nice. what are the venues like at some of these places?
most of the venues you can get to there homepage by either googling them, going to jambase or even the myspace page has the links. Some of them are nothing special but there are more then a few that look real nice. Personally, the best room I think they are playing is the Crystal Lake Casino, but the Jazz Haus looks different. If you want a really really different venue take a look at the Venice Cafe, it is something from another time and/or dimension.
-
great to see west coast dates. although the majority have serious doozie potential, ya\' gotta crawl before ya\' walk. hope this tour is a success and the word spreads for a greater NATIONAL fanbase.
to the future...
-
im glad theyre goin cross country, but i was planning on goin down to beantown and RI over my break (9th-20th) and catchin some shows, but apparently it just wasnt meant to be.
-
So who\'s going to Arizona? I mentioned that I might go to the SF shows, but since I\'m going to be in Vegas/ Grand Canyon the weekend before the AZ shows, It\'s looking highly likely that I will be at at least 1 if not both of the Arizona shows - and I will be bringing 3 people.
If anyone else thinks they might be at the Flagstaff or Tempe shows - give me a holler on this thread.
-
I\'m thinking Tempe is going to be on my tour route. Not sure yet.
But if I can fit in Tempe I am damn sure going to fit in Flagstaff also!
-
Any other dates expected to "fill in" this week?

There are enough dates confirmed to start really thinking about the tour.
I think I am picking up the tour in SF and following them through AZ.
No Doughboy for you on 3/23?
I\'m on board for this tour, just waiting for a few more announcements till I\'m fully confirmed (I\'m confirmed when my name is on the office vacation calendar) on a bunch of the dates.
-
you wanna buy me a plane ticket and give me a place to stay alex? ;)
-
it looks like i might be at all of these shows after the 23rd! not sure about AZ yet, but i want to try to go there too.

i\'ll be there ;)
the first night of the san francisco run is my birthday so i hope you bring some good treats and lots of people leith. al, latenite at your place ??
-
Nice way to spend a bday. In SF w/ The Breakfast! I am posting dates on the TLG board as they will be out east. So far a few people have been stoked to hear The Bfast is coming!
Treats as always.
-
^^^^^i\'d love to see some un - vaccum sealed buds. it\'s sure gonna be a long drive, can\'t wait to party cali styley yo !!
-
can\'t wait to party cali styley yo !!
Since Leith and I missed Block Island, maybe we can all head down to the beach after the show?
Unfortunately, the small apt. I live in now probably isn\'t the ideal party spot, though it could accomodate guests. I used to live in a house with a bunch of guys till last summer - that would have been an ideal place for late night and a Timmy Tour or drums & guitar session on Sunday.
Chris F, are you flying out?

Good thinking on the TLG board idea. Sounds like a great promotional tool. I just bought a 100-disk spindle of blanks specifically for promotion of the S.F. shows.
-
The only way I could ever do a Breakfast tour right now in my life is if I worked for them dirt cheap......... Like I\'d work just for food and shelter........ Ahemmmm...Ahemmmmmm

already got the dates up on the moe. pt board. i\'ll talk to a couple of my peeps in SF to make sure you\'ll be taken care of on your bday, Gabo. Between them and Leithy, you should be good to go.

Just keep him away from the fungus!!!

id like to go out to san fran, but unfortunately I have school. the 2 shows in colo seem good for me, might hit them up.... hopefully I can tour out west with the boys this summer. we shall see....

beer and pot is ok though  thanks igzy i owe ya buddy !!
-
Chris F, are you flying out?

hey man, you gotta ride that pony and face your fears at some point. savor the flavor, gabo ;)

I\'ll (almost) definitely be at the CO shows and the AZ shows. I\'m supposed to be in Ft. Worth, TX the 21-25 but SF may be too tempting... We\'ll see as it get closer.

I\'m hoping to finalize my vacation scheduling ASAP (pending more show announcements). So far no one has signed up to ride w/me to the Nevada show, if you want to ride up from the Bay Area. You may as well see as much Breakfast as possible given the distance you will be travelling.
The only potential obstacle to seeing the Nevada show would be a snowstorm in the Sierrra\'s. The highway through the Sierra\'s (I-80)reaches an elevation of 7,000 feet and the interstate is frequently closed when heavy snow falls up there, though the remainder of the winter is supposed to be warmer and drier than usual.
The band should outfit the touring van with some signs for the 10,000-mile journey (free publicity, complete with http://www.thebreakfast.net). Easily removable signs would be best so they don\'t advertise all the equipment in the trailer when the van is parked in some sketchy neighborhood for the night.
-
i guess im down for the nevada show if you are going. if i end up flying out there by myself and they add more in between san francisco and az i will probably stay for everything.

If they do not add more between SF and AZ ,you think I been a pain in the ass the past few months.....
I have no doubt LA and SD just need to be announced. If I know anything abt Winston\'s @ least I know they are major laggards.
-
if not ill stay and we can try to get a timmy tour run going CA:)
-
I\'d love to do this but I don\'t see it happening

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm floridaaaaa...i might need to escape there next month.
if i still had my somewhat steady job, i would go to colordado. one of my best friends (pubertymonster) lives out there and i need to go out and see her. i would love to see some east coasters make it out. good luck to you fitzy/spacey.
-
good luck to you fitzy/spacey.
Spacey and Chris?
-
i havent heard back from spacey, i would assume he\'s out.

i havent heard back from spacey, i would assume he\'s out.
There\'s one thing I know for sure:
In Crystal Bay, they have to play Doughboy (it\'s a casino) and Love Lake (casino is right on Tahoe).
-
Not gonna happen, unfortunately. Just landed a real job and all, so :D
I\'m def throwin down for 4-20/4-21 in VT after a lil\' break from the northeast winter tour.
-
I\'ll definitely be doing SD & LA. Santa Barbara is also a distinct possibility if they play there. All three of these shows would be within return driving distance the same night if required. I\'m going to try to make one or both of the SF shows if my workload allows, however, I won\'t know for sure until a few days beforehand.

