the only taper last night (well, ken was doing video).. before the show, upstate was out somewhere, and i plugged my power strip into his extension cord (kinky!).. well, the show ends, and he\'s in a MAJOR hurry to get out of there, and pulls the plug on everything. i watch as everything shuts off, my computer switches to battery power, and the timer on the recording goes from 1:50:XX (end of the show) all the way down to 70:00 (end of the first set).. :wah:

the FIRST thing i thought was \'holy shit, that buquebus is gone!!!\'.. i was sweating. thought the second set was completely wiped out.. i went to work quick, found the files, and recovered them (i think!).. just gotta make sure there\'s something in them now! (fingers crossed!)

i noted it the first few times they played it that way (actually old/new inversion), but it\'s just a newer version of the song now.. i\'d say it\'s the 3rd variation of the tune.. there\'s the fast one (old), the slow, floydish one (new), and the combo (newer).. they still play all 3..

Best Buquebus ever???  I gotta hear this, seems a little too covenient that it may be "lost" before anyone not there can judge;)  I thought it had been a long time since the last "Pygmy".  It def looks like a fun \'Queeb, if nothing else.  I still like the Floydish-Coma best, when was the last one of those?

there are at least 3 versions of WUIAC:

1) fast, bouncy version
2) slow, floydish version
3) combo - fast version > slow intro

:that: I noticed the lacking skills of the soundguy, who has perhaps never heard/worked with this style music before... at first it seemed very muffled & weak, but it did get better by the end of the show

 I can def confirm best Queeb ever heard - oh, yeah & the encore was SER!  I loved when Timmy was shredding on the guitar behind his head & biting on the strings! funny shit.

I thought the Fire encore was a good choice, definitely seemed to capture the energy and left everyone with a smile on the face. Dobs presence, or lack thereof, definitely noticeable as mentioned, especially seeing Jordan sign turn it up to the sound guy during the first half hour of the show, which I have not witnessed from any band member for some time now (might just not realize it if it happens regularly, but saw it last night).

George, you left your backpack here, I\'ll bring it to VT if I remember to do so.

Shit! thanks Ant. i was looking for that. chillin at your house after the show was fun, i was intoxicated last night. as for the show.... Honey butter=:thumbsup::thumbsup:pgmy was awsome, i\'ve never heard the band do that before and it was sick. they\'re probably gonna play some off the wall zappa when they open up for project object. but anyways, lots of people left after the first set and timmy said something along the lines of thanks to the troopers for stickin around. second set was the tits with a ser Jam> opener that i thought would go into gravity but turned out to be superfly phaddy fat. Buquebus was O.O.C. (out of control) but i don\'t know if i can confirm or deny the \'best bequebus ever\' claims. Late>Over was the shit. all the new songs are just so damn good that it\'s hard to try and pick a favorite, but i like this combo more everytime i hear it. Fire was indeed a perfect encore and tim shredding behind his head is always nuts.

I\'ll set the record straight for those don\'t believe davepeck.

BEST BUQUEBUS EVER!

Different than any Buquebus I have heard them play in the last year. It might have been the only song that created energy. I keep looking at the clock and trying to figure out the length but it is no surprise that it hit nearly 25 minutes.

Well, it definitely was the best buquebus I have seen.

i think its underrated simply because its \'hit or miss\'.  sometimes they funk it up and get into a serly heated funk jam and sometimes it has that jazzy feel in the jam with a nice solo by jordan, but sometimes it is just played lackluster and it is uninspired and the cornyness (sp?) of the tune shines thru.  I personally think its a great song (thus the handle) and welcome it at any bfast show i attend! Especially love it as a encore.

For the first time in a while, i like the 2nd jam much better than the first.  This version the first jam only left the main theme for a few minutes, and really didn\'t go that far.  The second jam from the end of the lyrics to about the 19 or so minute mark is other level type shit.  I think the "eye of the Tiger" is cool, but it really seems out of place there.  I think it was probably better live than it seems on disc.  I really think they did a great job with it, but that \'Queeb could\'ve leveled Providence if it had kept exploring what ever space they had traveled to.  I still think the Knit, PH and 11.11.05 versions are the top 3 for me.  That being said, this \'Queeb destroyed the moe.down version that was fluffed so much after that weekend.

I cannot wait to get a chance to listen to the rest of this show.  \'L&tG\' sounds beautiful.

Yeah \'Eye" took alot of the \'Queeb energy and stomped it @ least in the recording.
I thought the 1st jam was actually pretty great near the end of it. Very very good version but not a best ever for me.

I was in attendance for the show and would like to give this Buquebus a full endorsement as my favorite of all-time. For me, it topped Puppethouse.

In addition to the length, the greatness of this Buquebus was exemplified by the perfection of every section. The initial buildup got the crowd moving moreso than at any point in the show and developed a tremendous intensity as Tim took a step back. But then he was ready to go in the post-pancakes and bacon section, which sometimes wears on me because of the prior insanity, but not this time as he played superbly and the jam maintained the zip on the fastball with the crowd still raging. Eye of the Tiger segued naturally and was good for some laughs. They had a lot of balls bringing it back full-circle after everything that had already transpired, but once again, they delivered as Buquebus showed as much ferocity at the end as it did throughout with Adrian doing some exceptional drumming at the very conclusion, which the band drew out like they did every part of it.

That was the thing about this Buquebus: they extended every section to the max, but kept up the level of gusto in their playing, were not redundant, and demanded and received the focus and attention of the crowd. Truly epic.

This show also had top-of-the-line Honey Butter and What the Funk jams in addition to a stellar performance of my favorite new Breakfast song: Over Exposure.

man, i keep forgetting about this show.  need to get it out to you poeple....

wait, you have that one too?! :wah:

ok he now has a 3rd copy of this show so he should get it to you guys dave.   just a little quick info on it.  it was recorded with a mini-disc recorder with the stock mic.  it was setup dead center of the room on the floor approx. 20-25ft from the stage at about 7-8ft.  our buddy recorded it on last minutes notice as he borrowed the rig from his friend.  He forgot about the disc change at 80 minutes so there is some music missing from the start of taboot till the end of the drum solo.

but as colin posted it sounds great for a stock minidisc mic but needs tracked terribly.

man I gotta get this prov show.  best bequeb ever?  I gots to hear that.  cuz my fav version so far is the one from the knit a few months ago hands down.

this Queeb is good, its different. the first jam is dark and moody, definitely intense. the second jam is the highlight, drawn out so much longer than usual and with the "Shine On" teases and "Eye of the Tiger" jam its a special, unique version. best ever?? absolutely not in my opinion. ill take Puppethouse and Madison over it any day.

also, the WTF is definitely nasty. 3.12.05 is still my favorite.

dave, your recording of this show is phenomenal. one of the highest quality sounding shows ive ever downloaded. impressed and thankful. its great to finally hear a top-notch recording of Episode 3, which was a great version.

I gotta disagree with you on that one I remember that debate came up after the knit, and  I gave it a good listen and the PH version blows the knit away IMHO

Episode 3 was really solid in this show. Just finished listening to it during lunch and it started to grow on me.

As far as the "best ever" Buquebus, it might have been the live experience that pushed this one over the edge.

always a heavy factor, which is why it always takes a second or third listen for me to make that kinda judgement, but the PH version holds up no matter how many times I listen to it,

Buquebus was O.O.C. (out of control) but i still don\'t know if i can confirm or deny the \'best bequebus ever\' claims.
