Also got a text from Todd, I believe, that stated they\'ll be back next year. That might be too early to call but I don\'t know who was watching from the sides.

I can hardly wait to hear the Queeb. I bet they killed it. That middle part hopefully had people who hadn\'t listened to a lot of them saying, "Shit, these guys are good..." I hope it was taped.

absolutely incredible experience. everybody looked like they were having a great time during the show (band included). i don\'t know if there were 1000 people, but there were definitely more than were at the last toads show...i thought it was more like 500 at the time, but i can never gauge attendances...especially at a festival where there were so many people coming and going.  i\'m sure at least 1000 people heard the show

the music was incredible...great jam>coma to open...probably my favorite part of the set

ron absolutely killed overexposure...i wish i could hear him on those speakers every show...i love the drop into the beginning. the song gets better every time i hear it.

kind of assumed buquebus was coming...what surprised me though was that they didn\'t try to trance it up...there was a rocking dancey jam, which really showcased what the band does best...great job by adrian at the end

tunage was tight...song\'s still growing on me...the crowd really seemed to enjoy it

matt\'s still a little low in the mix, but you can definitely sense the extra layer in there during the jams...i would say this show was much better than the GOTV show...george ewing was taping the show and there was a digital soundboard recording that will probably be available soon

ummm just rolled in from camp folks! things are a bit hazy at the moment, but i must say,
the breakfast BROUGHT IT to camp bisco.

Not only is Wake Up in a Coma one of my all-time favorites, but it was the perfect opener for  the set. hearing that song through those huge speakers literally brought a tear to my eye. Overexposure was amazing, that song is so catchy, and ron spears was holding it down (per usual!) BUQUEBUS rocked the entire venue. it was great to see people i didnt know singing along! Tunage kept it real, and gave those biscuits kids a good dose of sheer face melting rock. . . .

Overall it was obvious the boys had put a lot of thought and time and practice into this particular show. it was an impeccably played set, totally tasteful, and well received. Just enough rock, just enough dance, but all the breakfast.

Dancing out in that field, pushing out as much love as i could to that crowd, i felt a page turn in the history books of the band this weekend. i am tremendously excited for whats to come!. . .

(also... bfam was representing... you guys are simply the best. . .  pictures soon to come!)

So I\'m back, tho not technically "home", and I gotta go to work soon so here\'s my quick review of the weekend....

Overall- Great festival! the lines into the venue did not take me long at all, and we got set up and ready to go in no time.

Music-Umphries again put on an awesome festival set (not sure why i didn\'t like them much when i saw them at toads)
Sound Tribe was groovin, but never hit the big peaks that i expected (and their live set was way better than their PA set in my opinion)
Hallucinogen in Dub was probably my biggest surprise of the weekend, i had a great time with them (simon posfords live band)
The biscuits brought the HEAT all weekend.  Right out of the gates, Bernstein and Chasnoff had peeople gettin doooooown!!  My favorite set was probably first evening set on friday. My favorite songs were definitely the bernstein first night, the magellan the second night (seeeeeer jam, barber finally doin something really cool), and the song that nobody knew the last night (2nd to last song of the last set, before they played Sound 1)

but obviously the big highlight for me was the rooockin breakfast set saturday afternoon.  when i first got there , 10 mins before they were supposed to start, there was practically nobody there.  by the time they started coma after a lengthy opening jam, there were a couple hundred of people payin attention.  by the time i walked around during the beginning of buquebus, several hundred people were gettin jiggy.

for me overexposure was the monster of the set.  buquebus was really really good, and it sounded like matt was added a little riff to the opening that i dont remember jordan playing at all (but i am the uber-newb that has seen more trio shows than quartet shows) and i agree with zuke- not overly tranced out, just funky ass rock n roll. Tunage was pretty short, and unfinished (no drum roll + end section)
overall, lots of fun, great was to start my last day of the fest- and great response for the band, which they obviously deserve.... i can only hope they\'ll be back next year.

awesome awesome weekend.  bennyboomers-great tunes, great times, thanks for drivin buddy, don\'t be upset about mother nature takin us down, there\'s only so much you can do when your up against a tornado....   princess, zuke, nick- sweet seein you guys and gettin down with they heady breakfast (thanks elisa!)

gotta get to work now, peace

some rough comments there. thats shitty. for someone to say "easily one of the worst sets at camp" is hard to swallow. obviously there are a number of reasons for someone to not dig a set at times, one being their head mustve been up their ass, but fuck. anyways, its good to hear from others here that there were, in fact, a lot of people gettin down. i just hope it\'s not being fluffed at all by supporters here on .info.

intelligent set for a Bisco crowd, though, and I\'m sure they brought it. surprising to hear the Buquebus didn\'t get trancy.

who cares what some custi techno tweaker bisco scrub thinks anyway?  The clueless n00b factor is through the roof at every biscuit show since 2001 so I wouldn\'t really worry about what they are saying about the bfast on pt bisco.