-
Good to read Wayne. Look forward to seeing you again.
It will be nice to hear another of your Breakfast recordings.
Seeya in March!

So S.B. is also a rumored stop?
I wonder if they are planning the SoCal shows between S.F. and Arizona? These shows would occur between Sun.-Wed., not exactly prime nights.

Don\'t put any faith in the SB date I just included it as a ? in the first post.
The LA and SD shows do look like they may fall in the shitty part of the week.
The saving grace is 14 Below is small and the Bfast contigent is fairly strong there so a Tues. could be fine.
As for Winston\'s on a Wed. ? Luckily the OB crowd has much Love for The Bfast and it should still be a decent draw.

Since you\'re driving way up north, you should consider the Nevada show, I\'m buying the hotel room for whoever wants to crash there.
I know this offer is also an invitation for gay jokes, but oh well.

They have played at Soho in S.B. in the past so it is in the realm of possibilities.

<<<<<<<< will be seen somewhere out west.. prolly NV>AZ, but most likely just the Cali run...
-
there seems to be a big break between lawrence and steamboat...i think the breakfast should play in omaha, not b/c i\'m from there, but b/c a friend of mine is opening a new venue that holds around 200 people and he is looking for acts to play at the place. its going to open in a couple weeks and theyve already booked their first act (the chicago afrobeat orchestra). i dont know if more dates are going to be filled in eventually between lawrence and steamboat but they should definately stop in omaha, i mean its on the way to colorado anyway...
i\'m going to assume this new venue is going to be super heady b/c its located in a "up and coming heady" spot in omaha, and very close (i think maybe even next door or 2 doors down) to a heady heady pizza shoppe (big ups to kimmers!! haha). and plus, omaha always gets shafted with anything music related, and i know for a fact that people want their breakfast!! so i end w/ a message to the breakfast- please make my friend ando commando\'s day and play at this place, and please make all of my friends down in omaha happy and fill them w/ breakfast goooodness!!!

I will definitely be out west during this time. The only problem is I will be in the Vegas/ Flagstaff/ Phoenix area only, and I will not make it to SF on 3/24 - 3/25 because I am meeting people in Vegas that weekend.
I will be hiking in the Grand Canyon on M/ T/ W/ Thursday, going most of the way in and out of the canyon via 4 different routes.
If I survive I will drive down to Tempe thursday night and see the Breakfast. Then I will rent a car Friday morning and go back up to Flagstaff. I will do that leg of the trip solo because my crew will have to go back to LA Friday morning, but I\'m willing to stay out in AZ by myself to see the Breakfast. I\'ve been to Mogollon Brewing co. in Flagstaff before (to see TLG in 2004) and it\'s a cool venue right downtown.
If anyone needs a ride from Tempe to Flagstaff and then back to LA on Sat. morning, I got you covered.

Now that ChrisF is planning on coming out for Breakfast (hopefully he\'ll drag some other CT people in tow), I\'m probably going to sign on for the Arizona run. Looking forward to meeting you (and anyone else who\'s going). Let\'s hope the rest of the dates get announced ASAP so we can all finalize our plans!

Glad to see The B... back out west. I am missed them in LA last time due to work. I am trying very hard to make it up to SF and telling lots of others to mark their calenders as well.
BTW..Sterling Stage updates for Memorial Day Weekend are being made this week. Breakfast will be playing on Sat. May 27 instead of day before as previously listed. Stay tuned for a very cool Friday night act. The B will get 3 hours to cut loose on the main stage with Groovin Lumens accompaniement.

sounds good ^^^

Hope to see ya lurking.

Add 3/26 at Moe\'s Alley in Santa Cruz
HAHA Now that is the date I have been waiting for!!!!!
Moe\'s is gonna be outta control!
I am more excited for this than Winston\'s.
Yeah Dawgs!!!!!!!!
-
so far 8 shows within 9 days out west for me. this is going to be out of control!
-
Just watch your  intake and you\'ll be fine ;)
-
West Coast run is looking solid. If we fill in the Tuesday after Santa Monica and add a Saturday show after Arizona, that\'ll be 10 straights days of music - a feat that hasn\'t happened in Breakfastville for quite some time.
Glad to see Santa Cruz in the lineup. I\'ve never been to Moe\'s Alley, though I know popular west coast acts (Tea Leaf Green etc.) play there.
-

Chris will have a chauffeur for this run and will be in good hands. Let\'s just hope there\'s someone to keep an eye on me for those nights that the shows are within walking distance of the lodging.
I promise not to put any ashes in Chris\'s hair.

I would not count on them playing that Tues. For one they may need that day off( they are on the road), two I do not know of a place inbetween LA and SD that they would be able to readily play @ this point in time.
8 shows in 9 days is nice though.

