Yeah I heard they were gonna play Butterfield and Pearl Street a couple times each :D
I am curious what\'s going down after the midwest run though.. especially since I\'m not able to make it to as many shows this month as I hoped (the officer who made that possible holds a special place in my heart)

How about they announce the Summer tour??? How are we two weeks out of May and there are no June dates? They really need to make a concerted effort to get dates out quicker, make it easier for the fans to get plans in order. I know heads like Whineberg need at least a month notice and I think I remember Paul needing even more, Spaceman too. I usually need a month also, although I can usually pull some strings.

I don\'t have too much for you right now....but it should firm up this week. Philly....there is a radius clause due to Big Wuli fest, so we might not get there til after that. Same with NYC.....thae Coda date on the 13th means we can\'t do another NYC. So I would thin upstate NY, other New England stuff. The 1000 date at Toads is a go i believe.
Right now the BIG push is to settle the festival stuff because we have to route around it. there are soooo many more bands trying to jump on these fests now that the general rock world is getting hip to it that the slots are being filled later than ever. I know its annoying to you....but I assure you its WAY more annoying to us. Unfortunately, we don\'t book the bands.
Not to get ahead of ourselves, and it is probably more for next year, but we hope to get some of the records out in Europe and get over there. If we can profitably spend a month over there, it becomes easier to keep the bands money up here, which becomes critical to stability.

well, if you need ideas of places to play in NJ other than Mexicali or the Pony let me know. I do most promo for the Pony\'s jamband schedule. talked to Kyle last week about getting the guys back and hesaid the dates dont seem to work a lot. i told him to make it work. The Saint in Asbury Parkis another Option. not as big as the Pony but tons of history and only few blocks away. moe., SCI, the Biscuits all started out at teh Saint. just an idea.

The bigger boat doesn\'t rock as much as the one they played on. Doubtful they would get booked on the big one this summer though.

i saw Badfish on the bigger boat, it was pretty sick. it\'s like a big bowl with a balcony that wraps around. we would have to guarantee selling out the boat in order to get that one and that mean presale tickets

we had a power outage last year, just as the show began. it sucked and wasted about 10-15 minutes but I\'d say that was the only bad thing, that and $5 cans of Buds.

the thing that pisses me off is everyone thinks the band is too good to play these types of things. i see it all the time. while they may be "too good" musically, they arent "too good" at drawig crowds to places like NYC and NJ. they need everchance they get, and the boatcruise\'s are just plain fun.

I forget who, but one, maybe more, of the band members was feeling sick from being on the boat for a few hours before fan boarding. That and it must be hard as hell to play guitar while swaying side to side like a drunken sailor.

I\'ve seen hinm swaying playing guitar on solid land and still sound kick ass. I\'m pretty sure it was Adj that wasn\'t feeling well but I\'m not positive either

considering those were the only two downfalls, I\'d say do it again. This time they know what to expect and hopefully can make adjustments.

this is an excellent point. something really needs to be done about this. it\'s the reason i didn\'t make it out west for any shows, and i wanted badly to get out there..
prime example - by the way, there\'s a show in Bloomington, Indiana (where?) next Wednesday.. 9 days from now.. i just found out about it, so it\'s here now.. but it\'s not on the band\'s official site, not on the venue\'s site, and it\'s not on jambase. so unless you know to go to crescendoartists.com, you\'re not gonna know about this show.. how much promotion is going to be done for this show in 9 days?
i\'m glad they\'re playing more, but people need to know when they\'re playing ahead of time..

great point, peck. get all these shows announced at the same damn time. or close to. instead of peicing togethere a tour with 9days notice. my buddy thats moving to bllomington next week should be happy, though :)

I agree. Dates need to be announced sooner so people can make plans.
I was going to fly out to colorado for the steamboat run but tickets were 400 a week after the shows were announced.

100% agree with all of you about announcing earlier dates.
Prime examples of lack of promotion are everywhere and with every show. I hate to say it, but I believe that .info has been responsible for promotion of every show since they returned to CT.
I got a message from someone in Burlington who is still waiting for flyers and really wanted to help out. Whether or not it promotion needed to get done in Burlington, it still should be happening.
FYI, myspace has every date that the band has scheduled. I constantly look at .info, crescendo and .net for dates. In the future, check out the myspace tour dates if you want. On the same note, I feel that by putting them up there and 3 days later learning about a cancelled show is a waste of time.
Really need a buffer zone.

great three days there. they let you camp at beardslee, and it really is a big free for all, I\'d be down to do it again, but more people should come out and rage... it was funny grilling hot dogs all wasted after the show for like Timmy, Princess Caspian, Dobz, mcajam and mamalaka.. in what seemed like a pretty big field, with two or three tents set up. oh yah- there was a shithoused Rujah spotting! :disco: :chug: :disco:

It does seem like it. I used to be totally fine with this, when I went to college and could recruit several new heads for most of the PB/Breakfast shows I went to. I figured if each SER fan like myself brought along a few people the scene would gradually blossom.
However, what I\'ve seen is pretty modest growth since 2002. And now its oh-six and I\'m not in school any more and I live up in the woods and its hard as shit to get people to go to a Breakfast show with me. And many of these shows are a 2-3-4 hour drive for me so going there in advance to paste fliers up isn\'t an option.
Basically I\'m no longer able to do what I used to consider "my part" promoting the band-- but I\'m down with Breakfast more than I\'ve ever been so I get kind of frustrated on behalf of the band, when, for example, I drive to Syracuse from Mass with 1 other person for a 2 night run, and see that little Mezzanotte Lounge isn\'t nearly as packed as it should be.
My question is, isn\'t somebody getting paid to do promotion?
If so, shows being announced just over a week before they happen should not happen. Like it\'s been pointed out.. SER fans are willing to make the drive! But we also need to be able to plan ahead.
If shows exist but aren\'t posted on .NET, .INFO, and Jambase that\'s just bad coordination. I used to only look on Jambase for a couple years to see when shows were going on, and I bet plenty of people still do.
There was a time when I thought this music would sell its self. Apparently that\'s not the case, even as Breakfast is 10x nastier now than they were when I started catching shows.