Its funny also how so many bisco losers constantly hate on jambands but don\'t seem to realize that bisco IS just another jam band with a cheesey trance twist to it.

a good example of how open to sounds other than unnttzz unnnttzz unntttzzz your typical bisco custi is.

no offense to any biscuits heads out there, but that scene is probably the worst scene going in terms of a "jamband" scene. the music is just so so, i find them to be one of the most overrated bands, the audience consists of doped out drug addicts and show wookies. i always have such a wierd vibe at bisco shows, maybe i just need to dose myself up like most people there

just my opinion

ive never liked the disco biscuits. ive listened to every album, tons of live shows, and seem them 2 or 3 times. the scene, the fans, and the music all are embarrasing to me. you should have seen some of the guys at their brooklyn show last wed with umphreys. ive never seen people so annoying and inconsiderate during a set. durring umphreys they would yell and basicaly hit people..

one guy even burned this other guy with his cig without apologizing..that same guy went around trying to whisper in guys\' ears about weird shit..he would like zoom in on a new guy every few min and like try to whisper shit to them it was beyond weird..and oh yeah, not to mention that music is a complete joke

The Breakfast by Mike Greenhaus (Relix)

Yeah, yeah, yeah I know. You never liked jambands, you grew up listening to psy-trance and the only thing you like for Breakfast is beats. I mean it\'s not like you first saw the Breakfast back in their "psychedelic days" playing in the parking lot at Oswego \'99, watched the Connecticut-bred trio win a Jammy at the Garden in 2004 and, when you\'re slightly tipsy, accidentally refer to "Nectar\'s" as "Toad\'s Place" and "Jeff Holdsworth" as ex-keyboard player "Jordan Giangreco." But, in all seriousness, when it comes to jamming, the Breakfast knows their recipe: they keep their jams tight, their compositions quirky and their guitarist skinny and bi-speckled (just Josh Clarking you, Tim Palmieri). In fact, perhaps there is a reason why the Breakfast has outlasted most of their fourth-generation jamband brethren (if not that darn "Piper" at Spac \'04). Now if only we can figure out why they chose to name their second album Deuce

here is a quick review by a ts.com member

"Just got back.  Some really great music.  I didn\'t tape anything unfortunately, but I did see a set of 414\'s (I think), that ran the entire weekend.

Some very interesting folk that the festival brought out of hiding.  I loved the music, but the scene was just a bit overwhelming.  You can only have heroin and coke pushed on you so many times.

Bisco was TIGHT though, and Umphrey\'s was too.  Both of STS9\'s sets were spectacular.  Giant Panda settled everyone down a bit.  (They needed it).  And The Breakfast were awesome.

I didn\'t get much sleep at all, seeing that one of our neighbors was tripping out of his mind at 4:30 in the morning... Yelling: "When the fuck is all this traffic going to move?  How convinient we all have tents!"

Extrememly interesting weekend.  Felt great to take a shower.  Hope all that attended made it back safely.

Peace

-Prez"

that is pretty funny...at 4 pm.  i\'m personally a fan of stepping out the port-o-potty and letting the next person in line know that "I don\'t think that toilet\'s flushing correctly."

and is all the bisco hate really necessary?  i understand the frustration with some of the crowd, but the organization was nice enough to book our favorite band at their festival, and the band itself put on an amazing few days of music.  believe me, there are definetely some asshole fans out there, as well as some "doped out drug addicts and show wookies," but when a scene gets to be a certain size, that\'s inevitable (yeah yeah there are more assholes at a biscuits show then phish ever had, but you get my point).

This was a great read yesterday and just as good today.

Having had the opportunity to hear the set yesterday afternoon, I can confirm that Matt has already begun to add in a little to the songs. Its exciting to be able to go to a show and hear some of these tunes like its the first time played. Buquebus definitely had a little extra keys going during the Buquebus intro.

Definitely a nice little set. Tunage sounded a little short. Buquebus was good. OE was played well and WUIAC is a nice start.