Drums N\' Guitar at Leith\'s place?
Temple Bar looks like a good venue, though I imagine that area of Santa Monica is difficult for parking.
-
FUCK YEAH ON 3/10 OMAHA
thank you for being in contact w/ my friend andy alback (aka ando commando) and the rest of the pizza shoppe/the collective crew!!!!
-
this is all very exciting news, i\'m happy that this tour is shaping up to look pretty tasty. i expect updates from everyone in attendance.
-
Shit, long VERY good looking run in CO, I should quit and fly from Biscuit tour in FLA to tB Tour in CO!!! EVeryone be safe on your trips.

As for Temple Bar, I will find out all about parking. I have a friend that works right down the st. from there.

There are quite a few small clubs down in Huntington Beach that would work nicely. There\'s also The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, but that may be a little large. Possible as an opener?

I\'d like to see a show in Huntington, my girlfriend\'s sister is buying a place a couple blocks from Main St and it would be a good way to introduce her to the band. It\'s also an easy city to park and hang out in. I actually saw a really "sick" raggae band with strong jam tendencies for free down there in one of the Irish pubs.

I was trying to think of a place like in Huntington but couldn\'t.
As for The Coach House yeah opening act is the only way they could play there right now. It would be sweet.

There\'s Kozmo\'s or The Marlin, or Gallagher\'s in HB, or maybe Blue Cafe, or Dipiazza\'s in Long Beach.

It might have been Gallagher\'s. That\'s right off main street, about 3 streets up from the beach. There\'s a large parking garage directly across the street.

I\'m pretty sure I saw the reggae band at Gallagher\'s. Doesn\'t seem like they would have a large enough purse to lure The Breakfast. I was there on a Saturday night and they didn\'t even charge for admission.
Which shows are you signing up for, Wayne?

The last time I went there, I recorded Delta Nove and the place was pretty full with an admission charge. 100 people maybe.
Which shows are you signing up for, Wayne?
I know for sure I\'ll be going to Santa Monica, and I can\'t miss my favorite recording venue, Winston\'s. I\'d like to catch at least one of the Northern shows too.

You been hanging out over in moe.town lately?
This tour is definitely shaping up. It is looking real good. I have no doubt that this tour is going to be successful. There are many people on myspace alone that are excited that the band is coming to there town.
-
i\'ve been pimpin with igzy. why dont you get your ass over there and help biatchhh

I don\'t do well with pimping on message boards or pimping in general. I\'ll stick to my area of expertise. Keep up the good work!

Is there a link (similar to the one about Sequia hijacking the Creek thread)?
-
opening for the Phix?
-
Any plans on a Midatlantic/Southeast run for later on in the season?
-
all these confirmed dates need to go up on jambase asap. just went there to see if it was updated and there isnt a single CO date listed yet and a bunch of the others are missing. this shit is only a month away, time for a full schedule in spots away from "theilivemylifehereonbreakfast.info" crowd. its important with all the newsletters that they wont be on for the time being.

Thats is a great point.
We should divide up the dates and all add them on.
-
opening for the Phix?
I just saw that also.
I think it would be laughable anywhere except CO. Phix may not be a huge national name but in CO. I believe they have quite a following.
Also I think it can be a chance for Timmy to play some Phish songs if he sits in w/ Phix. That would be what is that word? Oh yeah SER!!!!!!!
-
I just dont\' like the idea of teh guys opening up for a cover band
-
I just dont\' like the idea of teh guys opening up for a cover band
Totally understand. I am trying real hard to just see the positive that can come out of it if the crowd is large. The crowd will be full of folk perfectly set up to accept the type of music The Breakfast play.
Come on let\'s face it if you like Phish @ all you will find something in The Breakfast that stokes you out.
No offense to Phix @ all but their "Trey" has absolutely nothing on TimmyP so people will walk out blown away.
I see this tour as just setting up future ones. The venues are pretty well matched to the band\'s aud. and I can see if they do well in certain spots, slightly larger venues are near by for nxt tour.

Thanks Steffmo!!! :)

