Set up
A: Acoustic set - 15" and 10" Djembes, Congas, Wood Block, Bass Drum, Splash Cymbol
B: Main Drum Kit with Gong
C: Jazz Drum Kit with cow bell rack.
A was by itself, B and C were setup next to each other in a giant arc, allowing Adrian to play parts of both from one possition. Setlist is written as Kit used (A) (B) (C), followed by duration, followed by the name Adrian had on his setlist. With the exception of GSOT, these are all improvisations. The names were just notes on the style, names in parenthasis are my own notes on the stlye.
Set 1
1 (B) 7:25 "Medium Free form, slow 4/4 trade"
2 (C) 5:15 "Jazz Fast funk solo"
3 (A) 7:10 "Percussion Mallets/Percussion Hands"
4 (B) 7:15 -
5 (B) 6:29 (fast trance)* ^
Set 2
6 (A) 4:19 (Percussion Mallets)
7 (B) 14:02 - *
8 (C) 6:03 "Latin Ostinato"
9 (B) 13:55 "The Grand Scheme of Things" $
* (B) primarily, but also used (C).
^ "The End (Beatles) tease
$ (B), but \'Drum solo\' section of song played on (A), with Real radio version ending (2:07)
other titles from the setlist: Quick 6/8, Tribal, Bonham stlye w/brushes, Drum Anti-bass, All Out

wheres the 6/8 time?

wheres the 6/8 time?
good catch. The first song in set 2 started in 6/8, but switched to 4/4 after only a few minutes. I had used the name and then deleted it, and forgot to put it back in the unused list. I don\'t think there was a full 6/8 piece.

Wasn\'t keeping time like I usally do. Obviously due to a face-melting performance by Adrian.

I have never seen or heard anything like that EVER!!! The opener on the percussion kit for set 2 was awe-inspiring...I hope he brings more of that stuff on stage with him at tB shows...esp. that wood block thingy. I volunteer to help him lug that crap to all their shows if need be.
-
Yea def wood block thing was craziest thing i have ever heard. Im basicly still speachless from the whole show
-
i would def like to hear more of the set A played alittle more, thought the sound was diffrent but head turning
-
Walsh, couldn\'t agree with you more. After watching Animal attack those drums, I realized that he has yet to reach his full potential behind that kit. Maybe soon they will be able to bring in more drums and percussion, a whole new level of breakfast.
-
futurama fan, hu spacey?

"A" was awesome indeed.
I also liked that sharp popping of the cow bell rack on "C"

Can\'t wait for my brother to listen to this...he plays kit, congas, and djembe.
Nice new signature, Ant-Man. ;)

It is amazing to think that Adrian was actually nervous about the "fan" reaction to his big bang solo project.....As I told him a couple of weeks ago...."now is the time for you to do whatever you want creatively as an artist." I hope he took my words, and a decent turnout of hardcore kidz hanging infront of the kit all night, foaming at the mouth by the end of the show, and all the posative comments, seriously....and will continue to do his thing creatively for all of us to have the pleasure to hear....
As for the Big Bang show....My brain still hasn\'t processed what went down.....All I know is that the entire crowd was singing the "music" parts of Scheme as Adrian wailed the shit out of it...
I pose the same question DavePeck posed to me after the show: Which solo version of TGSOT was better (TPalms solo acoustic or Animals Big Bang Scheme)? My only answer was "I didnt hear anyone singing Scheme during solo Timmys scheme"
was this recorded??????
I saw 3 cameras
I heard there were over 30 channels taping this little bit of insanity
When you see Chris Fitz, Paul Ryan, and Matt Vallo at the helm of a row of computers with a birds nest of wires running all over the place, you know that not only is it being recorded, but it will be the best possible recording that could have been captured....and thanks for that guys......

Fitzy, Paul Ryan, and mvallo =

Where would we be without their hard work and dedication?

TRUTH!!!!
Where would we be without their hard work and dedication?
There would be no sampler CDs, no free mind-blowing promo, nothing to do in our free time, etc. etc.

we can\'t forget KindM\'s either

or Dave Peck for whom without, my life would be virtually empty with no .info

This goes without saying. Every moring I get and take a deep breath and relax knowing the .info is still running strong and better then ever.
He is a god among ordinary men.

I believe they deserve more than one thread. It should be brought up more often. :)

does anyone happen to have just the audio of this?
-
Wow! This is some amazing stuff! Paul, thanks for sharing.
-
Definitely some amazing stuff here!
As a side note, check out the Frankly Po Zest clip from 3-17-02 :shock2:

the audio is ridiculous on these recordings. Vallo did a multitrack of the entire drum rig. He had more gear than adrian did. Listen to this on a good set up and then next time you see him, thank him for all that work.