Perhaps, Todd can confirm this but I heard that Digital Soundboards has copies of this show for sell. I believe it is a matrix, if I remember correctly.

i like that write-up.

and yes there is no reason to shred the Biscuits and their music over this. i think their music was better years ago, more organic if you will, and sammy\'s departure has hurt them. but they have created solid music over the years, they were pioneers with the trancefusion movement, and their writing/musicianship was at one point top-notch shit. i just think theyve gotten lazy when it comes to exploration and composing music. barber used to groove so much more, magner used to throw down a lot more classical waltz-like piano licks and altman was the glue. their shows are less dynamic, that\'s why i dont run to their shows anymore, but i wont rip them a new ass because some of their fans blow.

" Yeah, yeah, yeah I know. You never liked jambands, you grew up listening to psy-trance and the only thing you like for Breakfast is beats."

Thats a pretty classic line right there.

I have no link nor do I know where one is. I\'m sure that once I get home I can locate something for you to visit online. Maybe it was Live Recordings or something.

and is all the bisco hate really necessary?  i understand the frustration with some of the crowd, but the organization was nice enough to book our favorite band at their festival, and the band itself put on an amazing few days of music.

we missed you this year jujuca...we had a 5 am drum circle in your honor

Yeah, true, whatever the fans are like, it\'s well worth it for the music.
HAHAHA !  the f-ing drum circle !   nice.

the OE from this show is beautiful. jam outta Buquebus is fricken sweet. i\'m surpried they didn\'t trance out the first queeb jam. i think that we are going to see some truly gigantic shows this fall. i\'m still getting used to sound of a fourth musician, just like  it took me a while to get used to the trio.  Theyare tight but you can tell that they they will get tighter and tighter once matt has knows all the songs really good and they\'ve played a bunch of shows. this is gonna be sick!!!!!

sorry for the broken english

Captor of Sin on phantasytour
I got a call during the breakfast set from my buddy. he said it was easily one of the worst things at camp. I could hear it in the background. It did sound absolutely awful. He said "typical jamband crap". Go figure. I wondered why he even went to see them.

klout108 on phantasytour
I agree with Captor of sin. The music on his tracks on his myspace page are the jump off. breakfast are custi noobs compared to the ill shit he is busting out with.

that would be funny if they had to cancel the show because one of their 150 lb quartz crystals fell on their laptops and smashed them up

STS9 PA sets are incredibly rich and complex.  BTW, smooth move manager talking shit publicy about  a band you should be networking with.

the breakfast set was fun, thanks to my best friend for waking me up just in time i think i missed 1 song but made it down for the rest.  i thought vibes was more exciting musically but maybe part of that was the early morning hour of bisco.  they still seem very trio-y.  i think time will tell with the integration process as matt continues to be among the best in the game.
other than that psylab, and the tweener shpongle sets were the highlight for me.
but it was great to see so many people make it to the main stage for the early classic breakfast set.

can\'t wait to hear this.  sounded like a fun weekend, i know the bisco scene can be sketchy.

whats with the sts9 hate though?  those guys are so fucking ill, they keep evolving their sound and are not some other random jamband, they are all amazing instrumentalists and electronic musicians/producers at the same time.  that and their sets are always flawless.  I guess people have different tastes though, it\'s interesting to read people talk shit on one great band (sts9) and get peeved when someone else talks shit on another great band (b\'fast).

Loved the Breakfast set...thought it was a great setlist to go with.  There was definetly somewhere between 300-500 people at the stage and almost everybody was getting down.

STS9 was good too.  I think i liked the PA set more than the live band set, but both were good.  I am glad that I dipped out 20 mins early on the live band set to catch girl talk though.  I had very low expectations, but this was probably one of my favorite sets all weekend.

The Biscuits absolutely killed the afternoon set on Friday.  Easily their best set of the weekend.  Listening back to the soundboard it is almost better than I remembered it.  Great Basis intro, Shem-Rah (w/ Gangster tease), and huge Basis ending.  I also really liked the Spacebird from that night and the Caterpillar > Cyclone > Caterpillar from the next night.  I love when they extend the Caterpillar ending...it is so epic.

It was great chillin with the Zuke, Elisa, PJ, Andrea, and the entire B\'fast family.

Let\'s get some Arizona love on the next Breakfast trip out West.

The Breakfast and Disco Biscuits are the two best bands out there today IMHO of course.

All the haters are just missing out on some bad ass jams.  Your loss.