What if the cover band was DSO in a theater?
I think it\'s better than not playing at all as far as income and exposure* are concerned.
*Assuming people are there in time for a hearty Breakfast
-
first post has been updated, and the calendar is up to date as well..
-
Thanx for the Calender update Dave.
-
What if the cover band was DSO?
even worse...
-
Phix is huge in Denver....hometown. when you are on tour there are two reasons to play: 1) to get paid where you can draw and 2) to develope fans in the towns where you can\'t pull ehough to get paid well. The promoter in denver loves the band, but even the band admits they can\'t pull 100 folks. So this is a good way to build buzz in a good town. ALSO what to don\'t see there is that next door at Cervantes is Zero....featuring one Steve Kimock. After they play their show....you can imagine where TPalms might find himself jamming........
So, we think its a decent way to pass that night in Denver. Perhaps not our first choice, but an ok solution.
-
Bfast>Zero? Now THAT\'S a night out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i believe anyone can add shows to jambase
-
Rujah how are your digest submissions coming along?
-
don\'t get me wrong I know sometimes what has to be done has to be done, but I juswt wish there was another way. but like has been said, there will be people there, and that\'s what matters exposure.
I just don\'t like it, but it\'s the right thing to do
-
I don\'t mind the idea of opening up for bands, especially when they are in there home town. you need to do what you need to do. a lot of the bands out there didn\'t just make it headlining shows.
-
it\'s no the opening it\'s th eopening for a cover band, but it\'ll be a good thing in the end
-
I just dont\' like the idea of teh guys opening up for a cover band
What if the cover band was DSO
personally? i\'d shoot myself in the ear.... but that\'s just a me thing....
and while i\'d certainly rather the band headline everywhere and draw well, i think that getting in front of folks *has* to be the primary focus this time around. and sure enough, this\'ll do it!
-
i wish breakfast opened for PHIX around here, Phix is fucking nasty!
-
i wish breakfast opened for PHIX around here, Phix is fucking nasty!
:sigh:
sooooooo un-rad.
-
:that:
in their home state guy, come on!!
-
and Phix is soo not nasty. Competent and intersesting to see but not nasty. Tim playing Stash w/ Phix? Now that would be nasty!
-
Just watch your  intake and you\'ll be fine ;)
Chris will have a chauffeur for this run and will be in good hands. Let\'s just hope there\'s someone to keep an eye on me for those nights that the shows are within walking distance of the lodging.
I promise not to put any ashes in Chris\'s hair.
:lol:rotfl:lol:
Just make sure he doesn\'t crash on a couch or cuddle a commode!!!!
-
I saw DSO is playing Flagstaff the day before the Breakfast, and DSO is playing the day after the Breakfast in Tempe. The dudes I\'m travelling with suggested we see DSO instead of the Breakfast and I said NO FUCKIN WAY. Not unless you want to get dropped off in the middle of the desert and left for buzzard bait.
-
that\'s right you fuckin tell em
represent!
-
lol
left in the desert, lol, buzzard bait
-
that\'s right you fuckin tell em
represent!
i can understand why it\'s odd to think of the breakfast opening for a cover band like phix, but there is definitely good logic behind that. i don\'t think i would be upset if they opened for DSO, it would be strange, but i would love to see the two bands in the same night. i love dso and obviously love the breakfast.
on a sidenote, i am so fucking tempted to go out to colorado!!
-
that\'s right you fuckin tell em
represent!
i can understand why it\'s odd to think of a cover band like phix opening for the breakfast,
no the breakfast is opening for phix not vice versa
-
aghhh that\'s what i meant. seriously. i did read the thread.
-
-
It is so weird to read some one loves DSO.
Esp. from someone that never saw GD.
It is moments like that in which i really can appreciate what DSO is doing.
-
Phix is a tribute band, not a cover band, much like the Good Time Boys are a RHCP tribute band
:duck:
-
eh whatever, do they play all phish "covers" do GTB play all RHCP "cover" same thing :)
-
I just dont\' like the idea of teh guys opening up for a cover band
What if the cover band was DSO in a large theater?
personally? i\'d shoot myself in the ear.... but that\'s just a me thing....
My question was referring to the large crowd that the band could be exposed to, not the fact that they play Dead tunes.
DSO in the area could serve as an opportunity to promote the Breakfast.
-
phix sucks, end of discussion imo.
-
al, while playing for a large crowd would be great, i, personally, have issues with dso. that\'s what i meant by shooting myself in the ear. i love the breakfast, but i\'d hate to have to see them playing with dso. plus, i wouldn\'t much care to pay $20+ bucks just to see the breakfast as the opening act.
i guess my point is, as long as a dso/breakfast gig isn\'t the one closest to me, go for it, but it\'d suck to have to convince myself to go to that show.
-
Just watch your  intake and you\'ll be fine ;)

definitely not gonna happen on this tour, but if it will get you to come along i\'ll fake it so you can take some pictures for your avatar again.
Phix is a tribute band, not a cover band, much like the Good Time Boys are a RHCP tribute band
:duck:
phix is a band that tours full time, right? if so i would say they are a cover band. GTBs is a side project of The Breakfast, so i think that makes them a tribute band. if that makes any sense to anyone.
-
definitely not gonna happen on this tour, but if it will get you to come along i\'ll fake it so you can take some pictures for your avatar again.
I REALLY wish I could!!!
-
I\'m curious to know if the band has a reliable tour van now (or if I need to worry about them trucking thousands of miles in March).
Secondly, will the TPalms gig booked the night before the Iowa City show be played as currently scheduled? I\'ve driven across the country several times and know CT > Iowa is possible in a single day, though it\'s a very ambitious itinerary.
-
The van is solid! She\'s a bonafide trooper!!!!
-
Anybody coming to SD... If 3/28 stays open... BBQ at my house! (or maybe 3/29 pre-show)

ahh yeah You\'re gonna be in town? That is great news. For some reason I thought you would be out and about the nation.
We finally get to boogie down together @ Winston\'s. woo woo

Oh, I\'ll be in town for sure! I\'m hoping to make some or all of the CO shows. I\'ll know by the 27th of this month if I got into a competition in TX or not... that will determine my presence in SF. Count me in for Santa Cruz on.
-
Santa Cruz on? Yeah Gia!!!!!!!!!!!
-
plus I found out I\'m not allergic to green... Yippee
-
Anyone else planning on coming out? Don\'t know if I\'ve mentioned it yet, but so far it looks like only ChrisF and I will be driving in may car from Tahoe > S.F. > Santa Cruz > L.A. > San Diego > Arizona. That means there may be room for others who are considering the tour.
8 shows in 9 days: are we ser?
-
i\'d love to.. i really would.. unfortunately the tour wasn\'t announced enough in advance, and lisa\'s schedule is already done, and it ain\'t gonna happen. :(

