Dave, do think that there could be a special mention of instrumentals in the lyrics archive? Just so there would be a complete list of Breakfast originals somewhere...
-
I like that idea and have thought about it in the past. Nice to have a master list with everything on it. Should stuff like Vortex make the list?
-
Hope this posts right with the colums. Multiple versions are identified by number (bugs, fairy, etc) These indicate a signifigant style change to the song, or a \'re-writting\' Dates indicate either only time played or personal favs.
Enjoy!

Looks like a pretty thorough list Paul.
I think I remember you were maintaining the covers/originals list back in the day.

becuase it was release on an album. I know its alman bros, but I didnt set up the other list to include an album it was on, so it went under origionals.
-
I\'m not sure how big of a request this is, but how about also (at least for the originals) providing the writing credits for the tunes.

What about my two favorite songs to request, HDX and Vortex?
They only need songs that start with J, X, and Y to be able to play an alphabetical setlist.
-
HDX - not an original. simply Hendrix\'s Woodstock jam with a name slapped on it..
Vortex - improv doozie jam given a name..
-
Paul, great job on the covers list! One correction: They have not played "The Chicken Dance", which is that stupid song where you flap your wings. It\'s one of those retarded songs written to be played at Bar Mitzvahs and minor league baseball games. The song is "The Chicken" written by Fred Wesley, who is a trombone player w/ James Brown and Maceo Parker.
Oh another thing, it\'s "They\'re" coming to take me away, not "Their." :P

i know that deblock used to request the chicken dance and I remember them playing it once at calihans while db danced around as discribed above. maybe it wasnt listed in the setlist... might have just been a tease.

Well then HDX has to be added onto the covers list. It\'s gotta be on one list or the other. It should be in the same list as "Ahh...The Name is Breakfast Baby."
As for Vortex, is the description "Improv doozie jam" accurate for Prom \'97? Cause Prom 97 made the originals list, therefore Vortex should too.

no. maybe yes, minus the \'doozie\', though there\'s some form to it for definition. Prom \'97 has been played on more than one occasion..
i put Vortex in the same category as all the songs on \'Zone 1\' - improv jams with names tacked on, never to be played again..

HDX is listed on the covers list as
HDX (Beginnings... back at the house) - Jimi Hendrix
which is the real title of it given on the woodstock setlist. I did not include HDX on the origionals list. Vortex is on my origionals list, along with all of the zone 1 songs.

Paul - It wasn\'t the chicken dance that I used to request it was Surfin\' Bird, which usually ended up into Surfin\' Bird/Lumpy Gravy.

Hold off on it being written as word - there needs to be two for a Bluntman & Chronic Reunion.
-
Paul, you got Memory of a Free Festival on the originals list, it should be on the covers list (David Bowie).