Hey Steffmo, I\'m curious to know if there is going to be an official tour press release sent to the jamsites?
Yes...there will be this week when the itinerary is complete.
Add 3/12 at the Swing station in LaPorte CO.
Unfortunately 3/28 at Moe\'s Alley did not work out. 3/28 is the last date we need to fill before we announce the tour.
-
Bummer about Moe\'s Alley but hopefully the date can be filled. Looking forward to reading where.
-
3/26/06.....SOHO , Santa Barbara CA
I think that will do it.
-
^Right on
-
I think I might be doing a little bit of the Colorado run. Can\'t get enough days off at the end of March but can get the 12- 18 or something like that.
-
I think I might be doing a little bit of the Colorado run. Can\'t get enough days off at the end of March but can get the 12- 18 or something like that.
i was so tempted to go out there so i could see some of teh CO run with my love pubertymonster but have instead decided to go to west palm beach, fl.. on a sidenote, does anyone have any inside info on 4/14-15?? there\'s nothing on the calendar.
-
^^^ I don\'t know but if something is announced I will book my trip tomorrow.
I figure that maybe a little donation to the old digest and and write something up about the little run and then send it out west for that run.
Do we have any material for a tour digest? If we can come up with enough material for maybe 3- The Vernal Equinox Tour and some people want to throw it together I will fund it. Even if it is filled with just setlists, a brief review. Plugs for .info, where to find shows, .net and myspace. It will basically be breakfast info. Something people can bring home after the show.
-
3/26/06.....SOHO , Santa Barbara CA
I think that will do it.
Sounds good! I was planning on taking ChrisF down to S.B. (en route to L.A.) for the Natural Cafe, a really delicious food stop. I\'ve been down there a bunch of times in my life, though I\'ve never really been out on the town for entertainment (except for a night of serious boozin at some U.C.S.B. parties back in summer 2000).
Hopefully they\'ve got a decent music scene to greet our guys!
Soho does sound familiar, I swear I\'ve seen a Wstielau recording from that venue.
-
DSO in the area could serve as an opportunity to promote the Breakfast.[/QUOTE]
True - but DSO is playing Flagstaff the same night the Breakfast plays Tempe, so of course we will all be in Tempe that night. But if anybody reading this is from Flagstaff it would help us out a ton if they would flyer the DSO show. Anyway I hope to see you guys in Arizona!
Also, DSO isn\'t that bad. I just prefer to see a dead cover band in a small club rather than in a packed theatre.
-
Dates will be confirming for midwest run soon. Figure late April/Early May.
-
I was really thinking about trying to get to a show on the west coast run, but i am curious to see what some of these midwest dates/venues are.....
I am not ruling out a west coast adventure, just saying that west coast in march is less realistic than the midwest in april/may......
either way...thanks for the heads up Vic....
-
^^^ I hear ya.
The best I can do know is Colorado in mid-March but if I can swing something for late April, I will make a trek out to the mid-west.
-
I was really thinking about trying to get to a show on the west coast run, but i am curious to see what some of these midwest dates/venues are.....
:that:
Late March/ early April is way more realistic for me!!!
-
just out of curiosity, which festivals are bing looked into? i know that around here, the all good festival would be a *great* place to play. smilefest in nc, harvestfest in ga, haymaker in va and suwannee/magfest/springfest in fl would be other good choices around here.
ok, well, ga & fl aren\'t really around here, but i\'m a big fan of those fests...

Uh duh how late in March does it have to be? sheesh.
The guys are out on the West Coast for the whole last week of March.
Come on no more excuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit that to late April/ early May, Mr. Sticklerpants ;)
-
Hopefully something comes up for the last week in April. I can get just about that entire week off.

BuGabeus, are heading out here for The Breakfast? I noticed your name was inked to the calendar for a number of shows.
Let me know if you need rides/accomodations.
-
come to madison...we are waiting...
-
^^^^^ i\'m crossing my fingers for another madison date too. suuuuch a cool place. hopefully if it\'s at the same spot, it will be more packed. You can help with that i\'m sure if you wanted to promote

how much did all these tickets cost?, because i wanna go but i\'m in a financial squeeze
-
Head\'s up to anyone coming to St. Louis: The show has moved from Venice Cafe to Pop\'s Blue Moon (http://www.popsbluemoon.com/default.aspx). Maybe someone can update the first post in the thread? Venice shows a different band playing on 3/8. Pop\'s doesn\'t list it on their site yet, but it\'s on thebreakfast.net and Jambase. Wherever it takes place, I\'ll be there!
-
I\'d love to get down to St. Louie but I don\'t see it happening right now.
-
how much did all these tickets cost?, because i wanna go but i\'m in a financial squeeze
they cost 269, but the prices go up 21 days before the flight. im leaving the 21st, so that would give you until tomorrow if you wanted to get that deal.

THE BREAKFAST AT THE COLLECTIVE IN OMAHA, NE MARCH 10 WILL BE CRRRUUUNCHY!!! ive been hearing from my homies that people (including lincoln, ne) are mad excited about the breakfast playing. it\'ll also be the start of spring break for many of the college students in the area, and since the show is all ages, i\'ve also been recruiting a bunch of my friends younger siblings who are in high school and what nots to get all their friends to go and such. i think this date will be a really good turn out. i\'m sure all the midwest dates will be phatty...wish i could do the midwest run =(

This just in:
TB confirmed AGAIN 3/19/06 @ Fly Me to the moon, Telluride
This date had been in jeapardy due to double booking.

Leith, are you still onboard for the S.F.-though-Arizona run?
Giavanna, which dates are you covering?
I just bought 200 more blanks so we can distribute plenty of Breakfast samplers down the coast of CA and into Arizona.

Well I may have to bail out on the 30th in Az. due to work but I will be @ the show on the 31st.
I really wish I had more money because Telluride is one hell of an awesome place and the venue they are playing there is a PARTY and w/ The Bfast? Oh shit!!
-
yo, about this wed at BAR, the site says that the show starts at 8, but then says that the show starts at 7? and then timmy tour is at 930? if anyone knows the deal...holla! i hope TB plays for longer than an hour!!
-
PB probably going to be more like 8:00-8:45 or 8:50 at Bar
But....what do I know!!!!
-
I think this thing will run on time, and I don\'t exect them to play much longer than an hour.
-
I\'m pretty open on dates... Denver is a definite! S.F. thru S.D. are definites!
If some folks are looking at going to all the CO shows I could be tempted to join in on gas money and lodgings but my plan for now is to fly out for Denver and then drive up to S.F. and continue from there!
Let me know what plans are in the works and maybe we can work some things out.
Can\'t Wait! Ciao, G

Perhaps you should think about carpooling with Leith Duvall?
S.D. > S.F. is a haul.

Pffft It\'s only a 7-8 hour drive if done right.
When your destination is The Breakfast time flys!!
Gia you have my # still? If so and you want to carpool, I have PLENTY of room as of right now and do not see that changing drastically.
-
I think I\'m going to drive to S.F. no matter what. I definitely have one other person coming with me... maybe more. Plus I have a wedding to go to in SF while I\'m there anyway. But, Leith, if you\'d rather ride with me you\'re welcome to. What\'s the lodging situation for SF thru SD? I know I\'m coming back to SD after the Santa Monica show but I\'d be in on anything on the way down the coast.

Leith, ChrisF and possibly Gabe are staying with me for the S.F. shows. You and your friend can stay too if you don\'t mind getting snuggly on the floor with the guys (my place is pretty small). I\'m probably going to book a room at the Motel 6 right near downtown Santa Barbara for the Sunday Night show. I\'m hoping it\'s within walking distance so we can party hearty and not have to drive. I\'ll probably also try to locate some cheap motel rooms for the AZ shows and the Nevada show. Bring a sleeping bag!! Should be fun!!
-
Hmmm I\'ll think about that Gia. It would probably be the best thing to ride w/ you and split the cost of gas by 3 or more. I do not need a car up there so yeah. Unless the 2 friends I have on the fence come around of course. :sigh:
I\'ll pitch in for some floor space in S.B. and coming home after S.M sounds perfect.
Ya know I think you should expect a PM soon confirming. I think those 2 are just SOL.

I have a tear in my eye reading about non-eastcoasters planning runs. It very nice.

Look for a really cool bonus date on St. Patty\'s day in Boulder....
and maybe a final Sat. in Arizona before coming home.
I just want to say the Alex and Ira have gone all out to make this by far and away the most together tour the band has ever done. I exoect Mark Danial to do his usual pro job of garnering tour press while the band is out.
If any of you are traveling in fromt of the band, it goes without saying that and word of mouth, flyering, CD smaoler disseminating, et al will really help make this the success it deserves to be. Personally I think this tour has the potential of being the corner turning event for the band.
-
Another date in Az. would be so great.
I also think this tour has much potential for the band in terms of larger exposure for sure. It does hit alot of markets they have not been to in awhile.
-
ALZ- count me in on crashing on the floor and I\'ll go in on the SB motel too.
Leith- I have to have a car to go to that wedding but you\'re more than welcome to ride up with me and Ken I think we\'ll jam up on the 24th.
If St. Patty\'s in Boulder happens I\'ll be there too. CO is great for me cause I have fam in both Denver and Boulder.
-
I must again say that though the tour is 3 weeks it is going to be a non-stop tour, which shows that they are using the time wisely which in turn might just be that corner stone to get them going.
At first I was a little skeptical but as I added dates to the myspace page and began to research most of the venues and started to visualize the tour, I became instintly impressed. I think all those who have put this tour together are doing a fine job. My only hope is that the shows are well attended and in place like Colorado and California that shows are beyond success.
-
and maybe a final Sat. in Arizona before coming home.
If any of you are traveling in front of the band, it goes without saying that and word of mouth, flyering, CD sampler disseminating, et al will really help make this the success it deserves to be. .
Do you think Tim will have handbills on the road? We may have some time to pass out cd samplers and flyers for those towns we arrive in early. I have already burned 150 Breakfast samplers since Sunday, and another 150 are waiting on the sidelines - my initial goal was 100 in total, so I\'m drastically revising my ambitions. I didn\'t realize I could produce so many in just a couple of days. Half will probably go for promoting the San Francisco run, with the rest allocated during the tour. It would be ideal if we convince some newbs to tour other cities after seeing the band for the first time.
I believe ChrisF may be travelling west with DVDs for the masses.
Any hint of which Arizona city may be logged for the Saturday slot?
-
al - i\'ll be posting handbills for the tour tomorrow...

Great!! I\'ve got the S.F. handbills (courtesy of the PME) all ready to roll with the samplers.
I\'m going to include http://www.thebreakfast.info and http://www.thebreakfast.net references somewhere near the samplers.

Another date in Az. would be so great.
I also think this tour has much potential for the band in terms of larger exposure for sure. It does hit alot of markets they have not been to in awhile.
I DEFINITELY VOTE FOR ONE LAST SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT APRIL 1st IN ARIZONA! Preferably just a second night in Flagstaff. The perfect venue to play in Flagstaff is the lounge downstairs at the hotel Monte Vista. This is the type of venue that is full of people who just walked in off the street. You will play to a totally different crowd than the crowd at Mogollon Brewing company.

Hopefully the "potential" show isn\'t another April Fools joke, wouldn\'t be the first time the band played a 4/1 trick.

March 17th the Breakfast will be featured opener for Bonerama at the Boulder Theater.
I\'m told this theater is is about 1000 seats. Bonerama is a great jazz tinged band from new Orleans.
A good way to fill the only open Friday on the tour.
Flagstaff is being worked on, can;t say if it will fly. I think there might be one other change where a better offer has come in for a date. Stay tuned.
-
^^^niiice.. Boulder Theater is the shit. id love to see TB there, any who have the opportunity better get their ass in gear and hit up this show. how long is their set?
-
i still can\'t believe theres a band touring called "bonerama"
hopefully most of these shows will be taped

Out of curiosity, why are there no dates on the trip home? Maybe it is something I don\'t/won\'t/can\'t understand but doesn\'t make sense to make the trip out there playing and the trip home playing?

interesting question

Since they have to pass through lots of the country on the ride home, a couple dates would be nice for the cities/states they have never left footprints in.
Somebody should tell Tim that the http://www.thebreakfast.org address, posted on the top of all the Vernal Equinox Tour posters/handbills, no longer redirects users to http://www.thebreakfast.net. You basically get a blank page with no mention of the band. I spent my Friday night handwriting (I was too busy at work to find a label maker to do the job for me) http://www.thebreakfast.net and http://www.thebreakfast.info on the cd sleeves of 200 samplers which will be passed out in S.F. and Berkeley this afternoon.
One question related to the tour for Shadygroove: Are you rounding up the Iowans for the second coming of Breakfast in Iowa City? Haven\'t heard any mention of the show yet. Would be nice if the band is greeted by a solid Tuesday night crowd on tour\'s debut event.
-
Sorry I\'ve been slacking on the boards lately. Things are keeping me busy (mostly drinking). I\'ve been spreading word, flyers and praise for the Iowa City gig like crazy and am expecting to see a good sized crowed on Tuesday night. I was out at the Yacht Club last night and whispered "The Breakfast" in a crowded room and everyone around me turned in amazement like I just spoke of God. Iowa City\'s a heady crowd and every time TB comes out I see the fan base skyrocket. It should be nuts. Plus I\'m hitting the streets again tonight to spread more of the good word.
With my spare time in between I\'ve been working on some promo posters to give away. If I get them done in time I\'ll leave a stack with any pulling the full tour so the rest can be dispersed through the states.
On the same note how many .infoers are making it to Iowa City and Omaha? I could probably sift through the forum and find out but that may take some time.
-
Unfortunately there are some personal committments that prohibit playing on the way back.
If you notice however, the band is already scheduled to be in Minneapolis at the end of April....so a tour will be forming around that.
Also notice the return date at Danials Street on April 6, which I think will be the first date back from tour.

Daniel Street II, ehhnice!

Please note the 19th at Telluride has been moved back to Boulder. I don\'t have a lot of details on this yet....might be a Colorado U. gig. Much as Telluride is great, this is better gig that will pt more gas in the van.
Philly...we are trying to get Philly, Providence, maybe NYC in before going to the midwest, but I\'m not sure which dates will fly. The Midwest tour won\'t be that long....but its starting to shape up. There a a few good dates on hold around the Minneapolis date. Stay tuned....
-
see some of you in a couple weeks, and see the rest of you all in a month

I have emailed my friends in the KC area to let them know about the Lawrence show. I\'m sure they won\'t have a problem filling this place. It\'s a great bar and almost always packed during the school year.
-
For those going to S.F.: My friend said she may want to do a late night after the show(s). She\'s moving 1 block from ocean beach so we could venture down to the water/sand if the weather is decent.
-
Nice! When I lived in SF I lived in Ocean Beach... It was a way for me to feel at home out of SD where I also live in Ocean Beach, heh.

Speaking of Lawrence Kansas, has anybody seen a band called Big Metal Rooster? They have a badass guitarist with a clear Phish influence. Anyway its good to see the Breakfast playing heady college towns where people appreciate this kind of music.
-
Ah, tonight Iowa City. I can almost hear the crowd screaming already.
I\'ve decided to catch the Omaha and Denver shows as well. Which brings me to an offer. I\'m not sure if we have any heady Nebraskians on the forum, but if you want a ride to Denver on Saturday then back on Sunday (from Omaha of course) I have extra room. I\'m sure it will be more convincing after seeing them shred in your home town, but the offer will stand.
-
i\'ve got a group of about 5-6 heading to the lawrence, kansas show, FWIW..

tapers? or as fans?
-
Well so far a bumpy road for the guys.
Some positives though.
Some new forum members and thus people stoked on the band and hopefully the cancellation of the St. Louis gig will result in built up anticipation for the next time they are there.
-
Nice! When I lived in SF I lived in Ocean Beach... It was a way for me to feel at home out of SD where I also live in Ocean Beach, heh.
I should be in San Fran (flying out from Boston) for the shows...well, actually i know I will be. The problem being my friend who I am staying with actually lives way down in Santa Cruz...so what kind of return trip am i looking at?
Also, I am contemplating relocation to Berkley (if I get offered a job) what is the cost of living, etc in that area?

What type of work in Berkeley? We can discuss futher at the show/via P.M.
Santa Cruz is about 70 miles from S.F.
Hope to meet you!!
-
Also the road to Santa Cruz is full of curves and really kinda sux to drive @ night after shows. Good Luck w/ that. ;)
-
Didn\'t Cassedy do it a few times back in the day?
Anyways, I am searching for a couch via college friends who now live there, so I don\'t have to drive back to santa cruz.
Two breakfast shows after a week of boring interviews...pyched!

lol yeah.
Well I think there was mention of a latenite @ one of AlZ\'s friends in Ocean Beach SF so maybe there will be no need to drive back to Santa Cruz.
You headin\' south @ all or just the SF shows?
-
Just got off the phone w/ my roommate who is in the Denver area visiting family. I reminded him about the show tomorrow and he said he was unsure if they would be going as a huge Snowstorm is coming in. Hope the guys have a safe trip to Colo. and the snow is not deep enough to deter people from going to the show.
-
what\'s this... bad weather for a epic Breakfast show..... no way....
-
Well, I\'ll be there!
-
I was handing out Breakfast samplers last night at a show in Berkeley.
I asked a guy next to me at the bar if he would "be interested in a sampler of a great band playing in town in a few weeks". He took one and mentioned that he may be playing with his band in Puerto Rico the weekend of the S.F. shows, though he was interested in Breakfast. It turns out he was the bassist of the reggae band \'Groundation\', a band I have heard about through .info people and online at Jambase. I told him that I really only knew of his band through people in the Breakfast community (specifically Gordo). He then ran out to his car and gave me one of their cds.
-

thats pretty sweet zurflu.. which cd did he give you? ive been really curious to see what their live show is like, b/c they have some absolute gems on disc, but harrison stafford wears on me after awhile with his overpowering vocal leads.. i have a feeling itd all come together live though, such talented musicians, lots of jazzy solos on top of thick reggae grooves.
-
well we are here at the swing station in laporte. its small place, but is pretty decent. there\'s wireless connection here somehow, and definitly one of the weirdest venues i\'ve been to. there are dudes with cowboy hats and the jukebox is ALL bluegrass and country western. they are soundchecking now, and it sounds pretty good. last night was a good one, and people were definitly excited. things are getting better every day, and i cant wait to get into the rockies....we still havent reached that far into the state. but anyways, i\'ll send the list as soon as the shows over. dont really know what to expect for attendance, but they dont start for another 2 or 3 hours. well take care ya\'ll !!
-
always good to hear from you Gaboooo!

sweetness! thanks for the update gabo. tell phil he is a fat ass bitch for me and keep us posted!

I\'m getting nervous about the Crystal Bay show. We have been receiving rain here nearly every day since the beginning of the month. Consequently, the high elevation Sierras have been graced with lots of snow (approximately 9 feet has fallen up there since March 1st). When significant snow falls, the interstate that leads through the mountains to the Nevada side is either closed or only open to rugged autos with chains on the tires. Lets hope we get a reprieve so our cars can make it up to the show.

Hey Giavanna, how is it being world famous now that the band is distributing Breakfast Digests with your profile in them across the nation?
-
Ha ha! Actually I forgot all about it! I grabbed one in Denver but just threw it in my bag to look at later and then I saw it on .info. I have gotten a lot of hits on the old website lately though. Thanks for not making me sound like a total Classical Dork ;)

Hey Gia,
Now that you put out a call in the right thread just in case you did not see ths elsewhere ;)
I know ChrisF was planning on going w/ me but now that I am not going (being responsible and working) to the AZ shows and now NM he is hoping alZ can bring him back to Diego.
I know he is down for NM so if he can just ride back w/ you alZ does not have to detour! Chris just needs to be back in S.D for his flight by the 3rd
-
Sweet! ChrisF and I can work it out on the road from SF!

To those headed to Crystal Bay (in addition to the occupants of my car), I have a cottage reserved at a hotel across from the venue!!
Also, show time lists 9pm. I wonder if that means Breakfast at 9? I may need to leave work at 3:30 if that is the case.

Good look alZ
Also,

nice.
a lot of writing.
You used the word doozie too much.
-
thanks gavin...i really enjoyed that!
-
i wrote it exactly how it was in the notebook, so chill YO
-
I think it\'s great, don\'t get me wrong. But it just sounded like there were only a handful of shows that went they way they should of. You writing cleared up a lot of the grey area I had of how the shows went.
-
just about everything after the mid west was awesome, sorry if i emphasized the few doozie shows too much.
-
It sounded like from Colorado on, things went well. California came across as a huge success.
-
Wow Gavin, I love reading that! I can\'t wait to see the pics to go along with it.
-
I *just* saw in the monthly email that TB will be in Chicago on the 28th...I got a call 2 days ago from the director of the Home Grown Music Network asking me to do promo for Hot Buttered Rum right here in Lafayette on the same night. Damnit, I totally wouldn\'t have committed if I knew about this  Maybe I\'ll just put up flyers for HBR a couple weeks beforehand and hitch a ride to Chicago that night...?
Dilemmas, dilemmas. :violin:
